I really wanted to love the Mach X2, but 10k on my first run, it deeply sliced my left ankle. And yes, I was wearing ankle socks. I couldn't believe anyone could bleed that much from an ankle laceration. Couldn't even sell it on the second market because the bloodstains wouldn't come off even after a thorough wash.
Hey Nick! Thanks for the review. Do you find it to be slappy/harsh in the forefoot? Yowana reported feeling like he was stomping down on the plate in the front. I get the same feeling in the vaporfly 3s, but in the end of the run I don't feel any soreness in the forefoot despite said slapping feeling.
Interesting, the heeI comparison w Mach x2.: I sent ZF6 back largely because the heel / ankle collar is way too built up stiff, but I love the Mach x2, in all ways so much better than the ZF6. (I also sent back my Superblast 2, it felt like a pontoon boat!)
Since you actually bought the shoe, can you answer if that ENTIRE triangle wedge is ZoomX? Or does the plate run straight through the middle of that wedge making the entire bottom section of the triangle (the majority) SR02 and only the top half ZoomX? There actually appears to be relatively little Pebax in this shoe if that wedge isn't 100% ZoomX. A good bit is optical illusion cause they're using the already minimal ZoomX layer for sidewalls too. Looks less than 20% Pebax if that midfoot wedge isn't all ZoomX.
@ I really couldn't tell you, I don't know how to tell the difference by looking at the two foams. I can tell you how it feels; which is that the initial cushion feels comfortable and soft (in a good way), and below that (what you feel when you press deeper in while running) the cushion feels more firm but with little energy return. I don't love the lack of energy return / bounce from the firm stuff, especially with that much stack
Love the Hyperion Max 2! But somehow…magically because this is normally not how this works…the Zoom Fly is actually more forgiving on my slightly wider foot. The Hyperion Max 2 will give me pain on the lateral side of my foot I just have to run past until the shoe gives in a little. The ZF feels fantastic, and accommodating without being big. I’ve never said that with a Nike before.
@@jeffdover6845as a asics fanboy, i got the magic speed 4 , but its been a big disappointment- very stiff and my feet hurts after every run. Zoomfly 6 has a much soft and bouncier feel
Durability of ZoomX foam is really bad, I wouldn't buy a trainer with that foam again: my invincible 2s lasted 120km before they stopped giving any protection, and I started getting joint pain, never again.
That's really odd...my pair of Invincible V2s are at 800KM and still going strong, and they are still my shoe of choice for long downhill running in preparation for Boston. My training partner, who is much faster than me, also uses the Invincible V3 as his hill day shoe with great durability. I suspect you either had some sort of defect, or your specific mechanics just don't work with the shoe. Like me and the Boston 12....I gave it away for free it was so terrible for me.
First time since I’ve taken up running I’ve seriously considered buying a Nike shoe!
Great review, with a lot of useful feedback. Thanks mate 🥳🙏
Can't wait for the superblast 2 vs zoom fly 6 comparison
Easy win for Nike
Easy win for superblast 2
@@palmyarmyswim I don’t really care but you haven’t watched the video apparently, last bit
@@pedrofilho6818I have run in both shoes, admittedly the Nike only twice. Would invest in the superblast 2 if you run a lot.
Why compare to a non existent shoe?

Mizuno Neo Vista comparison would be a good verses video
Nice review, this is likely to go on sale quickly on Nikes website when a new color comes out so will be a deal !
Thank you Nick 👍
How is the outsole and midsole holding up after 100km? Any loss of cushion or hard wear on the rubber?

Heyo! Not had this problem at all, and it is something I get with shoes the way I slap through. This has been really comfy.
@TheRunTesters thanks!! These just went up a few notches on my wishlist! That colorway is fire too!

Got a pair in the Eliud Kipchoge colorway, gonna keep them stored away until spring.
I like the Hyperion max 2 - people sleep on it. Speed 4 is massively overrated for me. Zoomfly 6 will be my next super trainer
The Brooks is very good, you’re right. I should have mentioned it too when comparing shoes

@@TheRunTesters the H Max 2 felt a lot less bouncy than the Zoomfly 6. That was just from walking in the sports store, though
could they be used to run a marathon?
So annoyed i really liked these at first but my right foot didnt work. The heel bevel causes me heel pain. Had to send them back.
Same! Crazy heel pain for me. I sent mine back as well. Glad I'm not the only one since everyone else seems to love this shoe
curious about comparison to the Neo Vista and Puma MagMax; two great shoes for training and easy days.
This or discounted Adios Pro 3…?
Pro 3 over any shoe
AP3 lighter and faster. Only the ZF6 of its all for training runs
Had a similar decision to make and bought the AP3 for marathon pace long runs. I’m very pleased with that decision
Could you use this as a racing shoe?
Is the Mach x the new carbon x? I was a fan of the carbon x
No. Different shoe.
@ Ty
What would be a better overall shoe for training and racing, this or Vaporfly 3?
for both, this
This or the evo SL?
Which list of nike shoes are best for people with wider toe range?
This or Endorphin Speed 4
this or the mach x 2?
Did you watch the video till the end? He answered that question.
@ my bad lmfao
Mach X2 by a mile!
This or asics magic speed 4
Magic speed 4
Hoka X2
Zoom fly 6

Looks similar to the Mizuno Neovista

I went over 800KM in Invincible 3s. They were tanks.
After 4 miles in these my feet were killing me
Better than the superblast? Maybe Nike is back 😂
the large logo ruins it for me
