you should also try no.49 that takes you from the heart of Pest all the way to Kelenföld across the Szabadság híd, stopping at Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum, Fővárosi Szabó Ervin Könyvtár, Nagy Vásárcsarnok, Gellért Gyógyfürdő, Gellérthegyi park, Újbuda Park and Kelenföld kocsiszín (for true tram enthusisats :) or even no.4 which connects Széll Kálmán tér and Újbuda-központ travelling in a semicircle through some wonderful neighborhoods, crosses Danube twice, stops at Margitsziget, Oktogon, New York cafe, Corvin sétány and Science Park or maybe no.1 line which is served by 9-part CAF Urbos 3 trams which are 55.9m in length, making them the world's longest trams from Kelenföld to Bécsi út or vice versa :D passing through some fascinating communist era estates, over the Rákóczi híd, stopping at Müpa, Népliget, Puskás Ferenc Stadion, back of Városliget with all its attractions, Margitsziget and Óbuda
Tram 2 is beautiful indeed. If you like trams, take a visit to rural tram 41 to Kamaraerdő and to mountainous tram 56 to Hűvösvölgy as well!
