I feel like Drapion could’ve replaced Crawdaunt or at Least made it as an honorable mention. It has base 500 stats with 90 physical attack. It’s most interesting quality is that it has access to the ability sniper which powers up crits substantially. It has Cross Poison and Night slash for stab which those moves make it more likely to get a crit. You could also run swords dance if you really want to 1-2 hit pretty much everything. It gets great coverage with moves like the elemental fangs,X-scissor,brick break,EQ, or even Iron Tail or Aerial ace. It’s also a little physically bulky with a 110 defense stat and can out speed a lot of what an opponent will throw out with a 95 speed stat.
I feel like Honorable Mentions should start occurring before the number 1 spot. And Greninja's definitely one that could have been here. It's ability Protean makes it amazing! (Now I know Protean can make it not a dark type but that's besides the point)

Even though it's not in SwSh/BDSP, I gotta give an honorable mention to my favorite dark type (and favourite Pokemon): Greninja. Greninja isone of the most broken Pokemon in Gen 6 OU thanks to Protean. With Protean, every coverage move Gren has will be STAB: - Low Kick for walls such as Blissey - HP Fire for Scizor and Lucario - Shadow Sneak for Rapid Spin users - Gunk Shot for Fairy types - Spikes for Electric types/ Volt Switch The list goes on and on. If this list isn't restricted to SwSh/BDSP OU, Greninja will be in top 5 (even top 3) Call it overrated all you want, but you can't deny that the Kalos ninja-frog is powerful enough to deserve that spot.
Another point for tyranitar would be having the ability to create sandstorms, which would cause trouble for opponents plus having a mega evolution form.

I've used half of the Pokémon on this list, namely Obstagoon, Incineroar, Crawdaunt, Krookodile, and Weavile in Showdown. So I can say that this list is pretty solid all around, and it actually makes me want to use the others, too. That doesn't usually happen for me in a type. So yeah, the Dark type is a very solid one. Though a personal honorable mention from me does go to Honchkrow, my favorite Dark type. Throw together Super Luck or Moxie, a Scope Lens or a Choice Scarf, an Attack stat of 125, and some great moves like Night Slash and Brave Bird, and this Big Boss Pokémon is a powerful force not to be reckoned with. Easily one of my favorite Pokémon right there.

My girl Weavile made it to number 1 baby!!! With that said, Weavile serves as a great lancer compared to the description Mystic gave it. Don't run heavy boots or choice scarf. Run Expert belt instead. Catch an Impish nature Sneasel and then run Swords Dance/Honed Claw, Ice Punch, Night Slash, and Brick Break for Coverage. Weavile with this move set will have an 11/18 type advantage with massive damage boost with Expert Belt boosting super effective moves. Def, Atk, and Speed EV training will allow this Mon to tank some fighting type moves as well. HonedClaw is perfect for a slight boost in Atk and excellent in boost Accuracy.
It's not exactly "massive" when u only get a 1.2 boost. Say you have 2× super effective ice punch into something: 75 × 1.5 (stab) × 2 (super effective) × 1.2 (expert belt) = 270. That's assuming you get a super effective hit, since you need that to even get the boost. You're better off running hdb, band, life orb, or scarf with adamant nature than holding expert belt for such a small power boost that isn't even reliable."11/18" types super effectively is nice but what about all the dual typings? Tbh weaviles job isn't really to sweep, just knock off whatever it can and take care of lando and garchomp. Knock off, ice punch, ice shard, low kick is probably the best moves etc although that's just for me personally
@@abidali4527 I do. I like having that extra Def and when you train EV for Speed, Atk, and Def you get a well rounded mon that can take on even some fighting types. The 'Choice' items are great at boosting Speed or Atk and what have you. However, I don't care limiting myself to one move then withdraw and put back into play to use another move. 20% boost from the Expert Belt is plenty and if you remember the types you have an advantage against that is very helpful against most enemies. Hone Claws is a great option in case you come across an opponent who is weird and uses double team or has high evade. Further, my build can make Weavile a more Tanky sweeper than you think. Ice Shard? Who needs Priority when there are so few who can out speed a Weavile? Granted Ice Shard on Weavile does have STAB 60 power when used, but STAB Ice Punch easy hits 112.5. Admittedly 'Knock Off' is a good choice. But Nightslash is not a bad one either. I'm sure we can agree to disagree and just go with our own preferred builds.
@@dikayevertear3509 but weavile isn't "bulky". It's frail af, so you might as well capitalise on it and run max atk and speed. Ice shard as priority is to grab kills on chipped scarf mons and also scale shot garchomp. Although tbf ur right, agree to disagree.

@@melvondrewhite2674 Incineroar is a joke in Single Battles whereas Weavile is a staple in the defacto tier. The game encompasses single battles, VGC, TCG, and more. It's not just one bubble. Incineroar is a menace and very polarizing with the kind of support it brings to partner pokemon but really bad without pokemon for it to support. In a double battle format, the bulky support pokemon incineroar is good for a number of reasons. With access to fake out, parting shot, stab 146BP knock off on Pokemon w/items. In other words it can flinch counters to the supported pokemon of choice, ensure that Pokemon's domination and on top of that pivot its teammates into a weakened target with parting shot. Its Dark typing makes it unwise to pre switch into a ghost type, and its part Fire typing discourages counterplay with pokemon like Mimikyu as it grants a Fairy neutrality. Intimidate let's it neutralize Zacian, its partial fire typing forces Zacian to run fighting coverage instead of stab play rough, and finally its ability to run almost any item makes it a very versatile *teammate* . Yet all this does nothing in single battles, it is a shot Pokemon in singles. People could care less about fake out as a result of the plethora of fighting, ground, and fairy types with SE coverage. There is no partner pokemon for incineroar to assist in order to keep itself alive. On the topic of fairy types, what is it going to do against Primarina in a single battle? Nothing as a defensive pokemon as with speed investment it loses out on bulk to deal with primarina since parting shot does not have increased priority against offensive primarina it will lose.
I still think Umbreon should be in the list, I think it does better than Mandibuzz. But hey we appreciate your effort to make sure the list is not biased, I hope Ice type comes next! 🧊
The 1-5 list is missing a Pokémon, and a Pokémon that has played in Ubers. 1. Greninja (yes, it has Protean, but it starts as Water/Dark; moreover, it is the only Pokémon on this list to have Uber placings) 2. Incineroar (only a doubles/vgc superstar) 3. Weavile (the highest placement for Weavile, also it doesn't see any play outside singles.) 5. Drapion (it needed to be on the list, not necessarily here at #5. Drapion is highly under explored and underrated)

I’m pretty sure it’s just based on the sword and shield meta and unfortunately greninja isn’t available… but if it was it would definitely be top 3!
@@thomaslykins8616 Yah , Maybe
@@kylereimatanguihan9731 True. Without team preview zoroark would be an absolute pain to deal with.
@@SLSmartMind at least on the list lol
Umbreon better be here 😂
Why isn't Greninja on the list?
No Greninja? That thing was really dangerous with Protean and Ash-Greninja version. It often got banned.
I think I’d reshuffle like this
10. Krookodile
9. Obstagoon
8. Mandibuzz
7. Hydreigon
6.Crawdaunt
5. Bisharp
4. Grimmsnarl
3. Incineroar
2. Weavile
1. T Tar
Good video. Thanks for putting in work!
BISHARP IN THE TOP 5!? LET'S GO
LETS GO! weavile is my favorite for that exact reason 😏
I've been watching your vids for years man, thank you for all the great content you make!
I like how he used the Johto Journeys lyric part "It's a whole new world we'll live in, but we still got take catch em all" nostalgia.
Love the video and keep up the great work
Oh yeah these dark types are so cool and I'm just glad they're pretty strong and good overall
I’ve been a fan of Sneasel all the way back when I was playing GS and today Sneasel/Weavile are my favorites still.
I’m surprised that Greninja isn’t on the list
12:34 These Pokémon grouped together like this unironically looks like a ragtag gang of villains.
Shame Umbreon wasn't on here, but you still did well with this list.
My man. Love this list
Can you change the umbreon intro for countdown? It's good and all but it's just kinda too long as countdown and little annoying since it's been used for more than a year i think but it's okay if u don't want to ,it's just mo .
Nah weavile def not #1 💀 that shit falls apart when it gets tickled
Mega Tyranitar is the best non legendary Dark type pokemon. But if you include legendary it's gonna be
1. Yveltal
2. Hoopa Unbound
3. Darkrai
4. Mega Tyranitar
5. Ash Greninja
6. Mega Gyarados
7. Hydreigon
8. Urshifu SS
9. Zarude
10. Galarian Moltres
Honorable Mentions of Mega Houndoom, Mega Absol, Guzzlord, Mega Sharpedo, and Incineroar
If you didnt include Megas, Drapion would be a great Honorable Mention/even Number 10
@@darianclark3980 My Non legendary/Megas are
1. Ash Greninja
2. Tyranitar
3. Hydreigon
4. Incineroar
5. Krookodile
6. Weavile
7. Zoroark
8. Hisuian Samurott
9. Bisharp
10. Overqwill
Hold up...Greninja ain't here, I'm actually surprised
consider my expectations subverted honestly thought Greninja would be a tiop contender
Glad . U r back
Nobody is talking about a Team killer: morpeko is a electric-dark Pokémon with an exceptional attack and speed, it can learn lots of coverage and if it has aura wheel have fun seeing it going faster than speed of light, i Made a monotype with him using aura wheel, ice fang, stompting trantum and protect. It is a beast, i think that he would deserved an honorific mention
Some video ideas:
{Best offensive pokemons
Best defensive pokemons
Best support pokemons
Best trap setters
Best specal attackers
Best physical attackers
Best special walls
Best physical walls}
With best suited items and move sets

Top 10 best non legendary pokemons
I really thought Greninja would be 1st.
What’s the best dark Pokémon in violet? I haven’t got anyone to trade with
U serious asking this king your kingambit .
Nice 👌 list mystic
How was Umbreon left off a Mystic Umbreon dark list? Lol
I’m sure someone has already pointed this out, but you left in two takes of the mandibuzz outro as you were transitioning to the number 8 spot.
Why is there no greninja and umbreon their hood this is probably of recency games ?
Mandibuzz is my favorite gen 5 pokemon. I've always been interested in turkey vultures which Mandibuzz is based on.
Definitely excited. I’m an evil type Pokémon trainer.
I wouldnt give weavile the #1 spot its easily out classed by a mach punch.
YESSS it makes me feel good that Bisharp is atleast in the top 5
So gimmicky pokemon that suck unless their gimmick is pulled off are better than the two most dominant dark types of all time? What is the deal with these lists
My favorite dark type pokemon are Incineroar, Bisharp, Weavile, Obstagoon, Grimmsnarl, Krookodile, Greninja and Urshifu.
Ground types next please
Lil sad that drapion wasn't on the list
Here’s a challenge, top 10 dual type
I know Mighteyena isn’t the best but it’s probably my favorite dark type I’ve used I really only play gen 3 tho
I'm sorry, in what world is weavile better than incineroar?
Exactly ..
Shadypenguinn has a really good defensive hydriegon set from back in the day 😂
Can we do a strongest legendary video? Always been wondering who is the best out of emeral or platinum, etc
The 1-5 list is missing a Pokémon, and a Pokémon that has played in Ubers.
1. Greninja (yes, it has Protean, but it starts as Water/Dark; moreover, it is the only Pokémon on this list to have Uber placings)
2. Incineroar (only a doubles/vgc superstar)
3. Tyranitar (my favorite, and the only Pokémon on this list to be OU in both singles and doubles, and for every generation since Tyranitar's debut)
4. Weavile (the highest placement for Weavile, also it doesn't see any play outside singles.)
5. Drapion (it needed to be on the list, not necessarily here at #5. Drapion is highly under explored and underrated)
We did it boys, Bisharp is on the list
I am very happy with this list. I was expecting a few entries so not many surprises.
Please Bug types next. Or Fairy types
The thing about the fairy type is that is that it makes sense for it to be last as it is the newest type….
@@the-angel-of-light-gardevoir8 I guess
My top 10 favorite Dark types
10.) Crawdaunt
9.) Mightyena
8.) Umbreon
7.) Galarian Linoone
6.) Hydreigon
5.) Weavile
4.) Honchkrow
3.) Krookodile
2.) Tyranitar
1.) Bisharp
Bisharp is number 1 on my list. Despite is x4 weakness to Fighting like Alolan Raticate and Galarian Linoone, it is one of a few Dark types that are neutral to Fairy with its Dark/Steel typing. A base 125 Physical Attack is nothing to laugh at
I guarantee bisharp takes more damage from a neutral moonblast than ttar lmao.
Scrafty, Greninja and Honchkrow are some of my face dark types
What's the name of his what-if channel I can't find it in the description
Can we talk about how insane the blackthorn gym would be if they made a let’s go johto game
Where is Greninja??
I like Tyranatar, Absol, Weavile, Scrafty, Krookadile, Sableye, and Grimmsnarl.
My favorite Pokemon is Number 1 This is an Absolute W
umbreon take the cake on this one, especially when it had toxic
Flying types next, that should be interesting.
How is there no Greninja!?!
I cant believe umbreon didn't make the list.
Wake up, new vid. Nice 👌
What's the soundtrack playing in top 9?
Dark is probs my favorite type, and Krookadile is my favorite pokemon. I always wear aviators so krookadile just clicks with me xD
I wish the evolved froms of the regional could exist in the original forms as well and i wish the regional forms were removed as well
I love this channel
The outtro for mandibuzz was painful
Scraggy should of been on the list good defences and can set up with dragon dance I’d put it around 7 and move krokodile up
Hisuan Samurott, Incineroar, Obstagoon, Bisharp, Grimmsnarl, Spiritomb, Drapion, Alolan Muk, Hydreigon and Tyranitar
Weavile over T-tar? WHAT??
@i can’t think of a name Weavile can't take a hit and the better movepool is not that easy to determine.
tyranitar is my favorite. So cool
Anyone knows soundtrack playing in 2 minutes and 10 seconds in video?
You forget greninja I know That he's isn't in generation 8 but come on
