I know, right? I mean I prefer Odysseus where he is imposing, a beast to run away from because he has no mercy, but seeing him get hurt and his son supporting him with the help of his mentor while telemachus mentions the phrase of fighting monsters as in his song and giving him support, feels more enjoyable in the sense of human connection and the bond between them
Not to mention this is the first time Ody has seen him since he was a child. He gets to meet him as a proud, strong man who holds no resentment towards his father. He goes from getting his face punched in to seeing a dream come true 😊
He still got a cool thing which may or may not been intentional, since the suitors were asking "where is he? Where is he?" About Telemachus when every other time, whether the suitors knew it or not, they were talking about his father
Why we just can't have these scenes after oddesyeus he kills them as the song to have the vibes of him killing returning be the monster but in this telemachus by able to fend of suitors by his own give him some more character development song telemachus then antinous turn up to not be dead odesseyus didn't know antinous sneak up on him and this song get played and we have suitors song simple you see😅😅😅 it would be beutiful don't you agree but anyway we love the songs and this saga as it is mr jay (note im not a bot but i want my point if view to be read in this case)
@باسل_ممدوحat least to me it feels a little more compelling that telemachus was able to hold his own against the suitors for a little while, but he was eventually overwhelmed (which is the case in the Canon animatic) this allows us to see the telemachus is more powerful than he was before, but it also allows us to see got the monster doesn't just butcher indiscriminately (he kills them all for sure, but that last group of suitors probably suffered as they died, we know that melanthus did, because he actually mentally tortured that dude a little bit, he stabbed him through the chest with a spear, he made him watch has a bunch of his companions were shot down, then Odysseus took the spear out and stabbed in four more times, before he ultimately cuts the mans head off with the spear so that he can inflict psychological damage on the remaining suitors before he kills them all) in short the fact that telemachus is life was threatened allowed us to see the papa bear side of Odysseus (also as much as I wanted to see a showdown between Odysseus and antinuous, I feel like it's much more fitting to go with the way he died in The Odyssey, because he thinks himself Worthy of the throne, but he is so far beneath odysseus's notice that it wouldn't make sense for them to have an actual fight)
I think Telemachus kneeing antinous in slow motion would be a good callback to Little Wolf when Athena first appears and helps him. "...Is time now movings slow?" "No, I just made your thoughts quick."
actually, the reference still made it in. when Telemachus fights the suitors you can hear time go backwards as athena lends him the quick mind ability to fight them.

What are you talking about. This is way more realistic than whatever the hell that jetpack nonsense was. At least people in the real world have outright survived headshots from arrows before.
I prefer what we got (Antinous hyping himself up only to be knocked down immediately. He isn't a real threat to Odysseus and I love that. Also Odysseyus made Poesiden beg so there's no way he'd get knocked down by a random guy.) But Telemachus fighting for his dad is awesome. I like both versions but I think the official version is the best.
When you first described that Antinous was gonna get up and attack Odysseus with an arrow still in his neck, I didn't think that was TOO far fetched, but I pictured it as more of an adrenaline fueled mania rather than this slower sinister vibe. I'm glad you did those rewrites, but it's still cool to see what might've been.
@esteban8471 I mean in this world, the gods don't seem to be quite powerful as we typically think of them as. But a regular human person just getting up after being shot through the neck with an arrow and just continuing to act like he was before is pretty far fetched no matter what lol
@@DrewFilms05 While you do have a point that the gods in Epic are probably not as powerful as they would be in God of War or Percy Jackson, the story does tell us that they are still far more powerful than mortal means can allow. Odysseus spends half of the musical actively avoiding Poseidon and Athena got scarred by Zeus, without being able to even put up a fight in some animatics. I feel like 600 Strike could have been expressed better, but that's just me.
@esteban8471 Ody wasn't just some mortal trying to fight a god. He used the wind bag, and it's believed that Ares granted him powers. He also did the majority of the damage at the end with Poseidon's own trident which presumably has the power to injure gods. Ody is also incredibly strong on his own as shown by everyone being unable to string his bow.
@@deathwish-gg8wz While I am well aware Odysseus is stronger than the average man, I do think the way he won was a bit out of left field with the wing bag jetpack. I personally don't agree with the notion that Ares is giving him power because not only does Ares not like him (he calls him a pathetic coward in God Games), but we also don't hear his instrument during 600 Strike. And while he did do lethal damage with the trident, that was after the fight was over. Again, that's just my opinion.

I love seeing cut stuff like this, and this part is so cool! But I'm definitely glad you changed it to the version we have now because I'm not sure how I feel about Ody losing to Antinous. Still cool for a cut saga or something!
Finally! I've always wanted a full concept of what happened in that part. And it did not disappoint, but the mental image of Antinous walking around with an arrow on his throat is killing me 😂. That would have been ultimate anime moment had that been kept in.
This version goes so hard. Makes since why I'm the love stream animatic you see telemacus fighting so well where as if you just hear the song you dont immediately realize that it's telemacus fighting off the suitors that are after him 🤯
Oh My WOW, I love how Tel enters and helps out, I find it super fun and it gives him a really fun demeanour showing off that he's done some training and gotten more experience than he had in the time of Legendary and Little Wolf. The situation of Antinous getting back into the fight with an arrow in his neck is a wild idea XD it is a really fun little idea, and shows just how scary Antinous could become if he had the chance and fought seriously and strategically! Really happy to get to see the bits of songs that didn't quite fit! They're really fun to listen to and know about even without being in a full song! The creative idea is super inspiring, cant wait to see what comes next now the Odyssey is completed! Love you Jorge!!
Jorge, you made the right decision cutting these songs, Ithaca saga is perfect. I do love how “hey fellas look who I found” is delivered-Very murderous. Odysseus would not deal with being punched by mr arrow in his neck, but I do love his angry verse. And Telemachus getting his name chanted as well, it’s so fun. But can we agree that Ayron would absolutely slay the Antinous part
And MICO with the Telemachus
I love seeing cut stuff like this, and this part is so cool! But I'm definitely glad you changed it to the version we have now because I'm not sure how I feel about Ody losing to Antinous. Still cool for a cut saga or something!
GONNA NEED A FULL VERSION OF BOTH OF THESE PLEASE MR. JALAPEÑO, I BEG OF YOU
Imagine not only surviving an arrow to the neck, but SINGING with an arrow in your neck-
I was waiting for this version!! It’s fire, but Jay def made the right decision.
Love you Jorge!!
awwwww telemachus joining for his dad is the cutest thing ever
A cut saga is a need not just a want at this point! You have literally never missed with any songs!
Could you please release a full-or however finished the song was-Olive Tree? No frills required. (I love Penelope’s VA, she is so good, but honestly you also slayed singing that song) I adore Olive Tree and I’d love to add it to my playlists. (Side note: wyfilwma is a much better closer, focusing on the present and the future whereas Olive Tree is about the past, but they both slay because you’re an amazing songwriter.)
So glad we got the version we ended up with. It’s a true masterpiece! ❤
0:55 I’ll be honest Telemachus coming out of frame with a slo-mo Busaiku Knee/Flying knee would be sick as hell 😂 I’d love it
Oooh this is so cool!! It's so awesome how Tel is still there with Athena helping him in quick thought :D
ITS STILL SO COOL!!!
I love EPIC sooo much!❤❤❤
Edit: TELEMACHUS FOR THE WIN!! GO TELE, GO TELE!!!!❤
Even the cuts and rewrites are bops
Ty for the behind the scenes release, but I like the final version much more.
Can't wait to buy a box set or some merch for this though!
I remember listening to the compilations we had with snippets of King!
Saw this posted and IMMEDIATELY RAN in the middle of class
Captain, I love your stuff and the entire cast is awesome! I love all the little Easter eggs and hidden secrets you put in your music- I also love hearing all of your drafts and explanations 🫶
"Hey Fellas, I just killed the monster rawr rawr rawr. Whatchu Gonna Do About It, Champs?"
Hold em down! Hold em down I say
Odysseus: I am a different beast now! I won’t take more suffering from you!
At that moment he wasn't listening to music, he was living an experience.
Holy moly. Beautiful. Just beautiful ❤️
Omg I just kept going "what???" With more and more concern, beautiful work again I'm crying ❤
It's so cool to see all the work you put in to create the masterpiece we ended up with ❤
The second when Telemacus entered I wanted to cry. Love you Mico!!!
THIS IS SO AWESOME. BOTH OF THE VERSIONS ARE SO COOL, JAY YOU GENIUS MAN ‼️ (LOVE THE FACT THAT IT'S TELEMACHUS SAVING ODYSSEUS IN THIS VERSION)
I really wanted to hear the cut song. THANK YOU MR JALAPEÑO!!!🥹
YEAAAAAH! I NEW ADDITION TO THE CUT SAGA! CAPTAIN ALWAYS BLESSING US❤❤❤❤
JORGE ANY VERSION YOU MAKE OF ANY PF YOUR SONGS WILL ALWAYS BLOW US AWAY-
I love that you can still hear some of the motifs that are still in Song 38 in both of these, also Telemachus’ Legendary motif returning was so cool!
OH MY GOD JORGE YOU JUST FED MY ADDICTION THANK YOUU❤❤❤
Oh man this is fire. I would like this but the original is still amazing ✨🔥🔥
This would’ve brought a whole new aspect to the father son duo
This sounds so good! Never thought I’d hear this❤
YEAAAAAAHHHH THE CAPTAIN FEEDS US MOREEEEE
Someone animate this please! Jorge, please keep releasing these your creative process is fascinating
Not just animate it, but I would love to hear our cast sing these too!
This would have been such a cool sequence to see, you need to make a cut song saga! It would be so fun to listen to.
Give it a week or 2, someone will bless us with animatics eventually
@@chels8556I don't think we'll need to wait a week lol. The EPIC community will get something out in like 1-3 days. (Take the bits of Cope with That or Confront Zone for reference)
1 don’t get me wrong I LOVE Odysseus but this song is also so good my word you are so talented that even cut songs sound perfect!
2. I love how you hear the “Tele-ma-chus” in the background similar to how you heard the “Ody-say-ous” in the background of Odysseus!!!
3. When Antinous said “Got him” I paused and asked everyone in the room without context “could a person survive being shot in the neck with an arrow and proceed to walk over to the shoot stab them and then deliver dialogue?” Everyone said “maybe but unlikely”, I agreed. Uh paused ONLY FOR THIS MAN TO SURVIVE THE WHOLE SONG!
4 ok I could be wrong but I swear at one point Telemachus is accompanied by electric guitar after saying “so get up when you can” IS THAT HIM OR IS IT ODYSSEUS I CANT TELL!
Number something idk I got a lot of takes. I love Telemachus and Odysseus having this lil moment here I think it’s so sweet, also before the Ithaca saga released this is kinda how I imagined it but now I’ve heard I Cant Help But Wonder and I much prefer it
I love that in the background you can hear the chorus singing "Tele-Machus" like how they do for Odysseus and Polyphemus!!!
Okay, I love the songs you ended up with, but the Antonius verse with him just being a super villain mob thingy was actually so good!!
This sounds amazing 🤩
I absolutely love hearing cut songs
Okay I am wait for y’all to make a hoodie with that collage of all the posters on the back of the hoodie. Like low key that would be fire! I’d buy it!!❤❤❤ also love this creation that you have poured your heart into I can’t wait to see what you make next!!
Sounds like such a good concept, But I absolutely love Odysseus, and I can't help but wonder. so cool to see the creative process before what we now have as Epic ❤
There HAS to be a part 2 🙏🏽😩
It’s just too good 🤧🤧
Oh the Athena quick thought at the end, I'm guessing that's when Athena went "glad to join the party though I'm sorry i came late." Line cones in.
odysseus getting his ass beat in his own song is wild 💀
THE CHANTING OF TELEMACHUS JN THE BACKGROUDN TO RIVAL WITH THAT OF ODYSSEUS AAAAAAH
The telemachus chorus in the back is honestly so good though
I really love the Telemachus part and the Antinous part when he’s on top of ody
It looks so epic! Now I want to hear Aryon singing this version
Ahhhhh! The way Telemachus’s part has the same musical structure of the “In the heat of battle at the edge of the unknown-“ part of Odysseus!
and its STILL A BANGER.
The colors of the colors is making go insane the drafts and the song are good wth
So glad you changed song 38 from being called King to Odysseus, really added a cool little detail to my school assignment🙂
Yay another cut song! This one is literally so good (like all of them)
I absolutely love the Telemachus chanting!! 🤩🤩
