Thank you very much Kelly. Its been a long time since I had a puppy and your video was perfect for me, and a lot of others as well. You are so amazing with your dogs! They are all adorable. 😘❤
Cara Dion thank you so much for the feedback. I hope the video helps her with her shepherd, but since shepherds are large dogs those puppies can definitely go longer between meals. Tiny sweetie pies need to eat more often because they don’t care much energy on their small frames.
I started off with a routine like this and then Dempsey and I tweaked it between us. He wakes me at about half 5 and after doing what he does in the garden he has breakfast and we go back to bed.😂 He snores his head off until 10 some days and doesn't notice when I get up. Kelly, I feel used!! This guy is freeloading.😮🐶 He eats 4 times a day but won't eat what's in the dish at the next mealtime, so I just lift the dish now and we do a happy dance at his next mealtime. Sometimes the kibble is the same stuff he left from the meal before but with a little chicken mixed through. He likes veg and tuna and eggs but he won't eat wet dog food. It's a nice feeling to have a daily routine that suits me too, but since I'm retired its all based on his needs and body clock which means happy dog and happy Mama👌😆🐶💃 Oh, I'm thinking of setting up a crowd funding page for Tabitha and her family. Those people need knees ! I have artificial legs and real feet so I get their vibe.💖 Love to all things Swiftfully inclined. 🙋🐶🌈
🤔😂 Dempsey is one smart cookie! He knows how to be king! Little manipulator, he is!!! And isn't it wonderful? 😍 How boring live would be without a sweetie pie to spoil and happy dance with!! 😂😂😂 You're just so thoughtful wanting to raise money for Tabitha's kneeless family. I laughed so hard when I read this. I'm only just beginning to learn animation and you should have seen my first attempt at making them walk. I had their legs swing back and forth (kneeless, of course) but it just didn't look right at all 😂 so I removed the leg rotations and just had them float. Hopefully some day I'll be much better and animation so Tabitha's family can all have accurate joins. Side note, James and I and our daughter all LOVE reading your comments. We sit in the office cracking up and inevitably your comments come up in our conversations throughout the day. We love hearing from you and Dempsey. ❤️
this was very helpful!:) before getting my little sweetie she was pad trained. how do i switch that? btw my parents r not training her right. i personally am not around enough to take her outside so my parents take her out with my mom's elderly sweetie pies. it's hard to tell my dad to do something o how do i train her to go outside? my father and mother also do a BIG no no when she does something wrong.
Is a crate okay for nighttime? Instead of resting area? I hear that is good to promote sleeping time and a safe place and not any accidents. I have it so he can see me still and can kind of tell me he needs out. Do you think a larger area is better so he can still eat/drink while were asleep? Thanks
A crate is fine, yes. That's perfect for him to be able to see you and let you know if he needs out. I would still put food and water inside the crate in case he needs a drink or a snack in the night.
I’m loving your training videos. I’ve adapted the sweetest little part chihuahua part terrier. She 12 weeks old about 2 lbs and I treat her like a chi, I have the wonderful playpen that you’ve mentioned but prior to receiving it we gave her the run of downstairs which was probably a little overwhelming. I love when she want to cuddle but I think she thinks my lap is her nap place. When I put her in her she gets very upset. I’m hoping that if I give her regular times in her pen throughout the day with the door shut, she’ll get used to it. I would like to keep her in there when I have to leave the house for any amount of time. We’ve let her sleep in bed with us during this first week of her being with us, but I think I would feel more comfortable if she was in her own sleeping space I’m wondering if we could make that happen. Thank you for your videos. They’re very informative.
Hey, I am just wondering if you could answer the question what to expect when you bring a new chi pup home to an elderly chi? We're on our second week now and I just would love to know if what is going on is normal? My elderly chi is 12 and she can be quite aggy with him and she seems to be sulking a lot, she also hurt him last night cause he jumped on her when she was fast asleep, he was completely fine and I think she scared him more than anything. Many thanks, Sophie xc
Great video but I cannot decide if I should do puppy pads or outside. I do not have a fence but I have always taken my dogs outside but she will still need shots when I get her so is it best do use the pads?
There is some risk involved letting your sweetie pie go outside before she's had all her shots . . . especially if your yard isn't fenced. You might start with potty pads and then transition to outside after her shots. I like to have them trained for both options so they can go anytime they need on the pad inside, but if I let them out early enough in the morning and often enough throughout the day, they don't even use the pads.
Sweetie Pie Pets thank you so much to replying to me. I get her in exactly a week so I wanted to make sure I set my schedule up so I can be available a lot to play and watch her and train to use the pads. So I will definitely use the pads and not take her outside until she is done with her shots. I am getting a chihuahua and your videos have been so awesome. I’m so glad I came across your channel. I have been up late every night watching training videos, puppy hauls for everything that is needed and so forth. I have not had a puppy in so long but I’m super excited.

I need help with my chihuahua 😫 my chihuahua doesn’t like his food. I give him blue buffalo and he smells it and walks away he will eat only when he’s starving. He forces himself to eat it. He’s really picky what do I do? What dog food are out there that are tasty for chihuahua. Help!!
Sweetie Pie Pets he’s 1 year 3 months. And he’s been ok blue buffalo for about 8 months. And I know he isn’t sick or anything because what he does is he doesn’t eat his food in hopes of getting better food from my family. And then if throughout the day no one gave him tasty food he will eat his dog food. That’s just why I’m saying he will only eat it when he’s starving 🤦🏽♂️ he will eat our human food with pleasure but not his. That’s how I know nothing is wrong with him he’s just picky!!!
Hi Kelly. I just got my SweetyPie Yesterday. And I have some difficulty with Potty training. I have prepared a pellet litter for her. But in the end she turn out to be too small to reach it so I had to turn to Pad. She does pee on it for 85% of the time i'd say. But she dont poop on it and I dont really know why she run far from the pad to poop but pee on the pad.
85% of the time is actually quite good for her first day at her new home. Praise her every single time she goes on the pad. A suggestion for you, don't let her roaming area be large enough that she can even go far away from the pad. That makes her chances of success much higher. Only enlarge her roaming area a tiny but at a time AFTER she masters making it to the pad 100% of the time. Don't worry, she will eventually get it. Patience and consistency. ❤️❤️❤️
@@SweetiePiePets Also how many time should she poop a day ? U often talk about pee every 2h which she does but she barely poop once or twice a day I dont know if its normal

I wish my sweety pie had a biological time he just pees randomly and this is the biggest frustration I have :( and doesn’t even sleep 10 hours. He looks healthy and all and VERY PLAYFULL. I am a bad parent :( I know I do something wrong but I don’t know how to fix it.
How old is he? And have you tried the 2 crates together method? Generally they do not want to potty in their den area so that system generally works excellent to train them where to go. th-cam.com/video/mwx2lun7Vm8/w-d-xo.html
