I am a commercial longliner I've stayed at that dock in McClellanville many times nicest people you could ever meet just greatest people you'll find in the world
I'll never get tired of bottom fishing. Awesome fighting and eating fish, and you just never know what you'll be pulling up (like a 115-lb amberjack while snapper fishing in my case ;) ) Great episode!
Could you give us a bit more detail on the rig you used for the grouper? I know it is a sliding rig...just some details on how you like to set up would be great.....fun video
With 300' of rope and chain you can anchor pretty deep as long as the weather is nice. Then we use an anchor ball to pull the anchor when we are ready to leave. Hope that helps.
These aren't the 2 strokes of old. The ETEC G2 has class leading power, torque and economy. We frequently run our boats 50-100 miles from the dock with confidence.
@@Sir_Ock Again, 20 years ago tech. The engines control the oil and fuel to give you the perfect mix for any RPM. This give you clean burning and efficient motors with less moving parts. These motors have 2 gallon reservoir on the engine which is good for about 200 gallons of fuel PER engine. . So you have to top off the oil every other fill up. We also don't have to haul the boat once a month (100 hrs) to do oil changes ($1500).
Hey man fellow TH-camr and subscriber to your channel! I’m heading down to the Charleston SC area the first week of October. I was wondering if you had any advice on fishing there? Or would you want to link of and do a video with a subscriber? Thanks man keep up the great videos!

Silly fishing!
@@LocalKnowledge is the best kind of fishing!
Why doesn’t this channel have more subscribers? Way better production and info than all those crappy fishing channels in a pond! 🤷♂️
We really appreciate your comment.
I hope there's a second part to this fishing trip
There is!
That's a fine set of rocks... Probably could've smoked the BBs with a chicken rig
These guys were giants!
Looks like a great day!

Could you give us a bit more detail on the rig you used for the grouper? I know it is a sliding rig...just some details on how you like to set up would be great.....fun video
Usually a sliding sinker stopped by a small swivel and then about 12' of 40-80# Seaguar Flouro with a Mustad Demon Circle hook.
Chris is real deal
Yes sir!
Awesome day! Would to show yall some big Gulf grouper
Check out season one! We caught some giants.
New subscriber..... nice video.... and nice to meet you...
Thanks for the sub!
How do you guys anchor at that depth? Or do you just simply drop and drag the anchor to slow your drift?
With 300' of rope and chain you can anchor pretty deep as long as the weather is nice. Then we use an anchor ball to pull the anchor when we are ready to leave. Hope that helps.
Guys how to get in touch with Chris to get a trip with him ??

My brother just bought a boat so we are just getting into nearshore/offshore in SC whats a good all around rod and reel setup you recommend?
Fathom 25n and a Carnage 3 - 7' 30-50# rod is a great start.
Do you have the Seakeeper in the new boat?
Ali's boat has a Seakeeper. Rush's boat does not. Rush's next boat will for sure. :)
The fishing being a little far and weather always being a little rough keeps the fishery great off the carolinas
Totally agree. Must be the reason for these giant fish. Thanks for tuning in
Awesome episode! Curious what conventional reel Ali is using on those big snappers?
PENN Fathom 25II lever drag.
exactly where I go fishing from
You're a luck guy!
Local Knowledge Fishing Show I know it’s great
Any Texas trips ?
On the list for sure. We love TX.
how much yin did you sell that giant red snapper for?
We released all the red snappers.
I'm trying to understand the reasoning behind using Evinrudes (2 strokes) on an offshore boat.
These aren't the 2 strokes of old. The ETEC G2 has class leading power, torque and economy. We frequently run our boats 50-100 miles from the dock with confidence.
Local Knowledge Fishing Show isn’t it annoying having to mix fuel and oil in 250+ gallon quantities though?
