Aspens, Wildflowers, & a Biker on Mount Elbert - All of the 14'ers - Colorado Peak Bagger #13 of 58

Welcome one, welcome all, to Zimba's Wild Circus!
Join me as I race to climb every 14,000ft. mountain in the lower forty-eight states, in just two seasons! Join me on a new adventure every Friday @ 5pm MST and experience the Wild.
Mount Elbert, the tallest peak in the state provided a wonderful day of fun and beauty! Tamara and I started off from the South Mt. Elbert Trailhead after a short 4wd road and that was a great decision as the aspens were gorgeous and the trail was pristine! In less than four hours we were on the summit and quickly making new friends. To our excitement there was a mountain biker that dropped in from the top and rode all of the way down! We shaved more than an hour off of our descent time and were happily back to our cars before 3 in the afternoon.

Start 7:30am (South Mount Elbert TH @ 10,520’)
#13 Summit 11:15am (3:45hr ascent via The East Ridge)
Left top 12:05pm (50min break)
Back to car 2:45pm (2:40hr descent via the same route)
Total time car to car: 7 hours 15 minutes
