Tony Award-winning actor and Shady Side Academy alumnus Christian Borle '91 gives the keynote address at SSA Senior School Commencement on June 6, 2014
I think the thing I like most about Christian Borle is just how real he is. It doesn't matter that he's been acting by profession for over 20 years, he never sounds rehearsed or fake or like he's saying what people want to hear. Not to say all successful actors/celebrities are jerks, but even when some people are nice, they still don't always sound completely genuine. With Christian though, you can always tell he's speaking from the heart and that's such a rare and admirable quality these days, especially when it comes to actors. I hope that quality never fades, no matter how long he's in the business or how successful he becomes. Christian, you're amazing! Please just keep being you, 'cause it's working wonderfully!

All of the advice he gives can really be used by anyone, whether you're graduating college like these people, retiring at 70, or just starting highschool, everybody can listen to the advice he gives, which is what I love about it
