So, we always ended up speaking in English . Maybe, because Malaysian watch a lot of Indonesian 'sinetron' 🤔🤔. anyway, thanks for creating this video, Dave!
Nah, even tho they don't really watch sinetron, Malaysian in general have a better language adaptive skills. once we recognized Indonesian tone and pronunciation, we can pretty much talk in it at least decently. Malaysian Malay is harder to imitates because of the schwa and stuff.
actually if a Malay person speak formally (like textbook) our pronounciation gonna be same as Indonesian but when we speak our accent heavily influenced by regional dialect making harder for Indonesian speaker to understand us. our main dialect is Johor-Riau dialect, which the speakers are mainly from Johor, Melaka, Selangor & Kuala Lumpur.
@@fragileword6189 because the root for bahasa Indonesia is bahasa Melayu. And bahasa Malaysia and bahasa Indonesia is both variations of bahasa Melayu. In Malaysia we still call it bahasa Melayu though. Bahasa Malaysia is just something for formality. So we never speak or write in bahasa Indonesia, it has always been bahasa Melayu all along. Thats also why we Malaysian understand bahasa Indonesia better than Indonesian understand bahasa Melayu/ Malaysia. Because we speak a modern version of bahasa Melayu but still know the older bahasa Melayu like the one Indonesia uses now before they rename it.

Rendang is originally from Padang (one of indonesian province) u can read wikipedia but malaysia have their own version, is like kimchi originally from korea but in china have their own kimchi too wkwk🙏
Rendang itu makanan suku Minangkabau yang dipengaruhi cita rasa dari India dan suku minang bukan di padang doang bahkan sampe Malaysia... jd klo bilang rendang dari Indonesia doang salah besar karna yg menciptakan suku Minang
@@glngnrndr8534 Tu la kaki claim benci betul

We just fighting in internet. Real world, we are family... Love each other, help each other.
also just wanna plug in something about food:
both countries have a dish consisting of rice cooked in coconut milk, usually served with chicken and sambal and may include eggs cucumber and anchovies as well. in indonesia its called "nasi uduk" while in malaysia its called "nasi lemak"
This is your most entertaining video I've ever watched.
Handsome in Malay is "Kacak", but we rarely saying that.. We call it "Hensem" as per Sabrina's.
I think "Kacak" is more like "cool" in english, in indonesia we used "Kece" it's similar.
