My Dodge has the 727 and it has been professionally overhauled and inspected annually by same shop for warranty reasons and it has been 15 years and running about 1qt high. Hasn't hurt it yet.

You need to adjust the bands on the 48re went ever you do a tune up, your transmission will last longer.

Damn that truck is actually in really great shape underneath!!! I’m sure you guys get lots of the lovely salt on the roads done there, we get the same where I’m at in the Hudson valley of New York 😂, I started fluid filming my truck a while back and boy does it work great!!✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻

Whenever I have changed tras fluid, it never fails. Just as I am dropping the pan the wind always blows….everywhere. Still waiting for you the mis-judge the garage door height. 😳

Great video! Pease keep us updated on how your transmission is doing after that fluid change. I want to do that to mine but with past experience, my transmissions always went bad after a fluid change when the fluid looked like that. But I'm also talking 90's vehicles. I really hope it makes it last, then I will do mine. Love your channel, I always look forward to seeing your next video.

I’ve been waiting for this ever since you bought the auto Cummins. I bought a 3rd gen (thanks to your videos) and found a great deal on a 6 speed. Insightful and uplifting, as usual Mr. Nock!

Nv4500/5500 swap or g56. Get good clutch disks. Manuals i think are better for big hauls

Tiny bit over full is fine in my opinion. Just a little extra fluid mass in the sump of the engine or transmission, shouldn't hurt anything unless its really over filled.
Enjoying the videos, looking forward to see what's next!

I made the mistake of buying a dodge diesel pickup in 2010. It was literally in the repair shop more then I drove it . After 3 years of frustration and anger I traded it back in for a Toyota four wheel drive . Ive not had one issue with the Toyota in the 13 years and 100,000 miles. This is the 5th Toyota ive owned and id buy american if they made vehicles that didn't fall apart or constantly break down like my Toyota.
But I will say if you abuse a dodge you are in for a world of misery. They seem to be the gift that keeps on giving. But they are most likely made out of out sourced parts from China or Mexico, the old saying you get what you pay for doesnt apply to American made products anymore.

My Boss has a 3 year old Ram1500 5.7 it has 80000 KMS on it. My early 1999 7.3 diesel F250 with 630000 and my 2010 5.4 F150 with 325000 are more reliable than that Rams been from new . Yeah some months we forget what that Ram looks like the service department put more KMS on fixing it, than we do using it for work. Then He said before Christmas he was thinking on trading for a new Ram, but they'd only give him 25k for it, and you could only get the Ram storage boxes we want on a higher spec/price model now L.O.L.

Naw man being over a little doesn't matter as much as people think... And for future reference, if you think you have some internal seal issues put a splash of brake fluid in there, it'll help to swell seals up to get ya some more miles out of them before you take it for rebuild.. poor man's fix lolol

Usually the worst that will happen if overfilled is they will spit it out the breather vent. Half a quart in a big trans like that is nothing 😊

The gov wants to dump Acid all over the roads, they'll get the oily product in return. Gotta do something.
I used everything from lube grease " on the frame", transmission fluid, engine oil, "NH oil undercoating, is decent" and finally" Fluid Film" "Pretty good". To be honest in all the years, used trans Fluid seems to be the best. Cost effective and the steel after having been coated even SEEMS to LOOK cleaner, like derustified😂...figure that out?
I do have a Paint style air sprayer that I use. But be careful not to breath the contents after it aresols... if everyone took this time, there would be nothing but Good Trucks floating around the Rust belt.

Many different opinions but I had a Chrysler factory transmission assembler mechanic tell me to never ever “flush” a transmission you will cause premature clutch failures because as they wear the extra clutch material suspended in the fluid will help them last longer

Not sure if it’s available for your truck allot of times you can find upgraded transmission pans with drain plugs and there not to expensive

Mickel-Angelo: the problem with overfilling your oil - as I understand it - is overheating. Whatever compartment your oil inhabits, however large or small, is a finite compartment. Oil conducts heat better than air, and it expands with heat, so if you fill the entire compartment with oil (no air for cooling), you'll cook your oil (ruining it) and potentially swell/pressurize the compartment, ruining seals, etc. That's how it's been explained to me, anyway. I guess the smaller the compartment, the less room for error you have. Keep up the good vids.
