Can it cold foil on felt materials like Estate Stocks?

Hi. If you had a specific one in mind we'd have to try it but we think we'd be able to print on most of them 40 to 600 microns. Some of the coated materials you would need treating first perhaps. Please feel free to contact us at info@edale.com and we can discuss further.

Does this cold foil ever start oxidizing in time?

It depends on the foil. Many are aluminium which while it oxidises really quickly, the layer of oxidation actually creates a barrier preventing it from degrading further. Obviously, friction over time will wear it like any printed product but it's fairly robust especially if you laminate over it. We just use the stuff to create embellishments on our machines, somebody like Kurz who supplies the foil could tell you much much more! :)

what is the significant difference between hotstamp and coldfoil ?

    • @Edale

Hi Tegar, hot stamp uses a heated die tool and will also emboss/deboss the substrate. It can create a more detailed effect though hot foiling is significantly more expensive. We can offer both - if you want to discuss options please contact us at info@edale.com
