I bought them after watching your initial review - I LOVE them! - Never ran in the previous models, but its definitely doing what I wanted them for ! Perfect shoe, with great durability. I find it really wants you to go faster than you actually need to go! - I was running a threshold session in it the other day, looked at my watch and saw I was wayyyyy quicker than my target pace.
Fun Fact- the EK colourway is gorgeous, and the lace aglet has - 0°37'30.6"N 35°30'36.3"E - printed on it. The coordinates of the Kaptagat Forest in the Kenyan Highlands. Kipchoge has not only trained in Kaptagat but has also adopted a portion of the forest to promote reforestation efforts. His initiatives aim to restore the forest while simultaneously using it as a training ground.
I got a pair a couple of weeks ago. They were brought with not much expectation, but I've been super surprised and pleased with them. Thanks for the review Ben 👍🏼
Currently in Thailand (on holiday from the UK) and grabbed these at the Nike store in Bangkok in the EK colourway for only £120 (soon to be £115 after the later VAT refund), at that price and seeing + trying them on instore I couldn’t resist
after trying for 3 months to get superblast2 your first review sealed the deal for zoom fly 6 and I'm blown away with the shoe. Ran my PR in half marathon from out of the box shoe.
I did anaerobic intervals with these today. They're so bouncy it felt like I was skipping 😂 And I like how they look, too. They look fast. My mom asked me if they made me run faster
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but to mine, it's one good looking shoe in the Kipchoge colourway - and the white upper/blush midsole is a nice looking shoe too. The all black finish doesn't do it justice.
Thanks for another great honest review Ben!! Always appreciated 🙏🏾. I just ordered the EK edition of the shoe which looks pretty good. I agree the black version not as aesthetic. 🙌🏽
Hi Ben, really enjoy your reviews and channel. I'm loving the Vomero 17 ( your review helped 😊), and the zoom x on that shoe surprised me in picking up the pace. The zoom fly 6 looks like a mish-mash of the Vomero, vaporfly, alphafly...I agree not a looker..😅. I won't be getting the zoom fly just because I have the Mach 6 ready for Brighton marathon block. Btw pointed my mate and first time marathoner towards your intermediate training plan for Rome 👍🏽
Very nice pricing, good shoe overall. The only one bad thing for me is the look after usage. They look like they will wear as fast as alphafly's carbon bounce. Hopefully it's not the case.
I'm admittedly a huge Nike fan and rotate all Nike's now in my Marathon training block (former Hoka and Saucony super user); but this shoe is an absolute home run. It's as good as super trainers go and fill that void between recovery shoe (Invincible 3/Vomero 17) and race day shoe (vapor or alpha fly)
I was trying to get a pair of Asics Superblast 2 as my long run option and took a chance on this the Zoom Fly 6 a few weeks ago. Doing 20-30k long runs feels amazing (~100k in so far). Also how my legs felt the day after was great. Anyone doing a high mileage training camp should consider!
I was initially intrigued by these but figured I would hold off since it’s similar to the Hoka Mach X2, which I absolutely love. But a couple days ago a local sporting goods store was offering 30% off all Nike shoes so I picked them up for $119 USD. I’ve logged about 30 miles in them so far and think they’re overall pretty great. I still prefer the Mach X2 (and oddly have more heel/achilles issues in the Nike…nothing terrible, it’s just very cushioned and structured- the complete opposite of the Mach X2 where I have no issues). The Nike is a bit loud, but I usually race in Alphafly so the Zoom Fly is quiet by comparison. But overall, very happy with the Nike especially at the price I got them for. Great review as always, Ben!
@ hi Andrea! Yes, I wear the same size in both the Hoka and Nike (US 12) and they fit similarly. I really like both of them, but if forced to choose just one I would take the Hoka. It has a bit more bounce in the forefoot and for me is more comfortable for longer runs. I’ve done runs over 16-17 miles in both and find the Mach X2 to be more forgiving, responsive, and comfortable over the long run. That being said, the Nike is a great shoe and I could see many people preferring it. Oddly, I seem to have more heel/achilles rub in the more plush Nike where many people have the same issue in the Hoka. I hope that helps!
I wasn't too impressed with the ZF V6 initially, as an Alphafly user, but after seeing "Foot Doctor Zach" tear the shoe apart, I'm a believer. I'd still like to see Nike take a stab at releasing the Tempo Next% V2. But maybe this can cover that same space.
Yep, I'm still thinking if to buy it, jus recently land along woth other EK versions, I'm lazy to clean my shoes though, so i might just get a 3rd alphafly 3 in th EK colorway since I can use their 10% off voucher unlike the first 2 pairs i bought.
The Nike Zoom Fly 6 sounds pretty similar to how you've described and used the Asics Superblast 2. Which one do you prefer and are there any key differences?
Great review Ben! Though it’s very subjective and maybe even weird to call this shoe “an ugly shoe”. I personally really love the design, and think it looks like a “baby Alphafly”, which is perfectly fitting for the type of shoe it is apparently. Definitely going to get one soon for my marathon training. But yeah, just a little feedback on your content. 😄✌️👟🏁
For the first time in a long time I am thinking of buying / trying nike shoes. I own the zoomfly 5. It is a brick. I call it "the coffin". I tried the peg. Bad shoe for me - drop is too high. I might try this or the Peg plus as a replacement for the Saucony Speed. You are correct: nike has done made a good shoe in years before this one.
Tried on the Kipchoge colorway while on holiday in NZ, and I loved the fit. But they didn’t have the black color Ben has. And I think that looks much better. Might buy it in the US if it goes on sale.
I ran nine miles twice on a treadmill. Each time, I felt like something got stuck on the outsole on the outerside under the ball of fhe Right Foot. Nothing was on the outsole. I think there could be some defect in the midsole. The left shoe is fine.
Actually that EVA looks like a very soft formulation judging from the way it deforms under load in your b roll, and I've heard other reviewers say it's actually quite soft, possibly even softer than the zoomx.
It is soft but even just pressing it though it doesn't bottom oit might be the stack height, and yeah you won't fell the carnon plate like you do on a vaporfly3.
I’m trying to figure out what’s Nikes thought process with the peg plus. Why is it priced $10 more than this shoe? I’m a big fan of the peg plus but the only issue is the price tag.
Loving mine, putting out some good times in them. sort of agree about the looksthehink the could have release some nicer colourways. The black and white is boring.
One thing I'm interested in are the shoelaces. I currently have the Zoomfly 5 and what I dislike about it is how much effort I have to put in to properly tie the shoe so that it does not untie in the middle of my run and so that my foot does not wobble around. Has this improved in the Zoomfly 6? Or am I the only one who disliked the sholeaces in 5 in particular?
Thanks for this shoe review Ben. May I know is this shoe good for flat feet overpronation. I am using Soucenny endorphin pro 3 now. If not what do you recommend? Thanks in advance.
I have both the Endorphin Pro 3 and the Zoom Fly 6 EK. I use these shoes for different purposes (Endorphin Pro 3 for racing, Zoom Fly 6 for training), and I am not sure that I would put them in the same category. I am also a bit of an overpronator and I don't feel like either of these shoes offers a lot of support, but using these shoes for somewhat faster runs, I don't have particular issues with either.
The black is a bad colourway. I won't be getting it. I wonder if a softer plate is better for slower runners. I find the VF/AF plates a little too stiff for the amount of time I am running.
Ordered another pair of Tempos last week after hearing all of the mixed reviews on this one. 😂 I know for a FACT that the tempo works for me so I didnt want to risk it
@eulogyforadream damn really? Everyone is different and so are their needs. I don't take shoe longer than needed just because but my first pair of superblast lasted 650 miles before I retired them from long runs. Still feel good for less than 6. My second pair is at 250 and are in their prime 🤣. Some shoe I'm surprised that they feel like doo doo at 100 miles and other just get better after 100. I'm definitely looking at getting the ZF6...especially when Nike has a sale
@therangersinger I'm a pretty big runner and I'm not light on my feet. I just ran long in them yesterday. They still feel great. I may take them to 400 miles.
This is better than dn2(have 3 pairs), i skipped on dn3s because of the higher drop. Hearing that dn2 is still better than dn3d then this should be better too.
I tried Alphafly 3, Vaporfly 3 and Zoom Fly 6 recently - the same size (US9 in my case) fit me just fine on all three models. The one model where I felt that I'd need to go up one size was the Pegasus 41.
You've mentioned good durability in the outsole and upper but the midsole looks pretty worn for 100miles, do you think you'll get that to 400+ without the foam giving in?
I agree..that black colorway is ugly. Why does Nike make these shoes so noisy, the Alpha Fly too..? Is it a that slap slap slap, here comes a Nike runner trade mark..😂
I bought them after watching your initial review - I LOVE them! - Never ran in the previous models, but its definitely doing what I wanted them for ! Perfect shoe, with great durability. I bought the Eliud Kipchoge version which looks really nice. So far, I love this shoe. Might be the shoe for my first marathon next year.
Does it look nice? I've been debating whether to go for that colourway or just the standard black? 🤔

I opted for the New Balance SC Trainers version 3 early last month. Another carbon plated everyday shoe.
