  • The JDM mods keep coming for the Honda S2000. These Spoon Sports Monoblock brakes have been on my list since the EP3 but finally I have made the plunge and got a set for the S2000.

    Olly installs the Spoon Sports Monoblock Brake Callipers on his Honda S2000 AP1. The Callipers are one part of the puzzle though as the kit included some Goodridge braided brake lines, C-Hook brake discs for the front and rear, as well as some PBS Brake Pads. All of this together transforms the look of the S2000’s front wheel area as the 4 piston design fills the inside of the wheel to give the car a more sporty look.
    Spoon designed the monoblock calliper, whose one piece construction improved rigidity. 4-piston monoblock design improves pedal feel and reduces unsymmetrical wear of brake pads and rotors. Does not interfere with ABS system. OEM sized brake pads and rotors can be used. Allows for rotor diameter up to 300mm and 26mm thick. Weighs 2.6 kg

    I'm waiting for a brand new set of monoblock calipers for my ep3. Hope they arrive soon, they look fantastic 👌

      Nice one man! They will look great! I am definitely happy I went with them on the S2000!

    I'd suggest doing PMU CR pads. They make an awesome combination.

      Thanks for the recommendation! Are they very dusty?

    Should always bleed brakes from the furthest caliper from the reservoir first. They look awesome tho

      That is what I thought too but apparently that vacuum thing meant it didn't matter... when obviously it did... Haha. But yeah, super happy with how they turned out.

      On the S2000 it's FL FR RR RL...at least on the LHD cars, not sure if it changes on RHD. And you want to bleed the inner side of the caliper first, then the outer.

    How you finding the S2000 mate? I’m looking at changing my ep3 for one aswell but I’m abit on the fence about it.
    Anyway it’s good to see you’re taking the time with mods and getting the good quality parts you want, it’s easy to want to rush and mod this, mod that then before you know it you forget what your original plan for the car was

      I am absolutely loving it man! It has exceeded my expectations. Especially now it has come cool parts on it too! Haha. I am glad that I have the EP3 as well though! Definitely useful having the practicality of the Civic to move things (and more people) around.
      If you can make it work with your lifestyle then get one! Incredible fun!
      Got some cool parts that I want to get too so hopefully I can make that a reality too!

      Yeah that’s the perks of having both, ep3 is more dailyable(?) Glad you like it I think I’m just looking for more reasons to push me over the edge and get one 😆
      Looking forward to seeing what you do with the build anyway man

      Do it sooner than later but coming into winter aswell as a recession on it way hope you get a fair deal.
      Only thing I'd say is you need patience to buy a good one there's some rough ones about and you will have to travel to find what you want there never on your door step

      Also do a compression check before buying takes a little time to do but a healthy engine so important as well as a good chassis

      @@ArsenalsJack1992 I feel very lucky to have both as it is the best of all worlds then. I couldn't live with just the S2000 though, its just not practical enough for day to day stuff.

    How do you feel about those calipers in comparison with the stock ones

    • @OllyRoss
      @OllyRoss  ปีที่แล้ว

      They have more bite and less fade, plus, changing the pads is so much easier. They do look SO much better than stock too! Haha

    • @ayowser01
      @ayowser01 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The braking force is more linear. When you push on the pedal, there's more precision and feedback. The stock sliding calipers are like an on/off switch. The Spoon calipers provide much better modulation; even pad wear; and theoretically, slightly more resistance to brake fade.
