Emeraldeyes58, saying that no one is talking about the gun problem but Seth is kinda dismissive to the very real activist and grassroots efforts that lots of people are doing in the US. It's discussed *a lot*. The fact that almost nothing seems to get done about it doesn't mean it's not talked about, or that there are no strong efforts to change things, it just means that there are strong forces opposing that change that the majority of the US wants. Seth's words here are great, though, but we can praise them without dismissing others.
@phelan_pt Perhaps I should have been clearer. In all the discussion regarding the shooting, the news media has not even touched upon the gun issue. Not that I'm surprised about that. I was simply thanking Seth for bringing it up. I'm very aware that there are organizations and individuals working to try to bring about gun reform and of the forces they are up against. Thanking a person for their words is not being dismissive of another's words or efforts. That being said, I thought it would be understood that I was referring to the "fall out" discussions by the mainstream media surrounding the shooting at the rally. Apparently, it wasn't.

@@sherinameless1618 he never said that. Well Vance is a hypocrite. he was a "never trumper" in 2016, now he kisses trumps ass which got him elected n the first place and now secured him a VP spot.
Perhaps Biden can limit his negative comments about Trump to quoting what Republicans have already said. Like the line in a Florida governor race, "I'm not calling my opponent is a racist. I'm just pointing out the racists think he a racist."
She should have recused herself from the beginning. And the Republicans whine and froth over Democrat judges, democrat district attorneys , with Democrat jury's. Their hypocrisy is deafening

Kudos, Seth, for using your platform for a serious conversation when it’s appropriate. I agree with you and thank you for taking things seriously, when warranted. You’re good, man, and best of all - you make me laugh. 💙
Seth and his writers are the best on television. Absolutely pitch perfect.
Absolutely!
Deranged
Thank you. This is the first time I've heard direct discourse about our political disconnect problems. I appreciate the logic and even-minded approach to addressing this topic. We need this so much as everything feels like it's spiraling downward fast. To know there are level-headed minds still out there helps more than you might imagine.
This was beautifully articulated. I am very grateful for your and your writer's careful and meaningful words.
Thank you for the dignity and respect in your words. And the hope that we may continue to progress forward.
Thanks Seth and team, cheers. Hope for peace and calm for everyone.
Its so funny because i can see How Corrections has affected Seth, he fumbles on a word and is immediately trying to correct himself because he can hear the jackals already
Actually a fumble is incorrect, it should be stumble
Idk, Seth's immediately trying to pretend he meant "bust your bubble" when the line clearly was "burst your bubble" and then pretending that both work seems to betray more of a Trumpian influence
I watch you but you have never brought me to tears before. Thank you for loving peace and inclusivity. 😢
Thank you for your serious address Seth, that was necessary and deeply important. Thank you for using your platform for good
Thank you, Seth, for bringing up the gun problem in this country. No one is talking about this!
Nice try
Ever heard of Gabby Giffords and her organization? No? You're not paying attention.
Well, when you talk, and talk, and talk, and nothing ever happens, eventually you just get tired of talking.
Thank you, Seth, for those excellent and very true comments.
Seth Meyers and the whole late night team - you're a real class act. I am mean that with complete sincerity. Shows like yours are all too aware of just how dangerous and destructive Trump's actions and statements have been for our country and I salute you all for taking a sobering moment to address not only the incident, but the fear-mongering that has persisted immediately after the fact. Thank you for being the voices of reason and honor in a cacophony of false patriotism and hate.
How do you ignore the contrast between that ridiculous chandelier and that cheap shower curtain.
Even without the boxes, that bathroom is ridiculous.
Deco tacky...😅😅

That's a way I cope too, I play games with a kid, take a night walk in the rain to see frogs with a friend, savor the cool breeze and don't let interesting opportunities pass by without a try. This is the stuff we'll remember with nostalgia. I don't want my memories to only be of worry and anger.
Thank you, Seth and all the staff at Late Night!

@@yaceya He was going to be on hiatus? What's happening this week?
@@FallenOne669 oh, sorry for misinforming: I double-checked, I was almost sure he said that he started hiatus, but he actually said "we have a show next week and then we go for 3 week hiatus"... he knew something!
In times like these… I just want Seth Meyers to keep talking. Keep up the good work Seth- hello from Amherst, NH!
Thank you Seth and team for telling it exactly like it is!
so perfectly stated! Seth keep doing what you do man... love you!
Her Court manager needs to relieve her of her duties. How ridiculous to dismiss a crime with countless evidence, which threatened our US security.
You sound like a bot. Are you a bot?
Why is it OK for Uncle Joe to have classified documents at his house and just blow it off by saying he’s old and didn’t know?
lol. You must be so young and naive. This is the US Justice System, this is just getting the spotlight because it involves Trump. Wake up to reality
@@AcctistaZ you sound like a Trump cultist.
The US Supreme Court just said that he had Presidential immunity while in office and he was still playing president when he stole the documents! 🤬
Biden addressed the nation, told us to condemn the violence, wished Trump a speedy recovery, called him, made a statement sending thoughts and prayers to the family of the Fire Fighter who got shot in the crosshairs and wanted to make sure the other two victims were well... Trump angrily tweeted how all his cases should be dismissed... even the Wife of the fire fighter who died said Trump hasn't contacted her yet about her loss... I know who i'm voting for.

Great job Seth and timely comments before the show well done
JD Vance: Democrats calling Trump fascist is dangerously irresponsible
Also JD Vance: Trump may very well be “America’s Hitler”
Yeah. That happened 🤦🏻♂️
Yup. Calling for unity. That lasted a whole two days. 🙃
Hey, Vance just changed his mind. He now believes that nobody should be allowed to say anything bad about Trump, and nobody should be allowed to say anything good about Biden. It's called VP candidacy.
@@sherinameless1618 he never said that. All Seth is saying is that we need to hold leaders accountable for what they say and condemn inflammatory speech that could lead to violence and show that WE should be bigger than pointing the finger. The fact that Trump picked someone who JUST posted something that fans those flames to be the second in line to the presidency is disgusting and increases the divide between the parties rather than try to create a safer country in which senseless violence isn’t just a common occurrence. No one should be afraid to go about their daily lives.
And now he's his v.p. how can republicans support politicians who lie so clearly on video right to their faces..it's so sheepish
Well, at least one Republican went pretty far to try to keep Vance named VP nominee.
But that guy failed out of Demolition Ranch and The Apprentice with the same shot.
Things it's too soon to say.
Thank you!
That transition from your serious opener to the humor by way of Guliani-Googly-Eyes was masterful. Wonderful timing and pacing. The call backs to it were also great. Rule of 3!
Beautifully said Seth. You nailed every point that needed to be said in an eloquent way. Thank you for your words and your insight you did the right thing by talking about this first thing.

Seth & John Oliver have it figured out. I trust the facts from JO more than any msm. They’re vetted to the hilt. And while there’s plenty of comedy, I haven’t seen a distruth yet.
Seth is pretty damn awesome too!
So J D Vance is calling out Biden for saying the exact same things he has said about Trump.🙄
@@alanwatterson2850show me where Biden called him that. ‘destructive post truth populist’ is more accurate though (also not the words of Biden)
Well Vance is a hypocrite. he was a "never trumper" in 2016, now he kisses trumps ass which got him elected n the first place and now secured him a VP spot.
Actually, I haven't heard Biden compare him to Hitler. Vance did that.
I think Mr. Vance needs to talk to Mike Pence.
Perhaps Biden can limit his negative comments about Trump to quoting what Republicans have already said.
Like the line in a Florida governor race, "I'm not calling my opponent is a racist. I'm just pointing out the racists think he a racist."
And this is why Seth is now my favourite Late Night host.
Allowing Cannon to sit the case was unlawful.
She should have recused herself from the beginning. And the Republicans whine and froth over Democrat judges, democrat district attorneys , with Democrat jury's. Their hypocrisy is deafening
Yeah... fiddling the judge selection process like that was certainly "irregular" but I don't know if it's prosecutable.
It REALLY should have been? But, the problem is, the US justice system has...issues with handling corruption THAT blatant. It was an issue in Trump's other trials, too.
She has a duty to recuse herself if she can't judge a case impartially.
We saw this coming long before this news.
Thank you, Seth!
Your voice is the voice of reason and decency. Thanks again!
Thank you Seth. Brilliant.
