"Shuffle off to Buffalo, Sit by the Lake watch the world go by". This guy wrote some of the best rock and roll EVER. Phenomenal songwriter, musician, vocalist, and MAN.
Bubba Roberts ..Agree! My older brothers & I use to play his along with The Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder, J5, Three Dog Night, Billy Joel, Elton, Smokey & The Miracles, BeeGees, The Ohio Players, The Temptations, Boston, Christoper Cross, Andy Gibb, The Supremes, The Four Tops, Bobby Goldsbero, Jim Croce, Cher, Barry Manilow, The Osmonds, Barry White, Led Zeppelin, The Styx, The Rolling Stones, Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, The Monkees, Jimi Hendrix, Carole King, Aretha Franklin, Elvis, Patty LaBelle, ..etc...Those were the times of true Rock❤️👍✨
When I was very young, 2, maybe 3, John Fogerty's voice was ringing out through my dads Sansui speakers, played from reel to reel, belting out CCR tunes. Indelibly marked on my soul for all time. I cannot hear his voice without tearing back through time, back to innocence and happiness undimmed by age or experience. I'm not sorry about the time that's passed. But I do wish there'd been more songs like this between then and now.
Awww dude I was born in ‘82, I listened to this driving out to the lake with my dad in his ‘81 Ford F-150 from day one. Still smell the pines when we crossed the boarder. Cheers!
Still remember my dad’s 45 of “hey tonight”. Had no idea who it was, but I loved listening to it. Even when I was about 5, I knew there was something special about this guy!
Teenage Steve Douglas sax,Albert Lee guitar,Duck Dunn bass,Booker T keys and JR Robinson on drums I think. My 15 yrold brain was growing up 40 years ago...loved it...pure rock and roll
I heard this while I was grocery shopping and I was like “what’s the name this is really good” I found out the name and this has bein on my replay list for a good few days John is a fantastic singer
Ojala que cada quien haga lo que mas le gusta en su vida. JF nacio para cantar. ERES GENENIAL.Aqui en la madrugada y no puedo parar de oir esta canción.
My dad passed away in Sept. 22. We always used to send us youtube-links to great music, that we both liked. A few weeks after his passing, this was the first video i saw. I sent him the link, just as i always used to do, but broke into tears in the same second. I miss you, dad ❤
I remember year 86. In the mili in Cádiz. San Fernando. The Marina. Lying down listening to this beautiful song. What memories.... ❤️🇪🇦❤️🇪🇦❤️🇪🇦😃😃😃😘😘😘☺️
I do have one beef with John Fogerty. I saw him play in Asheville NC in November of 2004. I was near the front screaming at the top of my lungs for him to play this song and he did not. Mr.Fogerty you owe me.
I knew it! I always thought that was Albert Lee back when I first saw this as a teenager in the awesome 80s. Thanks for confirming what I always suspected.
Went to the John Fogerty/John Mellencamp concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 2005. Fogerty opened for Mellencamp. Love both but think it should of been the other way around. At one point during Mellencamps set, John Fogerty joined Mellencamp on stage and both sat side by side playing & singing. After the song, Mellencamp says to Fogerty "Where the hell did you get that amazing voice?" Loved that!
From the album "Centerfield", 1985 Sometimes I think life is just a rodeo, The trick is to ride and make it to the bell. But there is a place, sweet as you will ever know, In music and love, and things you never tell. You see it in their face, secrets on the telephone, A time out of time, for you and no one else. Chorus: Hey let's go all over the world, Rock and roll girls, rock and roll girls. Yeah, yeah, yeah! If I had my way, I'd shuffle off to buffalo; Sit by the lake, and watch the world go by. Ladies in the sun, listenin' to the radio, Like flowers on the sand, a rainbow in my mind. Chorus Chorus Chorus Yeah, yeah yeah!
One Of My All Time Favorites And From CCR John Fogerty Singing My Favorite Song Rock And Roll Girls Here's To You John Y'all Have Always Been My Favorite Singer Since CCR Thank Y'all Very Much.
John Fogerty wrote Rock n Roll Girls for his daughter Laurie and her friend. He also wrote Lookin Out My Back Door for his son, Josh. I don't think he ever wrote a song for his other son, Sean (from his first marriage).
If I could go "all over the world, rock 'n' roll girls," I'd start with Peru, myryckyz! I'd take this track with me and others by Fogerty. Love how his voice breaks into a bit of falsetto, and the great blast of saxophone is perfect. I met him in 2000 when he ran into a car outside my place, on 16th Ave. South in Nashville (Music Row). Not his best day. Traffic police were over 90 minutes showing up. He was probably glad to move back to Berkeley.
Happy Birthday John Fogerty born on May 28, 1945. He is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. Together with Doug Clifford, Stu Cook, and his brother Tom Fogerty, he founded the band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), for which he was the lead singer, lead guitarist, and principal songwriter. CCR had nine top-10 singles and eight gold albums between 1968 and 1972, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Fogerty

Absolutely nothing good about New York, let alone buffalo of all places
Well times certainly do change @@JohnPotter-sn7qy
After reading so much about Creedence, I’m not sure how much of a good man he is 😅
But damn it he really knows how to write a song…
@@JohnPotter-sn7qy I respectfully and emphatically disagree
One of the voices that defined rock and roll. Fogarty is a legend.
One of his lost songs that should never be forgotten

Some rock'n roll band vocals have unparalleled (and unforgettable) voices, John Fogerty is one of them!
Well said
Willie Nelson has a very distinguished voice for the country genre.

When I was young, it was through my old man's hi fi system that had Bose speakers. Absolutely loved it, still do.
I had some really cool school teachers back in 1970, we learned to sing Looking Out My Backdoor, I can still belt it out.

All are gone forever because of techno and hip hop.
Popped into my head today for no reason. Had to play it.
John Fogerty just has it all... great voice, good on that guitar, and good on the eye.
The big guitar sound is and always will be the most universal and timeless sound in the history of Rock n Roll music...

1 of the best John Fogerty songs.CENTERFIELD CASSETTE i wore out & play once a week.hope he puts out a simple ROCK & ROLL album.
G R A C I A S! I´m enjoying this song!
He could sing the worst song and make it sound great. What a talent.
He did, "Center Field." That's not where the benchwarmers play, "Here in right field..."
I very much doubt that something like that would be in his repertoire. But I like the comment. Rock on Mr John Fogerty.🇦🇺❤🇺🇲👋

It does. It was called John Fogerty's Rock and Roll All Stars and first aired on Showtime. George Thorogood interviewed John on it.
It was shot on Warner Brothers lot when Centerfield was released.a favorite of mine. All the videos from the album are GREAT.
