The story of the only existing racing Ferrari 250 GT Lusso | Goodwood Revival

- There are rare cars and there are rare cars. This is the latter. This 1962 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso was a placeholder for a Ferrari client as he waited for his 250 GTO to go racing, but we'd argue that this is the prettier of the two. As the Lusso was made for touring Europe in comfort and style, it isn't perhaps the best Ferrari to take to the circuit, but it is undoubtedly one of if not the rarest. Originally, there were only 3 Lussos racing, but we understand this to be the last remaining.
We spoke to the car's owner, Christopher Stahl, about the car's history and what it's like to race at #GoodwoodRevival.

Hi this is 4213 - the first built Lusso and one of three cars with race history in period.
Enzo sold Lussos to finance the racing team.
It was a a beautifully bodied gentlemans GT with a heater, roll up windows, comforable upholstery, turn indicators etc.
This anomaly is interesting but wrong on so many levels.
Tuning those 6 carbs would be fun to see!
I Rebuilt the 6 Webers on a 275 GTB. A wonderful experience. My Boss Tuned the Webers and then took Carcout for a Test Drive. Oh, the Sound was incredible.

This is not the only remaining 250 GT Lusso 'Competizione'.
David Lee in California has one. I found four videos of it (all driven, three of them passenger perspective on the road). An article in Autoweek. Then an article in Robb Report dated late March 2024 with David Lee pictured posing next to it.
Im guessing they meant to say that its the only one remaining that still races...
Great video, thank you for sharing. I have a question. Mr. Stahl is sitting next to the No. 11 car and the racing clips from the Goodwood show the No. 10 car. Was the No. 10 car not built for racing originally or is it one of the three Mr. Stahl mentions that were built for racing? Any info. on the No. 10 car would be helpful. I' saw that car here in South Florida.
