Kinda curious how the panel at 9:45, which you called beautiful, gets a complete new meaning after the last chapter of the manga, and turns out to be a very depressing scene... [SPOILER ALERT] ...when you realize that Makima's hug is entirely because of her happiness after finally finding the Chainsaw Man, and while Denji feels loved or, at least, liked (or acknowledged) for the first time in his life, she's actually ignoring his entire existence and just feeling or seeing the demon inside of him.

Most of the devils in the outside world including the extremely powerful ones all only have a single memory of their life and death in hell, which is the revving of a chainsaw. This is because apparently the chainsaw devil killed them all in a battle against the four horsemen or something? It hasn't really been explained to much. Anyways the reason the chainsaw devil is so powerful is because it can 'eat' the concept of the devil to grow stronger. So when the chainsaw devil removes the concept of another devil it pretty much vanishes from history. Chainsaw devil is also very strong because chainsaws are fucking scary.

But by fearing this one devil, it just powers it up, theres not another devil of devil when people feared that bat devil, it probably made it stronger for example

When I started reading chainsaw man, I literally could not stop reading it. I read it all up to date without any breaks, except eating i guess. But man is it one of my favourite mangas of all time rn.
I really appreciate when folks doing manga commentary talk at length about the artwork. I think a lot of folks get (understandably) caught up in the plot beats and character stuff, but lose sight of the aspect that is inherent to the medium of manga. The art in Chainsaw Man is what first hooked me, and one of the biggest things I still re-read chapters for. Recently, the Gun Devil's reveal chapter is just...the way it's depicted and how it looks is so stunning, you immediately recognize the thread of it.
Fujimoto's art is really something else, his other manga (Firepunch) looks really cool too, so I can't wait to see more of his work. I really appreciate the kind words man, i'll definitely be revisiting CSM in a future video
Maybe it's just me, but I think it's a disservice to the manga to focus on its power system and fights more than its substance, cuz it's one of the few manga that built its power system around telling its story, and not the other way around. Hell, I didn't even register it as a power system while I was reading it.
The reason I didn't focus on the specific narratives surrounding the fights was because I made this video as a general overview of why I love Chainsaw Man; I tried not to spoil too much of the story. After I talked about the technical aspects of the fights/ the power system, I also mentioned that it's the character drama that actually gives emotional weight to the fights, (I just didn't give specific examples). I wouldn't say that it's a disservice to point out the amazing technical writing that goes into the fights. Although I will agree with you that the power system is really cleverly woven into the narrative in creative and subversive ways later on.

You mentioned that readers who are only in it for the action might be disappointed by the actual narratives surrounding the fights, but like I said before, discovering that aspect of the series was a really pleasant surprise for me, and I honestly think I had a more enjoyable experience because I wasn't expecting the series to be that good. Your point definitely makes a lot more sense for a series like Berserk which, while it does have creative fights like Chainsaw Man, it doesn't have as many "rules" as Chainsaw Man, so I would agree that Berserk doesn't have a "power system" in the way that we're describing. I also love how they showed the characters' stories and struggle, especially the characters other than the MC. Like the girl who's forced to work and couldn't study to make her brother study. Reiz( i think that's her name) who's in the end wanted to go to Denji and live a happy life with him. Love how they showed their struggle and emotions.
One of my favorite panels in the series is on page 9 of chapter 79 where Denji looks towards Aki-47. It's rather simple compared to other panels and page spreads in the series, but it conveys the emotions of the situation so vividly that it genuinely brought a tear to my eye when I first read the chapter. Even now I still get a little emotional when I look at it.

I was crying on the end, how the feeling to pochito built up for me was just, strong, pochito wasnt even shown that much but i still managed to like him and cried so much on the end.
Amen crazy i thought this was a recent upload. This vid just happen to pop up on the algorithm. I just recently cleared after watching season 1 of CSM anime. Part 1 of the manga those 97 chapters earlier, this month of January 2023 where a brutal amazing read. So happy Tatsuki Fujimoto still pushing with Part 2 that's ongoing refining CSM.
The weirder the concept of a manga, The better it is. A guy that has the power change into a chainsaw A guy that can kill anything with a single punch I'm impressed that people could make masterpieces with such weird concept

I haven't read the AoT manga YET... but I freaking LOVE the anime so I am definitely checking out the manga after I'm done with the show. Season 3 of Titan pretty much cemented it as one of my favorite stories ever, so yeah I feel like it'll be remembered as one of the greats. As for CSM, its already pretty much my favorite manga, and I want the ending to be LEGENDARY.

chainsaw man is one of the first manga I ever read and I couldn't be happier that it was my introduction to the world of manga and anime. I am so excited about the adaptation!
Just finished the first part today. What an amazing ride. It's unlike any shounen I've ever seen or read, hell it has parts that are unlike anything I've ever seen or read in any medium. I cannot wait for the anime. I have a feeling with the team involved at MAPPA that we could be looking at something special. Also can't wait for part 2 of the manga later this year.

Well I actually thought Denji was based on Russian Folklore Koschei the Deathless because there are some similarities like how there are some sort of door psychological thingy, the resurrection of the dude in a barrel(in Chainsaw man it's a dumpster), promises, how there are something bad behind the door(in the folklore, it's Koschei deathless behind the door and he is tied down in chains maybe there are something more than it seems behind the death of Denji's father.

I was crying on the end, how the feeling to pochito built up for me was just, strong, pochito wasnt even shown that much but i still managed to like him and cried so much on the end.

Amen crazy i thought this was a recent upload. This vid just happen to pop up on the algorithm. I just recently cleared after watching season 1 of CSM anime. Part 1 of the manga those 97 chapters earlier, this month of January 2023 where a brutal amazing read. So happy Tatsuki Fujimoto still pushing with Part 2 that's ongoing refining CSM.
Chainsaw man reminds me of dorohedoro (I hope I got the name right) and jojos, the first arc blew my mind and my heart :(

I love the call backs in this, especially with Makimo sensing Denji through the smell of chainsaw man, which denji probrably hates. But Denji can instantly tell it was makimo/the control devil through the bite he feels

I haven't read the AoT manga YET... but I freaking LOVE the anime so I am definitely checking out the manga after I'm done with the show. Season 3 of Titan pretty much cemented it as one of my favorite stories ever, so yeah I feel like it'll be remembered as one of the greats.
As for CSM, its already pretty much my favorite manga, and I want the ending to be LEGENDARY.

chainsaw man is one of the first manga I ever read and I couldn't be happier that it was my introduction to the world of manga and anime. I am so excited about the adaptation!
Just finished the first part today. What an amazing ride. It's unlike any shounen I've ever seen or read, hell it has parts that are unlike anything I've ever seen or read in any medium. I cannot wait for the anime. I have a feeling with the team involved at MAPPA that we could be looking at something special. Also can't wait for part 2 of the manga later this year.

Well I actually thought Denji was based on Russian Folklore Koschei the Deathless because there are some similarities like how there are some sort of door psychological thingy, the resurrection of the dude in a barrel(in Chainsaw man it's a dumpster), promises, how there are something bad behind the door(in the folklore, it's Koschei deathless behind the door and he is tied down in chains maybe there are something more than it seems behind the death of Denji's father.
Whoa that lines up pretty well, I'll have to look up that folktale that's pretty sick!

If you enjoyed CSM this much, you should check out Fire Punch (also by Fujimoto) and Jigokuraku: Hell's Paradise (same editor as CSM), both are unreal and gritty in the same way as CSM. Fire Punch is a modern masterpiece.
