I own this drive myself. At the time I bought it, it was by far the fastest on paper for the price, and I’m glad to see it also performs well in all the benchmarks. Firmware updates are pretty hard to find for the drive though. They used to post firmware updates on the product page, but they pulled all the firmware when people started bricking their drives. I think people were trying to install the regular S70 firmware on the S70 Blade (they are different drives, S70 has 96L NAND, S70 Blade has 176L NAND) and bricked them, possibly because the firmware installer didn’t differentiate between S70 and S70 Blade. The ADATA SSD Toolbox app never says new firmware is available when checking either.
I just remembered to register mine maybe last week - no more than two weeks ago - and when I did and installed the toolbox I had no problem installing firmware version 3.2.F.66. Just now checked and the toolbox "check update" button returns a message saying that I'm on the latest firmware version after a few seconds. Is there something I should know?

I've had the 2TB model for the last 8 months, using it as my system drive, and have had no issues. I tested it in CrystalDiskMark when I got it and the speeds were close to as advertised. I just ran the ADATA SSD ToolBox software and it said that I've written 10TB in 8 months and the remaining lifetime is 99%. That suggests that, at my current rate, it should last about 66 years. So, I guess that I don't need to worry any more about writing too much to it.

Yeah I bought a sx8200 from Amazon. And then learned about the variety of versions. I did still buy the S70 blade 2tb as it was only $12 more than the Samsung 970 2tb gen3. I heard ADATA made a statement about not doing such a thing on these and all future drives.

is that true? im planning to buy the s70 blade for my secondary storage because what i heard that sx8200 pro is the one having all the issues, does s70 blade act the same?
Prices have dropped A LOT. I got my 4TB S70 Blade for no less than 260€. And to think a year ago you could at best get 2TB for the same money. Currently in EU it shows as one of the cheapest 4TB gen4 models. I bought it for games and i figured i will lose some unnoticeable amount of performance going with S70 Blade instead of say 990 Pro 2TB (i have 1TB 990 Pro as system drive) considering the fact that games keep getting bigger and bigger, then 4TB will be more beneficial than a faster 2TB model.
Excellent review as always. I found this ssd on sale and I was wondering if it was worth it. Considering the performance and the price I got, I'm buying two :D (One for my daily drive laptop and one for the living room gaming pc) Thanks for sharing!
Looks great. Going to get this with the $10 MHQJRH M.2 2280 SSD heatsink that Amazon sells. My x570 board only came with one smaller one and going to keep that for my other NVMe 1TB ssd since I know that one fits underneath my GPU already. I want better cooling for this one with nothing above it.
got this for 50 bucks (USD) here in Malaysia for the 1TB while the others such as FURY Renegade , MP600 PRO LPX , WD BLACK SN850 and such , cost MORE Than 120USD
When everyone talks about the temperature of NVME, they compare it to PCs and big heatsinks. But what about when using these super fast SSDs in a laptop / notebook... where there is no space for a large heatsink, what about the temperature issue?
one more addition I wish you would have mentioned in the video: the SSD is double sided. While it doesn't matter for me, I feel like that is a little bit of information a review could include. Otherwise I really like your reviews!

I have 2 questions, I would like to acquire that XPG gammix S70 for my PS5, but I find the included heatsink borderline, is there a good heatsink you recommend that I can purchase separately which would be compatible with that SSD and will fit in my PS5 ? Would the included heatsink work in combination with another heatsink ?
Technically you can slap it on top of the default heatsink but it'll work better if you connect it directly. I just don't know how strongly they've connected/glued it to the parts :-/ These are the standard two I recommend based on price / general availability: For PC & PS5 - United States - QIVYNSRY Heatsink (~$9) amzn.to/326gLUi For PC & PS5 - Europe - be quiet! MC1 Heatsink (~€13) amzn.to/3ftPcHL
In India its only $78 for the 1tb variant with the heat spreader as well. which is priced way below the other 7000Mbps+ options across brands. is this a no brainer deal then? especially for the ps5 use only?
Ahh India, where they cook food squatting in their bare feet on the concrete with no running water, and assault woman left and right. You got more pressing issues than SSDs.

I personally find that many external ssds have a lot of compromises and yet still are way overpriced compared to their internal counterparts. Edit : I meant internal ssd inside a usb enclosure, initially typed controller.
Yeah, it is the same with other pc components. For instance, the MSRP drop on GPUs from nvidia is something we simply did not get here. All the while life got much more expensive in the EU than it did in the US. Brands really need to start to get back to the real world.

So what is tbw for this nvme in their website they mentioned that 2960tb
No one still close to the 530 for TBW, this should be added as well to the chart, speed is one thing but if everything breaks who cares
I just don't know how strongly they've connected/glued it to the parts :-/
These are the standard two I recommend based on price / general availability:
For PC & PS5 - United States - QIVYNSRY Heatsink (~$9) amzn.to/326gLUi
For PC & PS5 - Europe - be quiet! MC1 Heatsink (~€13) amzn.to/3ftPcHL
Can you do Asus strix g15 2022 3060 version review .. just wanna know what amd 6000 series are offering ??
5:59 Meanwhile, the price of this thing dropped so far that it's now the cheapest in it's class with 103€ for the 2TB version :D
only mentions about ps and pc, but can it fit in a laptop?
The KC3000 stil the best
How come?
In India its only $78 for the 1tb variant with the heat spreader as well.
which is priced way below the other 7000Mbps+ options across brands.
is this a no brainer deal then?
especially for the ps5 use only?
only the p3 plus specifically costs lower than this in India, but it doesn't meet the min specs for ps5(just in case), for the future.
Ahh India, where they cook food squatting in their bare feet on the concrete with no running water, and assault woman left and right. You got more pressing issues than SSDs.
For my PS5, I had 2 of these in the past year.
Both from Amazon, Both have failed after about 5 months each.
Now getting a refund. Will probably look at firecuda next.
Ouch :-/
Is this support Encloser?
MN 5236 issue with innogrit controller
Will this ssd work or suitable for Laptop Acer Helios Neo 16? Because I want to upgrade the SSD in my laptop.
I'm not sure, but I have the same question
anyone got 2 of them working on linux ?
it's productcode gets seen as a pci-address, so my system only sees one 🙃
I have gen3 slot..please suggest me should i go with Samsung 970evo plus or xpg gammix s70 blade..please reply..or would you recommend me best gen3 ssd to buy in today time..
On PCI-e gen 3 the 970 evo plus should be fine. Samsung are more stable drives. I had a S70 blade which started to fail after 4 months of light usage on a PC...And I read that many users experienced something similar.
I would recommend you to buy samsung 780 pro than s 70 because My XPG gaming X S 70 blade 2 Tb died after 3 months
It won't boot and when i check it in the nvme configuration it shows as MN-5236 and disk size shoes 2.1 GB and sometimes when i remove the drive and install it again it shows S 70 Blade 2TB and when i run a device self test ( controllor only ) my bios freezes
Also my nvme idles around a 50 C and the max reeding i have seen on hw monitor is 62 C
Can it be because of temperature?
What could be the cause of my problem
How can i fix it
Pls help 🙏 me
This or the Kingston KC3000 for an extra $20 CAD?
What did you get as I am now in the same boat
What about TBW?
Whats with the sabrent rocket tags and chapter titles?

Does it work as external ssd for xbox series?
i found this ssd now cheapes for 2tb seem good
the price of this ssd has dropped is this the same ssd or they changed the hardware ..can I buy it ..please reply
I cant say, but i made another video on this SSD you might want to check out.
Nice Thxs 👍🏻
Samsung T7 Shield, Seagate FireCuda, GdriveTM Pro Ultra Rugged ,
From the above 3 which is worth getting, which is fastest?
Can make a Video on highend External SSD 1TB
Thanks
The best external ssd is always a high end internal ssd inside a decent usb enclosure. I personally find that many external ssds have a lot of compromises and yet still are way overpriced compared to their internal counterparts.
Edit : I meant internal ssd inside a usb enclosure, initially typed controller.

Thanks bro
Pricing in Europe is just a pure ripoff, 60% higher price than in the US is unacceptable.
Yeah, it is the same with other pc components. For instance, the MSRP drop on GPUs from nvidia is something we simply did not get here. All the while life got much more expensive in the EU than it did in the US. Brands really need to start to get back to the real world.
Same in Canada.
My laptop is idealpad gaming 3i i5 10ge is not getting 5000 Red and write speed? What is the problem
Is that even a Gen4 slot? :)
@@TechTesters idk but how to find out ?
Do not recommend this it is good and fast but this SSD get the detection problem within the one year usage and the service and replacement process is very bad. They will say you will get your replacement within 7 days but it's been 12 day's and they keep saying that we haven't got the stock yet and it's really frustrating.

Avoid this one! a 2 TB unit died on me yesterday, just like that after a meager 4 months of usage. Unfortunately, it was my system drive. Lost tons of valuable info and apps, settings, you know what it's like. Alas, that's what I get for being a penny-pinching miser 😢 lesson learned I guess.
This ssd or Kingston KC3000?!! i need help 🙏
KC3000 imho
you get what you paid for, you want a cheap price you get a cheap performance and endurance!!!

Hi bro any update on your issue?
@@RTXzenith i am using a replacement unit now
That just happened to me when I downloaded their piece of ish app and tried to run a diagnostic test. Luckily my motherboard repaired the ssd when I rebooted PC for second time. Used Revo Uninstaller and wiped their BS app off my PC.
@@Jaykurosakii How your motherboard repaired the ssd ???
@@dragoonxgamer well not motherboard, the ssd repaired itself on 2nd boot. At first, it would go straight into bios because my original boot order wasn’t selected. It showed MN-5236 in bios like you said. I shut down my pc while in bios. I’m not sure if this helped but I’ll bring it up. My Ethernet cable was disconnected during the first boot failure. I reconnected it, booted up again and my SSD started to repair itself until it reached 100%. I don’t remember exactly what it said.
How many m.2 ssd has Stephan to test 🤣
i just got this in 1TB for $66
Can I use it on my gaming laptop
No one seems to be answering thsi question

@@tanjiro._ Thanks, could you also tell for how long its been in gaming laptop, like you got it recently or its been there for long term?
I'm planning to go ahead with the purchase as its on sale at a great price😃
@@TheAayushChawlaI guess it's been 6 months.
Its about 85 dollars in india

I was looking at buying this once, but didn't. So many great Nvmes are the market for decent prices for 1TB. Though I imagine PCIe 5.0 drives would be at least double the cost when they release.
And 2nd I love your videos
I got myself a Corsair MP600 Pro XT 2TB after watching this video..
Seems like a safe choice :)

@@dragoonxgamerIt is the controller on it which is the problem ie. not heat related. It's bricked. You will need to RMA and rather buy another brand.
