Excellent, friend I would like to have information on the materials I use to make the pulse sensor, if you can give me the information in which you have bought the materials, I would greatly appreciate it friend
Hi, I have been looking for a BNC connector like the one you used on this video.I ordered some on AMAZON but they are too small. I looked for the number on the package you have 21-37-1 but could not find it. Thank you Nelson
yo pondria una junta torica del diametro del sensor de bajo de el, para que pueda pandear mejor, porque de la manera que lo has puesto no vibrara lo suficiente y chocara con el plastico
Thanks for the great video forkliftgeek! Is the sensor out of a smoke detector better than a piezo off of eBay ? What model of smoke detector did you use?
During testing though, you apply positive pressure and make sure the voltage goes up and with negative pressure the voltage goes below zero. If it was the other way you reverse the connection.
Hello, Your piezo sensor looks to be about 45mm diameter. Do you think we could get by with a 35mm diameter sensor. That size is readily available but larger sensors are not. Naturally the PVC fittings would have to be smaller as well.
+Bill Nelson i dont think there would be a problem with that. Although I've never tried it with a smaller piezo before. But the reaction of the sensor should be same.
Forkliftgeek. Thanks for the quick reply. I'll give you some feedback once we get this together. No sense leaving everyone in the dark on that question.
+david cisneros if you want to get the vacuum reading of each cylinder then the answer is no. This tool is used to see if the cylinders are drawing vacuum equally. If you want to be able to get the vacuum reading of each cylinder then a MAP sensor would be more appropriate. But you need an oscilloscope that can give great detail.
+david cisneros yes a MAP sensor would give you a voltage reading corresponding to manifold pressure. But the reading is the average of all cylinders, to see each cylinder pull you have to zoom in quite a lot. That's why I said you need a scope that give great detail even when zoomed in. Fuel tank sensor is good for exhaust.
I noticed piezo sensor had 3 wires then u must have removed the red one,my piezo has 3 spring loaded leads instead of hardwired ones like yours.question should I look for another smoke alarm or should I be OK soldering wires to piezo,my concern was solder heat, come to think about I might just use conductive adhesive Give me your opinion.this weekend I'm building one like yours and one with a fps and a few high psi transducers
+harvey jackass I've had to solder wires directly unto the piezo before and was ok so I don't see any problem with that. Fps works fine with exhaust pulses but u have to use a map sensor if you want to see intake vacuum pulses.
If you use a map sensor, does it need a 5 volt reference to read correctly, or is it just the bending of a board or something in a map that changes resistance?
Bro, your rubber hose is way too long, look at older engines with MAP sensors, they started out with longer vacuum hoses, then the sensors were moved closer to the manifold then the MAP was mounted on the manifold. The pressure pulses in longer hoses are baffled or softened and don't give a very accurate waveform. This post is for future readers of your nice video, thanks.
I used a 1" PVC quick disconnect and two plugs with a 35mm sensor. Works perfect.
That’s weird seeing 35mm is bigger than 1-1/4” how are you doing that?
Very nice video, I didn't realize that one of these were so easy to build. Thanks a million.
Nice to have a neighbor that checks on you.
Well done man Great video from start to finish.
muchas gracias por compartir la informacion, me fue de mucha ayuda
very well done video and informative that i see so many posibility that i can do with that pulse sensor thanks you sir
Very nicely done. Thanks for providing that information.
Thank you for this video !
Great video, Can I use a EFM-290ED for my pulse sensor out of a kidde firex smoke alarm THREE PIN
I think you could. Just figure out which 2 would produce an ac signal.
@@forkliftgeek10 Used The Pins Labeled G And M, Works Great On My Modis Thanks Again
Great video. What size of barb did you use? 9/16 flat or other?
Does this work the same on the air inlet thus on vacuum?
Awsome😊

Great video. You can buy these piezo sensors with an aluminium cover would they work just as well or would it affect the sensitivity?
To be honest I've never tried. I think it would work but the amplitude might be smaller.

Bill Eli that’s a female BNC connector there’s no other size other than that.
@@adrianovergara1784 what is the pico scop program you are using

Thank Q. Great video. What model is your tough book?
It's a CF-19

+Shawn Kirkpatrick i dont think there would be a difference. Sorry did not pay attention to what model it was.
Great video! Question: Why did you connect to the Feedback part of the disk instead of the Anode part? Thanx...
I don't think there would be a difference since the voltage produced would be AC.

OK, great.
Thanx.
how can i obtain 1 or 2 of them do you sell them and at what Price ?
Great! What are that oscilloscope?

hello , do you think that can be use as a vacuum transducer? you know to check negative intake pressure

The MAP sensor needs a 5v supply and a negative to work.
