    I'm achieving nice sound on my lml however the stock turbo just isn't cutting it when it comes to turbo wine. It is fine because the truck is amazing, and it makes awesome power. HSP piping must be the next step and probably the turbo and its looking like I'll go with the 64mm for this off road beast. Thanks JW for the great videos.

    Can you still get the turbo whistle if you don’t straight pipe it? Is there a tune or anything ?

    The turbo Idle whistle on a big diesel really reminds me of Diesel-Electric Locomotive idles and revs, because they dont usually rev higher than 1200.

    Do you have a turbo intake for a 2011 LML? My truck is deleted and tuned but it doesn’t whistle like I want it too. I was suggested down pipe and manifold? I also don’t have a switch for my tune it’s just a 75hp single tune. I was also told not enough power to create that air flow? Thoughts?

    Will you still get the whistle if you don’t upgrade the down pipe and just put 4in pipe?

    I’m looking into getting my first duramax. Ide prefer a pre emissions truck. I know the LB7, LLY and LBZ all have there own flaws. But I’m not sure what would be best for a first duramax.

    • @outreach953
      @outreach953 ปีที่แล้ว

      LB7 are good trucks u just have to see how the injectors are and if there good or have been replaced recently i would go LB7. LLY and LBZ have there flaws to but they also have the EGR system so u could get a clean LB7 thats worth it and if u ever look to make power with it LB7 is a good platform to do that on dont hate on the LB7s do to the fact they have the injectors on the inside of the valves its a pain but it can make alot of power compared to a LBZ wish you the best of luck

      I still have my first diesel, it’s a ‘03 LB7 with about 240k with an 8”lift on 37x13.5r20’s. I replaced the injectors, added a sump kit with an air dog 160 & a 90hp clean tune & running straight pipe w/a 4” exhaust. I wouldn’t trade it for nothing

    Rolling coal don’t hurt the engine that bad diesel is a lubricant oil fuel all ur doing is lubing the cylinder yea it can wash them out if U have to much fuel but I’d rather deal with that then my truck chocking on its own fart coming from the egr system lol 😂 it’s like asking us humans to breath in ur already breathed in air u ain’t gonna breath as well

    • @thurston383

      It’s not the excess fuel that’s an issue, it’s the incomplete combustion, unnecessary carbon deposits build up over time

    I just picked an 04.5 LLY , it’s my second diesel so I’m still learning. Before this I had a 94 6.5td , what a dog it was even built up it wasn’t anything special. I’m looking to do exhaust on my LLY . You said in your video you can do 4 or 5” and you don’t need to do anything to the tune ( just confirming ). I have already done the S&B turbo mouth piece and their cold air intake. I also see in the comments you recommended 4” if you don’t want a drone . I wanna hear that turbo sing but I don’t want heavy drone while Towing long distances.

    I’d love to no what the process is to deleting a l5p start to finish. Can’t really find any videos of step by step and can’t really find anyone talking about the steps. But good video and will definitely help some people who aren’t sure and buy an exhaust and wonder why they don’t hear it.

    If you want your turbo exhaust to sound like a jet u must change the exhaust turbine to a 03 turbine it’s a 10 blade turbine that give your exhaust that loud whistle versus the 15 blade in the new model turbo vehicles.
