      Exactly!!! The entire issue is, he is a "Clutch affiliated" reporter that wrote an article whose purpose was to put doubt on MJ's award. But he then says he's unbiased???
      Not only that, he claims that the stat scoring is subjective, chooses 6 games out of 41 home games, and does not even list the "criteria for steals. While using only MJ and comparing no one else.
      All of this while not even listing how MJ would've benefitted from the so called "stat stuffing". The entire article is literally a hit piece and only serves it purpose to be used as ammo for Lebron mouth pieces.

      They are clowns. They failed to mention the 2nd and 3rd place finisher on DPOY had very much inflated home/away split too that year, and it wasn't like the vote was close either that a couple base point in steal and block would have tilted the result. This is even not mentioning the fact that a guard averaging let's just say it is 2.5 steals and 1 block is already insane. If you just look at his away stats, which I would say is probably deflated if the scorers are given so much freedom, he easily should have won DPOY based on just that.

      @Dotsetc 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      Any player you could put in the top 15 has stats and earily comparable compared to the average amount of games between them.
      In the scheme of it all, how much does MJ averaging slightly more points matter? How much does it matter than for his career Lebron had 1 whole rebound and assist more per game?
      Like you said especially when it comes to the supposed top 5 their stats honestly are eerily similar which means unless we're talking advanced metrics, who cares.
      To be the greatest, you gotta be better at winning than others. No that doesnt simply mean 'most chips' but its HOW you won these chips and when you lose its about HOW you lose.
      For example there are zero chips that Lebron has won that I'd put at the level of the chip Nowitzki won.
      Ultimately, Lebron sure as hell is a better player, but all his chips were either playing on the clearly best team in the league or clearly second best.
      So he didnt just lose a lot of finals, he also only won finals that he was SUPPOSED to win.

    This article is beyond stupid. You will find numbers doctoring. You'll also find Lebron and other current NBA players travelling and palming the ball while dribbling. Tired of them trying to tear Jordan down to make Lebron look better.
    Acoording to the NBA official rules *An assist is credited to the player tossing the last pass leading directly to a made field goal, but only if the player scoring the goal demonstrates an immediate reaction toward the basket after receiving the pass. Note also that an inbound pass can be credited as an assist if it leads directly to a field goal.*
    As was mentioned in the video, two of Lebron's assists that were shown were not as assist according to the rules. As assist is creating the shot for a teammate. Just passing it to a teammate and that teammate beating a defender in isolation is not supposed to be an assist.
    The one thing that irks me is this may set a precedent in the future where some NBA legend 20-30 years from now will be talking about current NBA stars the same way.

    Same for Alvin Robertson who finished 4th I believe?
    Now we gotta look at Hakeem Olajuwon too no?
    Or how about Haberstroh, who admitted to being a Klutch Sports hack, saying that things looked fine the year before and after.

No one played defense with his tenacity and energy but he was pouring in 35+ppg with insane moves and dunks so his defense was overshadowed by his offensive ridiculousness. I know for those people who missed MJ completely It seems impossible that somebody could dominate at that level so there must be some reason but yeah, he really was simply that good. It's like when Wilt scored 50ppg you assume he had some crazy advantage and he did - the average center was 6-8 at that time. So you assume MJ had some unseen advantage but in his case, it was just that he was really that much better than anyone who will ever play. What is often never acknowledged, let alone examined, is a point AOH made several years ago regarding the obvious stat manipulation the NBA performs for LeBron's shot/rebound/assist totals. If you go back and watch his Lakers game breakdowns, you will be sickened by what scorekeepers often regard as credited assists and rebounds. Half-court LeBron passes, where the shooter catches the ball and dribbles 25+ feet to the basket, are often scored as assists for LeBron. Rebounds where both LeBron and a teammate both touch the ball, are often awarded to LeBron, even if his contact is incidental or out of control. It's grotesque and far and away worse than anything the league or the hometown scorekeepers may have done for MJ. Until that's acknowledged, I don't want to hear another word about MJ.

    Stats back then had little effect on who won DPOY or even made an All-Defensive team. The year prior to MJ’s DPOY, the Bulls finished with a 40-42 record and had the 7th ranked defense. Yet MJ didn’t finish top 5 in DPOY voting, and didn’t even make an all-defensive team.
    The next season, the Bulls posted a 50-32 record (good for top 5 in the league), and had the 1st ranked defense. MJ only had 23 more steals and 6 more blocks compared to the season before, and won the DPOY convincingly.
    People cared more about if your defense helped the team win lots of games, and if you led them to being a highly ranked defense overall.

    its ridiculous at this point... barely 2 months ago Lebron claimed he should have won DPOY, which he shouldn't have... Gasol had better stats. If anything Gasol was robbed of 1st team defense. which by the way dpoy and 1st/2nd team defense are voted on by two different groups. Anyway, lebron brings up dpoy and now all of a sudden Jordan's DPOY is in question.... can't beat him... lie on him.

    Terrible article, full of conjecture and insinuation. I saw the comparison between road and home numbers and even a review of a handful of games, but no actual total raw number count of all games. To claim a stat keeper just added to someone numbers is a huge claim, and should be treated with skepticism.

    Assists are the most egregious stats in basketball. Notice that basically, all the assist leaders come out of the west just like the best defensive players come out of the east. West coast offenses helped stat padding for assist and steals.

    Both of the LeBron assists that he showed in this video are types of assists that every player always gets credited with as they should... That being said, I have reason to believe that the "hit piece" that was put out is not accurate as they claimed that the Nets were only credited with 9 turnovers in Jordan's 10 steal game, but when I went back and triple checked the Nets were actually credited with 22 turnovers... I wish everyone could learn to put whatever biases they may have to the side and just be real.

    These people are just ridiculous. I showed a person a video(the video was listed as MJ having 8 steals in a half) on here with Chicago against Boston in Boston where MJ had 8 steals in the first half. The announcers even referenced the number of steals after most and the 8th one in the first half. On basketball reference it is listed as him having 9 for the game. So because the user only showed what he had in the title(8 steals in a half) and not the other half where MJ picked up 1 steal to make it 9 the dude was like more inflated stats. It’s like STOP IT. 😂

    You know whats asinine? The fact that Jordan didnt even make an *all defense* team in 1986-1987 season. Yes thats right, he didnt even make the 2nd team all defense despite the fact that he had a better DWS, defensive box plus minus, Defensive rating, and more steals and blocks. Like, i understand thrre is more to defense than these stats, but you cant completely ignore them either. If you have universally better stats than the dpoy of the season, then you should obviously be on an all nba defensive team, let alone potentially dpoy.

    A former NBA stat keeper admitted that in any game there are up to 40 stat errors. Whether they are intentional or unintentional was up to that person. That's why points and wins are really the only stats that matter because it's very tough to scrutinize them. The basket counted or it didn't. No grey area. You won or you lost. Period.
    This is also why I don't bet on sports. Beating the odds is hard enough. It's even harder when there are people out there actively working against you.

    I had to deal with a person on social media which was arguing just this, and he mentioned that it's from multiple sources. I mentioned to him that it just came from one source, and he kept on arguing that I did not read the article, while I argued he did not really understand the implications of the article, it really meant nothing. When an article says "May have" and "could have", makes it clear that it's just accusations and rumors which are not validated. And even if it was true, it still wasn't just the reason why MJ is considered the GOAT.

  • @GPsarakis
    @GPsarakis 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    It's good that you pointed out how differently they count assists in todays NBA than before. Back when MJ played you had to shoot the ball right after getting it for the other player to get a assist on their stats. That's just not the case anymore, now the player who gets the ball can dribble a bit, make a play on their own, and the other player still gets the assist on their stat line. It's a joke.

    That long road trip was called the "Circus Trip." Every year at that time, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus would come to town and setup in the Chicago Stadium, and later the United Center. It would kick both the Bulls and the Blackhawks out on the road for two weeks. It was brutal. They ended it in 2018.

I watched almost every game that season and he earned that defense MVP his stats were not doctored I literally watched the games I saw him do it so is that LeBron jock rider telling me to not believe my own eyes. When is the league going to investigate klutch sports for tampering for 20 years. If the league won't then the government needs to get involved like they have in the past for other leagues.
