JIMEK (Radzimir Dębski), composer and producer. JIMEK gained first international recognition when he was picked as the winner by Beyoncé and judges such as Giorgio Moroder, Isabella 'the Machine' Summers, Afrojack in Beyoncé 'End of Time' remix competition beating 3000 international contestants. The winning track was released on Beyoncé's next official release "4: the Remix".
He graduated with a degree in composition from the Chopin Music University in Warsaw and studied orchestration and film scoring at the University of California in Los Angeles. He started to work writing music for film and tv as a teenager, constantly building up his musical workshop and versatility, which led him to his love for stylistic liberty he calls 'smuggling'. Today his work ranges from writing and conducting contemporary symphonic pieces for philharmonics to producing completely electronic beats for collaborations and film.

never thought something I did for the love of the music that brought me up would get to this big. Thank you everyone that helped spread the word!! I know I didn't do ALL of the history of Hip-Hop, or everybody's complete lists, I did miss many greats - but these I wrote down by heart, no research, just beats that changed the game for me. JIMEK Please travel with this, its so powerful. The pain and struggle that goes into HipHop/RnB etc needs an orchestra to deliver it. I need an entire concert one day. AMAZING! WOW! Brings tears to my eyes.

It's really crazy that you can play any hip-hop song and nothing happens but when you play still dre ,it brings a lot of emotions.

kchkaceha Not at all. Hip-hop's musical background is very simple both to hear and rewrite, and to perform (simple structure, short, no dynamics, simple articulation). Boringly simple for musician with classical training. And thi orcherstra is one of the best in the world- If some famous orchestra can't play something, these people can, no problem. Not to mention a tiny fact that Jimek even didn't have to orchestrate Simon Says, because originally it's Akira Ifukube "Godzilla appears", thoug this one is also that simple, it's quicker to rewrite this or play from hearing, than to order a score from Japan.

The orchestration is something special, but let's just take a second to appreciate how DEEP in the crates some of these cuts are. Not just an achievement in music, but one made possible by a man who truly loves the form and its history.

The point of grateness of this piece is not in the choice of the songs. It is hidden in the maestry of rewriting it for the orchestra. It is very pleasent for an ordinary listener. It is a grate joy to discover the songs you know. But personally I also made some notes and looked for the songs I didn't know till now. So that's what it is about. Enjoy the classical music and spread your horizons!!! THUMBS UP!!!

Definitely, Nas might ave been one of the hardest to adapt. The chopped-up Preemo sample doesn't sound like it's meant for being played live. But somehow, they made it sound really nice.
Simon Says was tight, this ominous sample really translated well into the orchestra sound. Why people clapped only at Dre and Missy?
