I go to Ireland once a year, it’s really hard to find out what’s going on and where. There internet is so out of date it’s ridiculous , on top of that, the six week’s holiday, it’s nearly impossible to get a dance or drum lesson. Do as much research before you go, so your not disappointed, I find sessions and events were better advertised in the North and Donegal .
First heard this song sung by Gearoid in Reidy's front room in Killarney, which had a capacity of about 8 people. It was a great night of music for the 8 of us!
@@joehealy2477 I'm assuming your being facetious. I've had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Thompson several times on stage. A triple threat talent like his is all too rare.
richard's version still rules. This one just doesn't convey the heart hurt and regret that Richard's does. They totally missed the mark. Sorry, just truth
This is so wrong, an absolute discrace!. Richard Thompson's Beeswing is a beautiful, delicate love song, not a cheap, throwaway Irish song. Listen to the original.
Disgrace is a bit much, dontcha think? The original is a far better song, without question. They abandoned the vibe entirely for this one, and left off like, half the story or more. But it's not as bad as all that.
I'm after putting my foot through the floor listening to this! 🇮🇪
This is exactly the feeling I’m looking for in this song!! I heard a friend play this on the weekend with the same fire.
Love it.
Great stuff! The dancing, the music. One day I’ll get to Ireland.
It's an English song, hence the "down in Kent" lyrics. Just gets covered a lot by Irish artists

Really good yeah well done
He mentioned Dingle Pub!
I love listening to all renditions of this great song .. but my fave is still Galway Street Club.
Best version one year ago. Celtic woman did a nice cover. But I would listen to this one again. Nicely done
Brilliant version only thing is over half the song is missing 😥, still, the music more than compensates for that
if you want the best version of this song & you haven't heard it already listen to Roy Baily's
Bliathin O’Se…is she about?
This is very very good…second to Cooper Black’s version
Not the best version by a long shot. Best version is still by the author, Richard Thompson - his makes me cry.
The version by john smith from the livestream with the white background is my personal fav and worth a listen to any fans of this song
Exactly.
Can't be great if it makes you cry 😅😅

@@robinbickel4594the Futureheads do a great accapella version and really out their own stamp on the song.
Not even close!
Dingle Pub
This a very sad song. The singer is full of regret. You wouldn't think so listening to this
richard's version still rules. This one just doesn't convey the heart hurt and regret that Richard's does. They totally missed the mark. Sorry, just truth
It's good, but the bouncy tempo doesn't really match the sadness of the song.
Wisthling donkeys version is better
Jesus - this is the best - really? It's a version, sure, but....

oh give over will ya, people chant fields of athenry in the pub

It's not the Christy Moore Version so it's far from the best
It's a good version but not the best version.
Good dancer..average singer..heard it sang alot better
Definitely Richard Thompson best version, this good aswell though
