    I got stoned and stumbled onto this channel like 3 months ago and now I find myself deeply concerned about the well-being of a guy named Craig who lives in Scotland, whom I've never met, whilst watching him corral 50 bulls. The internet is weird, fam.

    I love how you give Craig major props. I spent 8 years in the Army and I loved to teach soldiers more and more about what we did. I think it’s great that Craig seeks info and knowledge from you so that he himself can become a better hoof trimmer. It also shows that you are not selfish about what you. Thank you for being who you are and doing things they way you do them. Helping others is sometimes lost in the world today, glad to see you helping others grow. God bless and continue the great work.

    The face that bull was making is called the Flehmen reponse. It helps pheromones travel to their vomeronasal, a.k.a. Jacobsen's organs (basically the thing that helps them suss out pheromone smells). Normally you see animals with those organs drinking the urine of mates to figure out if they're in estrus or not. I'm not sure if the bull was practicing, trying to figure out which of them is higher in the pecking order, if he likes bulls instead/too, or some other reason.

I am a Medical Technologist and worked in a hospital lab for 27 years. I am now a certified pharmacy technician working in a pharmacy . I follow Iowa Dairy Farmer, TDF Honest farming, Peterson Farm Bros, and most recently Idaho horseshoeing school, Midwestern Hoof Trimmer and you. I am loving your videos! From what I learned is that the bull is sizing the other bull up by "drinking" urine. He can detect hormones through special receptors in his upperpalletr in his mouth. Thats why he was making a funny face. That way he can determine wether he is stronger for the cows. Bloodline of the strongest will continue..

    Thank you for saying you love your job, you life, and the world we're living in. It can be so scary with things that have been going on in the world the past year. I think that's why your channel is so calming. It's just everyday maintenance on a cows feet. I mean, who doesn't love cows? Such a simple thing, yet it saves them from so much pain. You are such a positive person Graeme, and it shows when you work, and how you interact with co-workers and cows! LOL. I love your channel, and reading the comments. It's so much fun!

    I carry a 'stick' too but it's a piece of polypipe that I use to make myself bigger and, if I tap it on the ground, it goes 'doink' and the cattle move away from the unfamiliar noise

    Really great work without lots of trouble from the 'BigBoys' cause we all know they're more than capable of having a real mess up should they choose. So glad to see Craig has really proven his talent and very good of you to make sure to let us know how good a hoof trimmer he has become. Oh... and good to see Stevie's on the job again.

    I never realized the extent of what an excellent job you do Graham,... untill i watched a different farriers'
    video, trimming cows feet. Zip-Zip-Zip Done! Those poor cows with ugly shaped feet. Nobody cares like you do.

    • @TecknoVicking
      @TecknoVicking 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Actually, it's way more about comfort of the animal than doing a beautiful job. It's better for the animal to have and ugly but functional foot rather than a beautiful one.
      Yeah it's good to have both beauty and functionality, but the later takes priority.

You have a wonderful outlook on life considering the knocks you've had early on. It's important to understand the one's who hurt us, through their hurt, try to forgive and learn from the experience. Bravo!.
