Hanchey, Shell and Lowe Field Ah 64A's Oh 58D and He was an instructor at shell on OH 58's for the longest time at Shell Field.. Daleville was home for some time. Dothan and Enterprise....

I had the honor and privilege of meeting Mr. Novosel when I was on casual status at the aviation museum on post. He, myself and two other casual status WO's talked for about 30 minutes about the day he earned his MOH. Until that moment I had no idea he was a MOH winner until that talk, I just thought he was an older man that wanted to do some research on a book. I am so glad that the Army didn't f*ck this up.. Fort Novosel is a fitting name that honors a gentleman that exemplified bravery and selfless service. This isn't the Army being woke. This is the Army honoring its best.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

George Orwell warned us that Big Brother would rename symbols of white supremacy. Even though the whole concept of CrimeStop would be to memory hole the entire damned installation. But oh well, no one can ever accuse conservatives of being media literate.

Honoring someone is a good thing but it seems a bit unnecessary to rename a fort. It is not inexpensive at all. It's also a bit confusing.
    Kudos to the hero.

@shermanposting exactly. This was a woke political move IMHO. Removing a name just because it was that of a Confederate. Sad days.

@@zenever0 So you probably also believe that those who led and fought in the Revolutionary War of 1776 were also traitors. Each state is sovereign and has the right to independence, whether it’s for a good cause or bad. That was the belief of the founding fathers.

@@anti-federalist8795 you have a purposely dishonest comparison. The founding fathers were federalists Lmao 🤡 that’s why we have a FEDERAL government.
As a stated goal, the North's primary objective was the preservation of the Union. However, the primary goal of the Confederacy, as evidenced by their own articles of secession, state constitutions, and other legal documents, was the preservation of the institution of slavery. If the South was concerned about States' Rights, they wouldn't have spent the 1850s stepping all over the Northern states' rights like the Fugitive Slave Act.
If your enemy is fighting to maintain slavery, even if you don't state it out loud, you are fighting to end slavery.

It's very sad that they had to change the name of Ft. Rucker. I was stationed there in 1979 to 1981. The Army Aviation School. To me it's disrespectful to change the name of the fort to honor another man instead of continuing to honor the man it was named after. Disrespectful and sad.
