Beautiful fabrics and pattern plans! You are always so inspiring and enjoyable to watch! I could see the black and white large check fabtic making a beautiful summer jacket, kind of boxy Chanel style. That would lend itself maybe better than a dress to the “loudness” of the fabric and I think it would look very classy over slim or wide legged ankle length black pants or even over a black or white dress. Can’t wait to see how your makes turn out!
The Mister Tissu white-and-black cotton is gorgeous! I love the idea of an Oona dress or a sleeveless shirt dress. You could even stretch your yardage by using solid white collar and button facings, which would also prevent the ghost of a black stripe from showing through the outer layer. For what it's worth, the sheerness reminds me of a new trick I discovered. I recently bought a pair of white summer trousers that changed how I approach sewing white clothing: the pocket bags and seam bindings are made out of a beige (skin colored) lining fabric. The skin tone makes the pockets and wide seam allowances look undetectable from the outside. You could even cover a dart from the inside with beige China silk. The beige lining trick solves the common problem where the outline of (white) pockets and other structural features show through the outer layer. It can look bad. In some clothes I like the extra-whiteness of a double layer as a deliberate design element, but when I want it to blend (pockets) I now know how to make white garments more elegant. Can't wait to see your finished projects, whenever you get to them. I have the same problem: more ideas than I can ever get translated from fabric into garments. It's normal. Happy Birthday!
Thank you for such a great tip! I've used a skin-colored fabric for facings under white fabric before, but I never thought to use it to hide a dart or to prevent pocket outlines from showing through - brilliant! 😊
Love the shirt ! Can't wait to see it. I've actually been looking for a pattern like that, something a little classic yet retro and feminine, so thank you, I will check it out.
I really enjoyed your sewing plans vlog and LOVE the viscose fabrics. The Caledon will be so pretty. And your birthday dress fabric looks wonderful. ☺☺

Have you see Idylle dress by Super bison? I discovered their patterns recently and this dress went immediately on my to do list.
No, I didn't know that dress! It looks perfectly light and flowy for the summer!
