Thanks for these videos! Really helps to make sure I'm doing everything right on my Monster 1200. There aren't too many videos covering this bike on TH-cam.
Question . Per the service manual it says to have the bike upright with the both wheels on the ground. My oil is perfect that way. However when i put in on the rear stand like you do. It looks over filled, thoughts?
Welcome to 2020 COVID-19 lockdown my bike is due a service so I am going to attempt this oil and filter change myself, looks so easy thanks for the video 👏 wish me luck!! (Any tips of oil or filter types, I’ll check the manual but good to get any additional preferences).
Good luck! I like using K&N filters and shell or amsoil oils which I linked in the description. You'll get what you pay for, to an extent, so stick with a good name brand synthetic oil and filter.
Fry, the Service manual for the 2020 Ducati Monster 1200S recommends 3.9 liters of engine oil. I wonder if your stated 3.7l applies to a different model year.
I'm not aware of an aftermarket way to reset the oil light. Mine is on and has been for awhile. Next time I have to take it to the dealer they will clear it for me.
100% overtightened that filter! ‘Hand tight’ means with your hands on the filter, not your hand on a wrench! 🤣 These filters a prone to leaking when wrenched on. The nut is only designed for removal.
