Don't give up on that H! It's worth 1k here in the midwest. I'd adjust the carb and float, (lean it out a little). Keep a little marvel in the gas and work it several times to see if the rungs are just stuck bad. I can't post pictures of the H I restored several years ago, (wish I could show them). It was in much worse shape than yours. Work it, work it, work it! Doc Martin.
great video for sure. simple to pull the head, drop the pan to yank those pistons out. Hone the cylinders, re-ring the pistons, and slide it hack together.
Hey Mick. Thanks for another great time, my man! Here's to you and your family for a wonderful new year. Lost my girl Brindle last year and it will get better...one day at a time,Mick, one day at a time. Jim
Have you considered a video of using the old, bladed dozer to build a loading ramp? It’s a simple project (right, I know), but it wouldn’t tax the ole’ girl very much and it would incorporate a ‘will it start’ with a very useful project into one, great video. Plus you already have materials piles to work with. Love the channel!
Nice work. Although I am pretty sure those rings are too far gone, they might benefit from hosing in a can of Berryman’s or Seafoam (aerosol) straight into the carb at higher rpm. Follow up with half a can of the liquid version in the fuel tank, and half a can in the oil sump. Helps with burning off carbon and de-sludging. The Berryman’s in the oild will eventually boil out. The key is getting the engine hooooot by working it. Drag around a big log or something heavy and get the engine loaded up. Sure doesn’t hurt having Marvel is the mix either. I’ve used this on a couple of old tired engines in the past, and it can’t fix pitting or badly worn rings, but sure does give what you have a fighting chance.
Man your hair grows fast!!! Between the evening working on the tractor and sporting a freshly shorn noodle to the next morning assembling the ebike with a freshly grown mullet, uncanny! Lol always look forward to Nock ranch Sunday.
You need to make a hole on that plate you made for the control box up by the operator's playform for the amplifier gauge I'm actually restoring a farmall h and mine came with the factory plate
There was a guy a couple of years ago on TH-cam that bought those old farmalls and did the same u did ,but also through a coat of red paint and made a few extra bucks. I've always like those tractors Anything older. Happy new year brother
That was a great how too, easy for us dummies to understand and better then other TH-camrs that’ll spend 30 minutes on how toos using words I’ve never heard. Great channel by the way! Keep up the good work I enjoy your videos!
1. It's super common to get water in the transissions. The recessed bolts on the "floor pan" transmisison cover tend to pool water and leak into the transmission 2. Many of these were ran with non-detergent oil - so sludge is super common in motor. 3. You should have checked/adjusted valve lash - I'd still do it 4. They were low compression motors, doesn't need much to run and run well. Gas was't very good back then and I think they'll burn just about anything. I'd trying sending it. Doesn't seem like you've really worked and ran enough to get those rings seated again. 5. those starters take 12v pretty well, but becautious of overheating it.
Nice little H. How long have you run that motor? I'd just take it for a few laps around the property/village, have it running and driving for at least an hour or two with some load and RPM. Maybe getting good hot and shaken is all it really needs to get the rings back in shape, especially now with some fresh oil in the system.
Remember old equipment was using non detergent oils. They will let tons of sludge and crud accumulate without breaking it down. Not always neglect necessarily. Run detergent oil a few changes with a bit of sea foam
Myself. If I am working on something that is older and more then likely never has been rebuilt. I will stay away from things like marvel or other cleaners. You will clean out all of the carbon in the cylinders . Sounds good until you get blow by . The valves will be way out of adjustment and everything. I am saying this from personal experience . I have done it a couple of times on large engines and smaller ones . Just a little advice from a retired diesel mechanic .oh the sound in my head from the bike was more like a KLR650 . Lol ! Nice !
Im 44 and my mom still worries about me being safe to! Part of us wants to say " Mom! I have made it this long havnt i! But of course we dont say that and to be honest, It still makes us feel good knowing our mommys care! Right?
We got my grandfather 1958 Farmall 130 going 2 years ago after it sat 15 years. It burned oil for the first 20 hours of use then one day it just stopped. Use it now and the rings have come back into it.
10 Thumbs-up yea boy! great job getting ur Farmall H Tractor running and driving again. now get a small trailer, hook to ur tractor and haul stuff away, or put the stuff in a corner.
I am surprised you dont put 5 or 6 gal in and it out on your road. A little heat for a long while and your mistery oil should do a job on your rings!! A belly mower is about the limit for the old girl. Good video as always 73 dan in mo
Put about two gallons of diesel with a couple quarts of oil in the engine and run it a couple times for a couple minutes ,then drain the diesel oil out and it should clean a lot of the sludge out .
New to your channel, but loving your videos! What jump starter and power pack do you use? I have a 2007 5.9 Cummins 2500 with 433,000 miles on it. Thanks!
Battery powered tools are a lot more efficient than the compressor and air tools. Is nock ranch in Ohio, I’ll come out some weekend get some good lighting and electrical in that shop.
Valve guides probably worn out leaking oil into the cylinders. I had an old M with a lot of water in transmission. Had to put new main shaft bearings in it eventually. I don't know how long that old mag will like 12 volts.😅😅😅.
You should check out some of The Motor Oil Geek's videos sometime. He's done a video or two on motor oil additives and how they can negatively effect your engine oil. Replacing 20% of your crankcase oil with Marvel, a product formulated in the 1920s and intended as a a fuel additive, upper cylinder lube, just can't be good for an engine. Modern motor oils are carefully formulated by actual engineers who understand what the different chemicals added to motor oil do and importantly, how they effect each other, sometimes negatively if the formulation is wrong. This tractor might not be rare or particularly valuable but hopefully she has a long life ahead of her
FYI The cylinders are sleeved, kits including pistons and rings are available. Pricey undertaking... probably not worth the investment. Great content. Thanks.
Harbour freight is inexpensive chinese junk. But they have a great return policy so if one of the tools I buy there start going south I just return them before the return date expires and they always just swap it out. Half the name brand power tools are now made in china or some other country that has cheap labor. Car parts are so bad anymore it's almost impossible to find good quality parts like we had when the parts were made in america. This country is really screwing itself by allowing our factories to leave ,we are basically given china a lot of power over us and we will end up wishing we hadn't got in bed with them.
Thank you for opening the garage door while the tractor was running. Yo momma loves you.
The 2 stroke bike sound effect was priceless. You get a gold star 🌟
you had me rolling with the two-stroke sounds and E bike🤣🤣 HILARIOUS!!

Thank you!

Gotta get the dozer steering in the spring and I'll be putting that thing to work!
That segment w/the electric bike over-dubbed w/the 250cc two stroke was BRILLIANTLY DONE! Unexpected and I couldn't stop laughing. Great stuff.
The test ride is funny as hell lmao while watching the whole ride

That freakin 2stroke was hilarious 🐾🍺

Anything older.
Happy new year brother
The dirt bike noises made me lol. Also question my reality thinking it was a drone.
I LOL’d with the two stroke dirtbike sounds 😂
Keep them coming, mick!
You're doing great!
Thanks for keeping the Ron sneezing video alive 😂
You gotta get that heat working in that shop!!!! Love the vids!!!
I dooo. Just happy to have a roof tbh!
I hear ya man!!!! Keep it up!!!
The rotella scene had me dying!

Thanks pal!
Great little ^H^ go on , it deserves an Ring job & maybe some IH paint ! , Love the channel
Love your videos! Not gonna lie, the 2 stroke engine sound over the E bike had.me rolling😂😂😂!
Class job on the 12 volt conversion.
Nice work on the farm all sounds great..

You and your wife make a good couple. I like to see you guys work together. It’s hilarious. Good job.
really really enjoy the vids and look to see more
nice one loved it l like the e-bike
Great to see you Mick! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year 🎉!
I think that's a sleeve engine. Probably not too difficult to do an inframe if you decided to keep it.

Should make yourself a middle ramp. Also old oil is a good flush for chunky gear oil.
"Nice Ron", ha ha. Cool bike. It looks like the one that "Ants Pants" picked up a while back. Its perfect for your property there.
Put a crate on the back to haul tools, parts or whatever between your buildings.
That's the plan!
We got my grandfather 1958 Farmall 130 going 2 years ago after it sat 15 years. It burned oil for the first 20 hours of use then one day it just stopped. Use it now and the rings have come back into it.
Gives me hope!
She sure loves 12v. Double the angry pixies.
Marvel Mystery Oil is basically automatic transmission fluid. My career was with Texaco and we tested it in our lab.
Really enjoyed this one ty very much 👍🏻
You only wish your ebike sounded that good 😂
If you decide to dig deeper, just replace the sleeves. Be better in the long run than trying to hone the old ones.
Thanks Mick!🐾🍺
10 Thumbs-up yea boy! great job getting ur Farmall H Tractor running and driving again. now get a small trailer, hook to ur tractor and haul stuff away, or put the stuff in a corner.
lol, “ Straight On “, check out the Heart sisters, rock band called Heart.
I am surprised you dont put 5 or 6 gal in and it out on your road. A little heat for a long while and your mistery oil should do a job on your rings!! A belly mower is about the limit for the old girl. Good video as always 73 dan in mo
Thanks Dan!
Nice with the matco tools. Matco HQ is in Stow
I appreciate your channel..yea Harbour freight doesn't have a good selection of equipmnt. But it's good for the $$..just don't expect too much
Put about two gallons of diesel with a couple quarts of oil in the engine and run it a couple times for a couple minutes ,then drain the diesel oil out and it should clean a lot of the sludge out .
If you work it some the rings may come around
What is the purpose of the coloured lenses in your glasses? Is it just to improve visibility or just preference? Love the channel by the way.
It's just preference mixed with a little bit of the "big daddy" mentality haha
From the title i thought i was going to see a cummins swapped farmall for a minute there! Lol
That would be something!
New to your channel, but loving your videos!
What jump starter and power pack do you use?
I have a 2007 5.9 Cummins 2500 with 433,000 miles on it.
Thanks!
dang she's up there! I use the JNC1224. thanks for watchin!
Those parts couldn't be to expensive to repair the engine , something to think about!
Battery powered tools are a lot more efficient than the compressor and air tools. Is nock ranch in Ohio, I’ll come out some weekend get some good lighting and electrical in that shop.
Yes sir I'm in the Cleveland area!
I’m Chardon, I’ll help you spruce up nock ranch. Keep up the great videos.
Valve guides probably worn out leaking oil into the cylinders. I had an old M with a lot of water in transmission. Had to put new main shaft bearings in it eventually. I don't know how long that old mag will like 12 volts.😅😅😅.
I forgot to ask, did you figure out how the water is getting in the transmission, and differential?
possibly around the shifter plate?

Mick, that hair grew back fast. I wish I knew your secret.
get rid of the ON/OFF switch and just put a momentary button that way its all ways ready to run unless you hold the button to kill it
You need to drain the tranmission from the back
Yeah the dark shots are kinda rough, but I get it.
Nice work!
Those cylinders have liners
The nicest thing about the tractor is she's old, the patina and she purrs like a kitten. Grade 8 bolts are downright sinful on the old girl
I guess I have missed something. I hear it all over TH-cam. What is it about Fram filters?
They are HORRIBLE quality. If Fram offers you a lifetime supply, turn them down. Never run them if you like your equipment.
Fram are cheap filters poorly made. Some of the fram filters have a Cardboard bypass valve. Wix and Napa are pretty decent
It's not that hard to do a end frame on the engine, and you might have to do a full rebuild on the head.
Just curious? What do you do for work?
excavation / underground utilities 👍
Better off with a dirt bike! Then use the dozers to level out and make a track too!
Comin down the line soon!
You need to work that old tractor under a load and let it get hot and reseal the rings and burn that oil out of the cylinders..
See u next time
Those old engines are cheap and easy to rebuild if it doesn’t need machine work.
Very dangerous ground starting older tractors- lots of farmers have injured themselves !
👍👍
Pete from Just a few acres farm, channel said those filters only filter about 15% of the oil...
Valve seals bad
Sell it to a highway grass cutter contractors.. they could add a mower deck and go all day long in that ol girl..

Tractor cool! Bike gay!
good vid but please lose the music
