Hi Rich and Carol. I went along today and even after the snow, it was very busy, which is a very good thing! I had a word with an old contact of mine on the Yamaha stand and like I did 2 years ago with the new MT10, I will be having a go on an MT09 Auto in the not too distant future. I did suggest to them that I wouldn't mind waiting until about March! I would just like to try a much later auto bike, as it's been 12 years since I last had a go on a VFR1200 auto and I did own a Suzuki Burgman 650 for 4 years, which was great fun to ride. I have still never ridden an MT10 SP new or old model. I also had a sit on that SP, as you did, and the first thing I thought was, 'I am so glad I have the Comfort Seat' on my MT10. Enjoyed the show. Strangely I quite liked that little 400 Triumph Scrambler, but I still need to reduce the numbers a bit more, before I start buying again.
@RichardASK Another MT10 owner and subscriber stopped for a chat at the show. He said he had heard 2025 would be the last year for the MT10 and the CP4 engine due to emissions. Hope it's not true. We enjoyed the show and living so close, we may call back there at the weekend.

Y-AMT . yep neutral at bottom. I had a go on one. Not for me at moment, never sure when auto was going to change gear. A bit fiddly changing gear with left hand, quite a bit going on on left hand switch gear. They will no doubt improve in next few years
@beverleynorth4914 Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate that. I think on the initial look, I prefer the Honda DCT and new e clutch systems. The uncertainty of when it would change gear would be my biggest concern
@@beverleynorth4914 Arnold's used to ask me if I wanted to take their demos out when mine was being serviced. Not so now. There's lots of very old videos of me out on their demos. As we don't ask manufacturers for press bikes (there's pressure for a positive review) there will be very few bike reviews on our channel. I still like Arnold's and still use them for servicing
I did ride a RS a few months ago and it was great, I'm sure it had a key so unless they have changed the spec since then it's all good. The bar end mirrors were also surprisingly good. So I think if and when I upgrade it will prob be to the RS, I also love the yellow 💛 the only thing that concerns me is i don't think the seat is as comfy as my 675.
@@beverleynorth4914 The RS is slightly more powerful, but that would be hardly noticeable against the R. I do like the TFT screen on the RS. Think the R is marginally lower as well. Both great bikes.
@splodge57 It's definitely fixable if it is a problem. What Honda are offering with that 1000cc Hornet is amazing! I sat on the Ducati Street Fighter in part 2 (still in the edit) and you can buy 3 of these 150bhp bikes for the price of that bike
Thanks for posting, you have definitely saved me the nearly £50. Definitely reached a all time low seen more bikes at the bigger motorcycle shops. Nothing to see here just slower reincarnation of existing models. Honda building bikes for the third world (UK and Asia) as they need to take on Royal Enfield. Triumph bring in new? Specials 007, Elvis and now Evil knievel specials. Royal Enfield built more bikes in a month then Triumph do in a year. Price of bikes need to come down ? Don't you think it may be wages need to go up. Wages have been the same since 2008 after that date motorcycling started to die. With all due respect, do you use all the performance of the MT 10 and ride it as the designer intended? I've attended motorcycle shows for nearly 50 years this must be a all time low.
There were some very nice new bikes. Actually I am interested in three of them. :) Which one felt the most comfortable for you Richard: the new GB350 from Honda, the new RE Classic 650 or the RE Bear? Did you also sit on the Guerilla? I enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
@RRRRefuelRideRace The bear felt a better height for me being tall but I think I preferred the 650 Classic and Carol found the Guerilla fitted her perfectly at 5ft7. The GB 350 was incredible value for money from Honda. 20 bhp not 15 as we said in the video
Nice one guys I think Enfield has it as you say they really are on it right now lovely classic look and great paint choices quiet how BSA are surviving with what is now just 2 bikes and one not yet in full retail make me wonder just how much future do they have with the likes of Honda getting in on the act too leave alone Enfield and Triumphs offerings . Just a point where was the Norton stand ? another1/2 model manufacturer .
There must be a joke about how many TH-camrs does it take to run a bike show? 🤔 The ABR festival was plagued by them! However, we all watch TH-cam so they're a necessary evil! 😉 I haven't been to any bike show for about 10 years but I was thinking of making the 180 mile return journey this year, just for a catch up on what's out there, but with entrance fee, parking, petrol and food it's about a £100 catch up. The freezing temperatures dictate a car this year. I'm surprised about the Hornet seat as I bought the 750 Hornet last year and the seat has not proved to be a problem on consecutive day long rides. I hope they've improved the robustness of the paintwork on the 1000cc Hornet over the 750cc! Sorry, but I still think Royal Enfield are overweight and underpowered with old engineering (valve inspections every 6,000 miles even for the newer models) and even though I'm an old git I like modern looking bikes!!! 😱
@mrcintheuk4641 Yes, TH-camrs everywhere! Everyone of them will have a slightly different perspective. We only bought coffee and a sausage roll at the event, definitely not cheap! I'm going to brave the weather and ride in on the bike today while Carol is at work. At least bike parking is free. Its about 30 mins away for us. The Hornet 1000 is going to sell in big numbers, well priced like the 750. Seat comfort, its just our opinion, others may find it OK? Get what you mean about old engineering on Enfield but also being a bit of an old git, I'm not into all the high-tech electronics either.
@@Banditmanuk I agree about all the high tech. I'm certainly not into adaptive cruise control, 99 axis IMU's, electronic suspension, blind spot sensors, riding modes on sub 130bhp bikes, etc, etc, but I do like TFT screens, even though once set to the display I like it's never changed.
@derekb2765 i guess it depends if you like any of the modern bikes? With the classic shows, there's not that many channels making videos. Here, there's literally a small army of channels filming! We enjoyed it, but the new music and loud entertainment there make doing audio commentary difficult
@@Banditmanuk Yeah, I had that problem at the Stafford Show, re background noise 😬 Are they running the Test Zone there this year? I've looked on the website, but couldn't find any details 🤔
@HepcatHarley I didn't but I think there were dozens of channels filming there, including Lamb Chops. I've seen their channel and their other channel. They did a great vid on Whitby at the same time as we did our Coast to Coast trip starting in Whitby
Went sat,, nothing like used to be half the size more expensive seemed more food stores than bikes, 7.50 for a pint, most manu only one bike in one colour.. not been for few yrs due to this think be few more again
@kevinmill7965 I suspect the event feels threatened but the success of the ABR festival. They've certainly tried the festival feel with the food stalls and very loud stage. Unfortunately, it's never going to be like it was in the 90s and 2000s I didn't see Moto Guzzi or Aprilia again.
Is it just me or do others think the same? New bikes are going in a direction that does not appeal to me. Rider modes were enough to put me off never mind E clutches and the auto gearboxes. I believe some form of ABS is a requirement these days but a 6 axis IMU? Who is it for? an idiot who is going to grab the brakes as hard as possible while banked over in the wet?! I am not surprised sales are down and dealers closing left right and centre!! I have not been to the bike show for 3 years after about a 20 year run of going and wont be going this year.
@MrTench8 Like you, I'm sceptical about the benefits of much of the tech loaded onto bikes. I'm trying to be open minded to it all but I'm struggling to see anything that appeals more than my 8 year old MT10. ABS and basic traction control. Still feels very raw and exciting. Afraid its Enfield showing the way on basic biking with value for money and little electronics.

Yes, I've still got the other half of day one in the edit. (Ducati BMW.....)
I'm also heading over to the show again today as I've got a media pass. Carol's at work so I will brave the MT10 at only 3 degrees centigrade!
Carol is still a relative youngster, she might still cope with the ergonomics of the Street Triple RS, I certainly couldn't. The R1 derived MT10 is as sporty as I can currently cope with.
Y-AMT . yep neutral at bottom.
@@Banditmanuk you can always give it a try. I think Arnold’s have got one on demo
@@beverleynorth4914 Arnold's used to ask me if I wanted to take their demos out when mine was being serviced. Not so now. There's lots of very old videos of me out on their demos.
These days both Carol & myself refuse to risk £1000 security deposit to take a bike out just for a TH-cam video. As we don't ask manufacturers for press bikes (there's pressure for a positive review) there will be very few bike reviews on our channel.
I still like Arnold's and still use them for servicing
Would you go 765 R or RS? And why?
Not sure about dash on R. Not keen on keyless on RS.
Bar ends or not?
I did ride a RS a few months ago and it was great, I'm sure it had a key so unless they have changed the spec since then it's all good. The bar end mirrors were also surprisingly good. So I think if and when I upgrade it will prob be to the RS, I also love the yellow 💛 the only thing that concerns me is i don't think the seat is as comfy as my 675.
@ sorry think I was getting confused with mt09sp that is keyless. Ugly keyless knob
@@beverleynorth4914 The RS is slightly more powerful, but that would be hardly noticeable against the R. I do like the TFT screen on the RS. Think the R is marginally lower as well. Both great bikes.
Honda Hornet 1000, bargain bike for 2025 and the seat may break in after a few hundred miles. It did on my Honda Forza, super comfy now.😊
@splodge57 It's definitely fixable if it is a problem. What Honda are offering with that 1000cc Hornet is amazing! I sat on the Ducati Street Fighter in part 2 (still in the edit) and you can buy 3 of these 150bhp bikes for the price of that bike
The Hornet 1000SP is £6,617 cheaper than the MT10 SP!! It may not have as many goodies but that price difference is crazy. 😂
Thanks for watching. That's 0.002p in my retirement fund 😉
Blame the people forcing the net zero policy, not the manufacturers.
@@Banditmanuk The Classic has a great look. :) OK. In my country the GB is not that cheap, otherwise I like it a lot. Thanks Richard.
Another video is on its way with the rest of the main manufacturers. Hopefully up later tomorrow 🙏
👍
There must be a joke about how many TH-camrs does it take to run a bike show? 🤔 The ABR festival was plagued by them! However, we all watch TH-cam so they're a necessary evil! 😉
I haven't been to any bike show for about 10 years but I was thinking of making the 180 mile return journey this year, just for a catch up on what's out there, but with entrance fee, parking, petrol and food it's about a £100 catch up.
You can't tell seat comfort by sitting on it for a couple of minutes at the show. 😂 😂
I'm contemplating whether to go to Motorcycle Live or not. There's nothing there really to pique my interest 🤔
@derekb2765 i guess it depends if you like any of the modern bikes? With the classic shows, there's not that many channels making videos. Here, there's literally a small army of channels filming!
We enjoyed it, but the new music and loud entertainment there make doing audio commentary difficult
@@Banditmanuk Yeah, I had that problem at the Stafford Show, re background noise 😬
Are they running the Test Zone there this year? I've looked on the website, but couldn't find any details 🤔
@derekb2765 I think they were, but we concentrated on the stands. I'm heading back tomorrow for a better look. Possibly film what I missed so far.
@@BanditmanukGood idea, as it shouldn't be so busy as at the weekends 👍
Great walk around, did you bump into 'Biker of Atlantis'? I love their channels :)
Unfortunately, it's never going to be like it was in the 90s and 2000s
I didn't see Moto Guzzi or Aprilia again.
