Accepted to Harvard, Brown, and NYU. He decided to start touring instead

I love the very apparent anger in his voice on “mansion made of solid gold”, “turned 10k bright eyes into a company run by the White guys”, and the “you suck” immediately following the teenage girl bar.
The way he talks about kids* today, as a generation, with empathy, care, and even admiration, is all too rare. That SHOULD infuriate.
(*this song is not just about young people, I’m talking about his work overall, as well as his interviews)

@@strawhatboys College has kind of become a scam since infromation is now freely available. I cant tell you how many college classes ive had where they just want you to read a text book that just anyone can buy. I watched an indian man print out a computer science masters and use that to get a 6 figure job. He had like 3 months of training from a coding bootcamp.

I mean most people could if they put time and effort into it, and if you are educated and have a good vocabularly, you can do way better than someone who doesnt. The difference is, if you are that educated, you probably dont want to make your living singing poems.

    • @unclefoot
      @unclefoot ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@nullakjg767 idk about that…I think your stance on “highly educated people not wanting to make their living singing Poems” is kind of a shitty take that misses the whole point of art.
While spending a substantial amount of time and effort is a necessity for mastering any craft or skill set, rapping is like any other art form…without passion and love for the craft, your art won’t be anything more than that just “better than someone else”. And that applies to ANY artistic craft. Drumming, singing, guitar, bass, production…you can’t be “educated” into loving something and being well educated has little to do with creating art.
Look at Dexter Holland. He’s the lead singer, rhythm guitarist and primary song writer for The Offspring. They’re one of the most successful punk bands of all time and have sold 40 Million albums. Their albums ‘Ixnay on the Hombre’ and ‘Americana’ are absolute masterpieces by any standard. And a little known fact about Dexter Holland is that the dude has a DOCTORATE in molecular biology. You can’t get much more educated than that and he chose to make his living “singing poems”. Because that’s what he LOVES.

Too few people know about this one. Bo has always been a wordsmith and this is a great example. Awesome reaction. 👏

In regards to the pope you should listen to Tim Michin's: The Pope Song

He always was a "conscious" rapper...
    You just didn't hear it.
At least from what I've heard, almost all his songs has some deeper meaning and more often than not it's about some sort of societal injustice or prejudice.
Maybe he wasn't in the EARLY early years but I'm pretty sure Ive seen social messaging in songs from when he was like 20 years old.

yo, would love to see more bo burnham
bo' fo' sho' and 3.14 apple pie are both alot of fun, more in that old school (bo) style to saw in bo yo
'hell of a ride' and 'oh bo' are overall more put together, similar to 'words words words'
and 'nerds' is another more conscious one.
    i bet you'd love any/all of them.

*PLEASE make videos on these Bo Burnham songs*
If you like this song with real unhinged rap you should check out "Hell of a Ride" (I'd recommend lyric video)
For old-school savage unhinged Bo "New Math" (test your mathematics ;p)
Two less edgy, less rap songs that I think you should check out are "What's funny" and "Sad"
-Real Bo fan that hopes you enjoy 🙂

Buy yourself a camera stand. Get it off your desk. Every tiny movement you make makes it shake like crazy and for some reason you don’t stabilize it in editing

It's funny 'cause you said "I can't hit that note", which you were actually way sharp on. So you could reach the note, you just can't sing. Which is fair enough, a lot of people are tone deaf, and they either don't know it or have learned to listen to others. It's like being stupid; those who are, lack the facilities required to know that they are.

Wow. Do you feel better about yourself after this comment?
Some people are a-holes and either don’t know it or have learned to not listen to others. Can you at least present your comment respectfully?

Pausing the video to react is not a true reaction it's commentary.
