I really think there is a lot of great stuff in the game. Whats your opinion on management?
I think they've taken a huge step forward in management for this game!
- Weather impact: totally agree, I wish this would do more - people leaving when it rains, or preferring indoor/covered attractions, buying sweatshirts, all of that would be great
- I think the lifeguards, operators, and entertainers ABSOLUTELY matter! The staff management with breaks and coverage is HUGE!! And entertainers DO help with the overall mood of your guests!!
- Personally, I think the menu is setup pretty well for the most part (I have some guides on this hahaha) And having the game pause when in the menu is a good thing so you can take the time to make the necessary adjustments
- Transfer tracks would be HUGE! I think having more maintenance management other than simple breakdowns would be great! For instance - what type of downtime is it? Is it extended? Is it a quick reset? I think this addition would be amazing.
- I would LOVE to see training come back!!
- The solar panels should have more of an impact, I agree. They do have a lower running cost, but this should be reduced even more to account for their much higher build cost.
- Adding trains without having to test again? YES PLEASE.
- I would also love to see multiple operators on attractions. Coasters CANNOT run with 1 person (most of them, anyway, kiddie coasters aside)
- A penalty for over-using the city's electricity would be very interesting - I like that idea.
- We definitely need security added back
- ATMs would be great, but also assuming the guests have credit cards and not NEED an ATM if they run out of cash
- In regards to micro-management, if you setup zones and schedules, you'll see this reduced drastically
- But also - STAFF WORK HOURS and PARK HOURS would be AMAZING!!! Because yes, maintenance inspections should happen BEFORE the park opens!!
- I like the research tree more than the old system, but yes, I would love to see this be changed to "contracts" or something rather than research
Overall, I like where they took the management features over PC1 and PZ, but yes I would love to see some tweaks/additions to this side of the game.
And finally, as far as educating people on how theme parks work - here I am!!!
Love your channel, Rudi, would love to chat sometime!
The biggest way to improve management gameplay in PlanCo2 would be to significantly improve and expand upon the guest and staff AI.
All aspect of park management originate at how the guess and staff behave and interact with what you have built.
Make guest behaviour more complex... and how you mange them will becomes more complex.. its really that simple.
Everything else would just be a shallow throw away gimmick, like the power and water system.
The ride attendant stuff is almost game breaking for me. It's so annoying. They just leave a ride whenever and the replacement is on the other side of the park
I’m forever manually picking them up and moving them straight to the ride
@@MiLiTiaAn Either fix them or remove them in my opinion.
@@MiLiTiaAn This would be an option if there is a site with all your staff where you see what they are doing at the moment and can select one member with a simple click. Not playing find Waldo in your crowd and them drag them to the other side of your park where he is needed.
totally agree.. even if you have them around this area... staff member is leaving and ONCE he left the next one will basically start moving. It should be a handover. The nextone hast to be at the coaster BEFORE the old one will leave. pretty annoying
@@dufzyy like how a real person would act lol, and worse I have no idea if its an annoying bug or a bad game mechanic.
I think we also need a Human Ressource manager, I don't want to schedule all my employees, I would just like to be able to say what type of management policy I would like to apply
THIS THIS THIS THIS! Wouldn't mind hiring and firing/micromanaging a single Human resource Manager or a team but NEVER every employee - zzzzz.
A small addition a would like is to have the ability to set areas where guests are allowed to wear their swimsuits. I really dislike seeing people walking in their swimwear through a realistic park....
they should try with a zoning system like skylines or sumn but have it so if they wanna go on the other rides they have to chnge before leaving thaqt area or sumn idk just a thought lol
There is one staff missing, the security guard, what happened to him, where did bro go? Did he just dissolve into existence, he just vanished 💀
It seems the Vandalism mechanic has been removed from PlanCo2.
In PlanCo1 and the RCT games if guest become unhappy enough there was a chance they would cause vandalism and break a path object.
Security Guards created deterrent effect that stop peeps is "vandal mode" from committing vandalism.
Shame if it is gone 😟
I have given thought to the transfer track thing and an idea I came up with was for the maintenance "shed" to be a similar kind of building to the staff buildings. It would resemble a box with similar dimensions to the stations, and have a fixed track entrance, and the ability to place a staff entrance around the perimeter. Placement would be much like a station platform is placed.
I miss the ability to be able to link rides and shops to signs for advertising. I used to like making signs around my parks that would attract guests to different things or areas.
Yes that was really good
@@RudiRennkamel There is so much missing. Gift shops from PZ were amazing. And having an on ride photo section we could link to gift shops which will make guests have a higher chance of buying things from that gift shop after they have just been on the linked ride. Have screens that can be placed in gift shops that can be set as on ride photo screens etc. If a ride is linked to a gift shop, you can sell extra items like "Coaster 1" cups and key rings etc. Again, with a higher chance of guests guying them if they have just been on the linked ride etc. Hotels, restaurants. Again both can be linked to a ride etc and turned into a themed hotel or restaurants. Which in turn would affect guests want to ride, eat or stay at each location etc.
If Frontier hired Texel Raptor to develop the game’s management features, they’d be a power house.
I remember security coming later in Planco 1, but it seems weird for them to include x,y,z and removing a,b,c haha. I think management is OK, though the game does a bad job at teaching you how it all works, i.e. in the first main scenario, they want you to keep happiness up but they don't teach you how staff zones work, or how to get to that menu (I forget even now)
Other than that, guests feet are clipping through parts of flat rides, prebuilt pieces cause unsmooth transitions, the wheels on the pirateship are clipping through some texture and I wonder how it got there, what decisions are being made etc haha. Enjoying the game though.
I agree the management aspect is certainly there but really under cooked. I haven't touched the weather panel a single time since launch. They hyped up "keeping your guests from getting heat stroke" but I haven't bothered at all with making sure there's shade, no idea if they're buying sunblock. Haven't gotten any warnings about heat.
When it rains, the guests don't seek out shelters, very few bother with umbrellas. There's slightly fewer in queues but not by much. They don't care if its 3C out, they'll use pools. Heated pools would've added something to the water management.
The change to time of day is great but there's no real impact on guest flow, sometimes the park empties in the evening at the same time a huge batch of new guests arrives for some reason. Lunch and dinner hours doesn't seem to impact the restaurants.
I don't mind how the staff management is done to an extent, I don't want to micromanage my staff. What I do want is to make sure my park is laid out properly and has the necessary buildings, after that if the staff schedules work and they do their shifts right, i never want to touch it afterwards. A problem I do have, is I have absolutely zero idea how the schedule works, I can't see any way to make a custom one. It's also dumb that mechanics and ride ops can't enter stations at the same time, if a ride is being inspected why can't ride ops change their shifts?
Power can simply be balanced by making generators cost a lot to operate and requiring more maintenance. Solar should be adjusted so they require many (cheaper) panels to be placed, but the operating costs are far lower. I think some kind of transformer which bridges connected power supplies to the distributors would make sense too.
They could just add a functional solar panel you can put on the roof or on a frame
Yes!!!
I would mind the ride attendant addition if it wasn’t for the bonkers stupid staff management ’paint’ tool. The original planet game staff manager wasn’t great but it was feasible
I sure hope Frontier loves their games as much as we do, we wouldn't complain so much if we didn't care. We just want them to fix the game, using some elements and mechanics from the other Planet games, but no including others was a lazy move in my opinion. All those well fought ideas should have been in this game.
Great points, Rudi. I hope that Frontier took note. My impression is that most of the management, including weather, is cosmetic for now. I hope that we will have DLC to add more depth into management, and not only add items, coasters and rides...
Specific mechanics should be able to automatically refurbish without intervention from the player, if they are 'certified' by the manufacturer.
What about adding more ride attendants to coaster and trackrides, like to a max of 3 and having them makes boarding faster/ more efficient and the attraction saver, as they check everything 21:53
Oh yeah I like this too!
We need a "GO ON BREAK NOW" button. We are the boss, we should have the power to do that.
all of your fixes are a no-brainer and I can only imagine that the devs ran out of time as everything seems so well prepared for more realistic management options. Waiting for an upcoming management patch!
Late to the party a bit on this video but I've been playing the career mode scenarios and just did the Building the Bifrost. The point you made about throwing money at the problem was perfectly illustrated by the platinum objective of having thirst needs met above 65%. I put down so many drink shops, counters, and vending machines and couldn't get the numbers. I closed my park twice to empty people out hoping they would come back in hydrated (LOL) and happy. I tried adjusting prices. I tried adding extras. Edited to add: For the last two park days, I had 5 stars across the board for my park rating but I still couldn't get their thirst needs met above about 53%. The solution? After reaching park day six, I made every drink in the game free. Turns out, people will not ignore their thirst if they can get the drinks for free. Also, I have no idea what the actual maintenance schedule should be for rides and such which is how I got directed back to this video. Guess I need to spend more time setting up zones and micromanaging mechanics.
PC 2 guests seeking indoor rides is the same as PZ animals seek shelter when it rains, it happens but it really has no effect on how the over all zoo/park runs.
For the algorithm
Maybe a better options for the daily (food) quest is not to do it by shop but by ingredient.
I'd like to see peeps clear the midways and seek shelter when it rains. Rides should close down temporarily in inclimate weather with guest choosing to stay or leave line. All guest do now is break out an umbrella and possibly not get into a line if it's already raining. I do not miss micro managing security.
Great points! Especially the missing ATM and security. Also, my first thought when opening the game and seeing what’s available: Where’s the first aid stall?
Renewable energy is so much more expensive than internal combustion machines, the price difference between solar pannels and distributors is justified, IMO 12:21
Very clear Rudi!!!! I agree and I think, well said sir!!!! :D :D Thank you for sharing this and let's hope Frontier is listening!! Happy gaming dear!!! :D
I like your ideas and I agree, there are so many great possibilities. But for now, there are so many bugs that I don't even know if the management core of the game is even working. For example: Prices are insane... 50€ for a slide, sure budget. But 15€ for a 1000 prestige coaster, nah.
Yes, you can just build stuff and somehow rush through the scenarios, but almost no decision feels like it has a meaningful impact. Maybe, without the bugs we are at least on par with PC1 and the management becomes reasonable, not good. I was looking forward to PC2 for a better management. However, all Frontier did on top is the implementation of some hollow management shells like energy and staff shifting. I am beginning to believe that they don't find management important for the game. Creative sandbox and some story elements are enough, build something beautiful, don't think about the numbers too much, here are a lot of menus, just pretend you would manage your park. Maybe Frontier should play some good management games like Factorio or at least Anno. I'm a bit salty here... yeah I know the game looks great but it could have been so much better. And do they fix the management? Maybe the biggest bugs, but I disbelieve they will add content in this regard.
Hi Rudi ! hope you're doing well ! as always you blow our mind with all your building ! just a question : will you make one of those days a contenair ship that'll be on the workshop ? thank you and have a good day !
The staff aspect of this game is very under cooked. I would like to have different shift lengths and start times. Also the ability to designate employees as relief workers covering the other workers breaks.
You're doing a fantastic job! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Any idea why often the people completely avoid the pools? Many of the pools stay empty. I thought they just dont go in Wintertime but also in Summer some polls stay empty.
are there any informations when the first dlcs will drop? i cant wait hahahah
Career mode is no challenge other than broken management garbage making the game annoying. How could RCT get this right 25 years ago yet PC just painfully struggles in the entire management aspect? Did the devs bother to test any of this stuff before releasing th game? I mean honestly, within 5 minutes of gameplay the problems are very apparent and very irritating.
I'm sorry to say this, but I just can't help but get the impression that Frontier have launched an Early Access game here without naming it EA.
There are so many missing or immature features in this game that it's ridiculous! I've watched a few videos of various content creators over the last few days who are all mega hyped for the free December update. In my opinion there is nothing in this update to be hyped about. These are all elements/functions that should have been there from the start!
That's what makes an EA game for me, that you release a game with a certain unfinished state and then continuously provide it with adjustments, new features and fixes/finetuning.
There's nothing wrong with that, but then call it EA!!!!
As if we weren't already fed up with the big studios and publishers who present us with unfinished games and then do the fixing afterwards at our expense. Now even small studios are starting with this crap!
I wish guests would be dressed more appropriate for the seasons and weather… who carries umbrellas 😂 can’t they come with a backpack and throw a raincoat on.. take their hoodie off and pop on shades when sun comes out.
Why nobody talk about that on consoles we dont have Multi select tool in edit mode like on PC. Impossible to build creative on consoles without that tool..
currently PC2 is not a game it's just a canvas to paint on. In my experience so far almost every "game" element is broken to some degree
Actually on consol i have a lot of problems with my staff, despite playing in Sandbox with no managment for staff. They should work 24/7 if i would have open all day and all night. Vendors and Ride operators are constantly absent. I won't touch this game again until Frontier adresses all the bugs and i am extremly anoid with this bs. And during 2 hours of gameplay i have at least have once or twice the game crashing.
Is just me or are other consol experiencing the same?
🙂🙂
I like your ideas but you must see Frontiers POV that they must balance between Casual and Hardcore base players. As you see this game was made for consoles in mind too I think most console players like me are casuals that like to run their park on max speed too make money and them concentrate to build creative. If they add all that weather and energry stuff in could be too much for young casual console players. But you are rightstaff and energy maage ment are too easy and could be more challeging.
If it's realised correctly, I think it should be nice for both. You could achieve it on console as casual with premade structures and prefab setups while hardcores Can do it all manually and in hardcore mode
Most gameplay videos of this game on YT players build complete uncreative. Just put down shops and blueprints add paths thats it. Is this how most of the players play this game?
I think the building system is still a nightmare for a lot of players who dont have the time or nerves to sit down for 2 or more hours to create a nice looking building/facility/stations etc.
There should be a "quick build" option for those players. Where you have bigger pre-fabricated elements that you can put together for a nice build. Maybe a few decoration options for the outside look and thats it.
@@MetalBoozie By uncreative I dont mean to build yourself buidings. Workshop is amazing for that. I mean more how poeple in YT design their park design is often a mess what I see and not fun to watch. On Xbox we dont even have multiselct tool in edit mode like on PC. Nobody talk about that.
@@florianvogt8827 I see your point here
My guest can't access any ride no matter how I do the path
My game just keeps yelling at me
Game sounds rubbish
So much missing but knowing Frontier they hopefully will implement a lot of improvements over the coming months/years..
But soo hope we can switch of tree wind movement soon coz I cannot drop trees into the ground for detailing anymore as they move way too much. 🫣
Biggest ones I need:
- Snapping off for some some items eg sun loungers
- Heatmap of staff buildings
- Heatmap of guest traversable area, they are stuck sometimes and I have no idea why
- Placing benches/trashcans outside of path curbs
- Whole management menu in-game as overlay and not a menu outside of gameplay
- Testing rides while game is paused
- and as mentioned ride attendant just leaving even if guests in que, I’s rather hire extra attendants and they can only leave once one is already there to take over
