- Heeramandi Cast Interview: The Diamond Bazaar, which released on Netflix on May 1, continues to generate wide interest, actors Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Sheikh talk about the role they play and share the experience of being part of a narrative that's driven by larger-than-life women characters.
Set in the 1920s, Heeramandi harks back to a period when courtesans reigned as queens in the sub-continent and commanded respect for their art. The series, which is based on the concept by Moin Beg and created by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, follows the battle for succession between Mallikajaan (Manisha Manisha Koirala) and Fareedan (Sonakshi Sinha) as they try to gain control of Heeramandi. While Mallikajaan wants her youngest daughter Alamzeb (Sharmin Segal) to succeed her, there are several others like her sister Waheeda (Sanjeeda Sheikh) and Lajwanti (Richa Chadha) who are part of her fascinating world.

17 auditions and yet Sharmin was the weaklink of the series.
I knew something wasn’t right as when compared to the performance of all other cast her act was bit lacking. Now i know what happened!!

@@trulyyoursish as per sources, Sharmin Segal ne Heeramandi ke set par Sabhi ki Naak par Dum Kiya Tha. Kyunki uske Mama ki Webseries toh Sharmin ne Khoob Dadagiri. Khudko Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Alia Bhatt samjhati hai yeh. Due to which most of her other actresses hate her. Watch Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha and Sanjeeda Shaikh's expression in other videos. You'll understand that all those women are tolerating her. Because of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. So, Sharmin should gracefully retire from acting. She got her answer that audience has rejected her as an actress. She's a waste and better leave the job.

Despite that, she couldn't turn into a great actress. Sharmin Segal should learn something from Tusshar Kapoor and Uday Chopra. Tusshar knows he gets acting assignments only due to his family and in the Golmaal Film Universe. No one will cast him despite being Jumping Jack Jr. Similarly, Uday Chopra is aware that no one will consider him an actor other than his brother Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukherjee. So, they know how hard they try, most of the production house will think 100 times before taking Jeetendra's son and Yash Chopra's son in their project. Sharmin should understand she's well-settled. If you analyse that most of the Top Bollywood actress become successful in their early or mid-20's. Sharmin is 29 years old, she has passed that time. So, let her rest and say Goodbye to the world of Arclights. She can be an Author and write about her great and legendary uncle or other family members but acting a Big "No".

Richa Chadha spoke the least and communicated the most. She was eloquent and thoughtful in her answers. Her brilliance shone right through. I am tired of hearing how great Sanjay Leela Bhansali 'Sir' is and not addressing the question asked in all of their interviews barring Sonakshi Sinha and Richa Chadha. Only these two come across as confident and analytical in their responses.
I skipped all parts of sharmin’s acting. I was confused why they even casted her and now I know she is a relative. It ruined my experience
