You should definitely read The Assassin's Blade before Queen of Shadows, there's plot points and and characters from TAB that's in QoS

have you watched Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell ? It's a BBC series on Netflix, it's awesome and the raven king is a character in it....it's awesome because it's a alternative universe in Victorian era dealing with magic😊

I want to read all of these books! If a Shadow Bright and Burning is anything like The Infernal Devices then I'll love it (even though I was sure I would anyway). I read the entire Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children this month, including Tales of the Peculiar, and I also read Ready Player One. A pretty good reading month overall. Ready Player One was definitely my favorite, but Miss Peregrine's was good as well.

I read the Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Vampire Diaries #1 & #2, and The BFG last month. The Hunchback of Notre Dame was definitely my favorite. B) I do love a classic that's jam-packed full of humor, and mildly unrelated historical info. 👍🏻 Six of Crows has been on my tbr ever since I saw the black pages!! >:D I love common things that are normally supposed to be one color, but then they're NOT. And I'm also glad to hear that this book has a decent story too. Can't wait to get reading!! Great video!!

I'd been in a horrible reading slump for most of the summer, but then I remembered the one thing that got me out of it last year (reading Agatha Christie books) So, I finished reading Murder in the Mews on Aug 30th.
    In September I read:
-Cards on the table by Agatha Christie,
    - Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys
    - The Call by Peadar O Guilin (because you and Christine mentioned it and it sounded interesting, so I was all for it)
    - Every Falling Star: The True Story of How I Survived and Escaped North Korea by Sunju Lee (an unusual read for me, but still pretty good)
    - The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie
-Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
    - And I started Crooked Kingdom and finished it on Oct 2nd.
All in all, a pretty good month, after the slump I've had (2 books per month the entire summer. yikes)

I am so glad you think Manon is bae, because that was my main thought after reading Queen of Shadows, and I was so disconnected from Aelin after QoS, so I'm hesitant to even begin Empire of Storms! I am worried about Chaol's character and SJM further crushing his soul into the ground.
I think I'll also re-read Six of Crows before Crooked Kingdom too. I know I only read it less than 5 months ago, but like....Nina. My bae.
Your denim jacket is delightful. xxx

OMG YES GIVE MANON A SPINOFF!!!
I so have to get to EoS but Rowaelin is absolutely putting it off for me and I don't need those steamy scenes in my life.
AAAH,I so have to read something by Leigh Bardugo,I feel so bad that I'm meeting her without having read anything by her (but hey, she's coming here with Rainbow Rowell,so I can't not see her too).
That last book sounds soo good!

    • @twimatt
      @twimatt 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

kylee brubaker You don't need to, SoC can be read as a standalone but there are references to some characters from the Grisha triology, and especially in Crooked Kingdom.
Personally I'd read the Grisha triology first, it helps you get a good grip on the world, and you wont be spoiled character and slightly plotwise in SoC. Plus those books blew me away. I turned into a walk-and-read person because I couldn't put them down!
