    If you can get on Camp Pendleton with a CA. And base fishing license. You can find ghostshrimp in the lagoon north of Del Mar Beach. Fish the Pendleton jetty where it bends in the Harbour on an incoming tide there is a hole there. You only have to cast 10 to 20 ft. I used to have to make 2 trips to carry my catch out.

      Yes, there are mussels towards the end of the jetty that you can get during low tide

    Awesome video! What kind of license did you need for these rocks? Also, do you have a specific site or guide you use for knowing what’s what and size/catch limits?

    • @SocalFisherman
      @SocalFisherman  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you ! Just with the regular state fishing license 👍🏽 you can find that on the CA fish and wildlife website.
      wildlife.ca.gov
      Or for local fish I believe there is websites with that info as well, just searching it up.
      Thanks for watching

    Aye bro what gear and bait do you recommend using for Oceanside rock fishing and also is a standard fishing license required?

    • @SocalFisherman
      @SocalFisherman  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends what you’re trying to fish for, if your going for opaleye, perch, pretator fish in those areas, drops hot rig with the choice of your bait will be more effective. I typically use 30-40# braid or mono, with a leader line of equivalent weight to stay intact Incase of snags. The bait that will be most effective is muscle, since that’s what’s at those rocks. You can also have luck with green peas, ghost shrimp, store shrimp, worms.
      You can also cast in swim baits for rock fish, Cabezon, multiple bass species, etc.
      I’ve bumped into the ranger at north oside jetty and he asked for my license, so I assume so.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @SocalFisherman
      @SocalFisherman  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends what your trying to fish for, but it’s usually more active two hours before or two hours after the tide change

      Sculpin have similar features, but in this Video it was a Cabezon. You can tell by the blueish color inside it’s mouth and it’s colors.
      Minimum take home size for Cabezon is 15”.

    Hey man I’ve been seeing allot of people catching with the ghost shrimp, would you mind telling me we’re I could find them idk why but every fisherman at Oceanside harbor is gate keeping for some reason 😊

    • @SocalFisherman
      @SocalFisherman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahah they try to keep the spots secret but they’re pretty well known. You can pump them at Del Mar dog beach during low tide, also behind the Del Mar fair at the water inlet at low tide. Carlsbad lagoon during low tide, you can also explore yourself to find new spots at salt water inlets near you. You’ll usually know you find them when you see the ghost shrimp mounds
