Got inspired by you and started my journey as a sports photographer. Thanks for being an inspiration and uploading such value packed videos like these.
Exactly how its happening with me, Mark seems to inspire many. It's a hard thing to get into theres no set guide or ''qualifications' for this sort of stuff its pure experience mate. I wish you luck on your journey.
Not sure I’ll get much Rugby in now unfortunately. The POV vids aren’t really doable at the moment. I might film some grass routes games and will POV that👍🏻
Nice one Mark, lovely shots and narration..I like the scene setters you have captured at this game..What really caught my attention was the mention of the oval ball, never heard or considered that before..I am looking to upgrade to the R5 or R6 shortly and was wondering if it might have a similar effect with motorsport photography, I really would not like odd shaped cars!..
Thanks Martin, appreciate that. I am pretty confident that when you are shooting motorsport, you will be panning with your subject so there won’t be any movement as such on your subject. The single sensor on the R5 just cannot cope with a moving subject and records, the fast moving ball incorrectly I wish I knew the proper scientific technical explanation for why the balls are always egg shaped when captured, I must look into it to have a proper answer! Thanks Martin
Just catching up on my TH-cam videos. Just finished getting ready for hurricane Milton. This one looks like it will be rough. Projected to go over my house. I will try to take photos laying on the lawn looking at the eye as it crosses over. 😊
Hi Mark. Another great video. I noticed your exposure compensation was up and down quite a bit. I wondered what prompts you to dial it up or down, is it the “blinkies”?
I’m always altering the exp/comp to try and get the exposure right. Made so much easier now I’m mirrorless and can see the alterations needed. Must say, I do use it a lot more now I am mirrorless.
@MarkKerton ah, I understand. As a keen amateur I still use a dslr. I cant justify the cost of changing. The only way I can see if my pics are overexposed is checking the blinkies periodically.
Beautiful shots. Thanks Mark. I’ve learned a lot from your videos. Are all these shots out of camera or are they edited? I’m struggling with editing youth soccer photos and would love to see your tips on editing!
Just picked up an R5mkii this week. Trying to get the menu set up for football to supplement the R3. I'm hoping pre-capture will be of benefit at times, although it could be a nightmare if it bumps up the number of images to go through.
@@MarkKerton Thanks Mark, not sure if that would be possible as the menu system is totally different in the R5 mkii. I've tried to manually replicate the power savings from the R3 and my custom AF tracking settings to get base settings. I've reduced the file size for football down to M for football to speed up data transfer to the laptop, but need to research the Action Priority function to see how I can get it operating for football. Like the R3 it'll be a learning curve for sure.
Just a quick question on job application for sport's photographer i mostly see a degree in photography or fine art or something like that. Some one like me who only did a short course in photography will that hinder my chances in getting in that field

@@CBPhotography_08 Nice one CB👍🏻 We’re all in it together I think👍🏻
Sad to hear Lehmann is closed. Excellent service and not to far from where I live. I will miss them.
Yes, a great shame. Great team there and massively helpful. Not many shops left like them now!
Your new lav mic audio is great!
Loving the SYNCO mic’s, they’re spot on👍🏻
Amazing photos Mark! Would love to see you photograph some rugby again or a few pov vids.

@@MarkKerton that would be quite amazing. Love the content!

Thanks, appreciate that. Most images sent out are edited a little. I’ll be going over my pitch side edit in the next video👌🏻

Nice one. Have you tried copying your R3 settings onto a card and transferring it to the R5ii

Not at all. Your photos will speak for you👍🏻
Noticeable that you're shooting at F2.8 all the time Mark.
Try to Dave, mainly to keep a good depth
