I escaped from one urban area to a smaller city 20 years ago, but then that smaller city accelerated to urbanism the last 5 years and I feel like I barely escaped with my life (uber liberal homeless west coast hell). I did what you mentioned, moved to a very small, remote town far from any cities, on the northern plains. I love it here and you are right, every place is hiring.

I am I immigrant I was born Cuba. My family fled socialism and communism and tyranny from that country. Intense to them I'm so proleach sonar so great to be in the United States of America. I will say this God bless this country. God bless the Lord. And I believe in the second amendment. Doesn't matter you are left or right you have to have a little bit of common sense to realize what's happening. We cannot go no more further down. We have to race up with Grace and God. And become a country that it used to be efficient and reliable. And I really love your video

Those days are gone and it isn’t coming back unless we have some kind of civil war which I don’t see coming. The youth of America have been so brainwashed by the education system that they hate America and would rather be socialist.

Almost got to live in Kelowna 9 years ago and had it not been for a border agent being mean and sending be back, I would have been working on my dual citizenship and doing what I do there which is partially what you do.. Am trying to at least get back to Washington State after spending the last year in Florida and hoping I get to rebuild in Washington and make it back up to all the friends in Canada. Some of the best times were the trips to Canada~

Nice segue onto the topic of small towns.
I have moved from a city of around Kelowna’s size in SW Ontario to the country just outside of urban Ottawa. Best decision I ever made, I am in the process of building up a homestead and have always valued your book and online content. I deliberately do all of my business in the small towns outside of Ottawa quite deliberately to help transfer economic activity from the great sucking maw of the big city to the smaller towns.
Here in Ontario, policy since the mid-2000s has favoured larger cities. With the changes of Ontario Hydro to more expensive solar and wind power which caused massive increases in energy costs, and increased cost of labour due to taxes and regulations, we lost a lot of manufacturing. It used to be that in most small towns, if you were Joe Bagofdonuts from Anytown, and you graduated high school and attended neither trade school nor university, there was a job at the local factory for you. Those factories are now gone, *deliberately* chased from our shores because of climate change and social justice, naturally.
Coupled with this has been a significant expansion in the civil service sector. The government became a competitor for labour with private industry. Especially during the McGuinty/Wynne era, those jobs were overwhelmingly placed in big cities, mostly the GTA.
For the little remaining industry and trades, pay rates in small towns are now much lower than in the cities. One of my friends drives over an hour from the town of Lanark to Kanata. He’s an automotive technician. He says the difference in taking the same job in his town or Perth (a town of about 7000 about 10 minutes away) is $10/hr, and possibly as much as 3 hours less per day.
I agree wholeheartedly that small town living is greatly preferable to city living. But there does need to be caution that some small towns have few work opportunities sufficient to cover the cost of living for people renting or with a significant mortgage in some areas of the country. When planning your homestead or urban flight, factor in the potential cost of commuting or downgrading your employment.

Rural/Small Town post offices have perpetual "hiring now" signs in the windows. Rural post offices are totally different from urban/suburban ones. It's really not a bad job and it comes with great benefits and job security in tough economic times. Some jobs are part time, some are full time. Perfect for rural living.

There's still a lot of really great info on YT, BUT its gotten massively harder to find. You have to know the names you're looking for and plug them in, and a lot of those folks copy their stuff to Rumble now because they have to. Yes YT has gotten super discouraging and not nearly as much fun, but it's not completely dead as a resource; you still being on here is great, IMHO, and I do greatly appreciate the intellect that you bring. So the platform is not dead yet, and who knows -- maybe it can come back at some point the way X has come back.

ya Curtis i like your take on many things , I often look at things like you do in life and i try to follow things the best i can media wise , but i give it alot less attention and focus on the tasks at hand at being as setup as possible now . being a construction/landscaping self employed labourer for about the last 30yrs off and on ive found that as much as im all over the place working . At night with lights often i work on greenhouses and gardens and building my own place as quickly as i can now lol. (much smaller than yours) and i love mountains but the best ive managed is im lookin at one here in Quebec , im gratful for that .Your place would be perfection in my book. so congrats man. i made a choice when the pandemic started to give up the place i had and move back to where my parents were . i had to stay with my mom for 3 yrs before i could start building on the spare lot she had . Anyways my point is i had to be the 45 yr old living with his mom joke in order to accomplish the level of prepping i wanted to get done !!. So in my experience most of the time your gonna have to do things you wouldnt want to do otherwise, being in the time constraints we all have to work with trying to prepare now. Turns out if i hadnt been here my parents would have fallen for the jab because of the people around them , so theres gonna be little perks along the way if you just decide you have to get something done thats overwhelming to you until you chip away at it a little and find your groove .Anyways just worry about you and try to get it done to the best you can , thats all you can do . thanks again Curtis and keep up the great work. take care

There is so many people who can't diagnose simple issues either in their house or car. Let alone even fix it.

Sad. Even more sad for their kids who learn to call a guy to fix their broken things issues.

You should watch Tucker Carlson's interview with Alex Jones -- it's actually why AJ got unbanned -- Tucker interceded for him with Elon. I felt like, in the interview with Tucker, AJ was calmer and more reflective than I've even seen him. I was not a big fan previously because AJ would get into crazy extremism ("rambling," yes!). But now he's talking about the research he does to inform himself and just seems saner somehow. I'm keeping an open mind about all these guys you mentioned. There are good things about all and potentially questionable things about all. I try to take truth where I find it and yet not trust any narrative too much...because we have all been fooled so many times. I approach everything now with a healthy dose of skepticism.

So anyone that doesn't - 1. have a nest egg, 2. have the luxury of working remotely in a LCOL while making a HCOL wage. 3. have some type of in demand skill -
Can't actually afford to live on the wages that those small towns are offering. My friend works for $9/ hr works like 6 hours/ day/ 4 days of the week in one of these 'small towns' and still has normal financial duties. I'm not trying to sound rude however the older generations are much more out of touch with the younger generations struggles. If you're over 40 you simply cannot relate to the young mans struggle. In dating or work. I think it's ignorant to give advice not knowing the current landscape or as you say "have skin in the game"

I was having a conversation maybe a year ago about the state of things. The other party was making the claim that by not being up to date or sharing the views/understandings that I have that his life was better than mine. Essentially ignorance is bliss. I pointed out that the moves I was making ensured that I win regardless of what happens. The opposite often does not hold true (if you're not deliberate, you are at risk). It's the difference between complaining about the world and just manifesting one's dreams.

Towns are the way forward, my adopted town is 30k but extends into mountain valleys to make probably 50k and I find people are relevant and also accountable in this type of settlement. Most people in town have land and village houses. Its surprising how much industry and agriculture and in our case tourism a town can have. Everything works, no heavy traffic, superfast internet, loads of shops and supplies .......Central Bulgarian Mountains. My native UK is now a toxic shithole

Watching from Australia. There’s a lot of people here thinking the same way as our host. Ppl know the story sold by the new world order isn’t something we want.
Elon Musk is a welcome change from Jack Dorsey. When we saw thousands of people being censored for daring to think.
Alex Jones is an acquired taste. I still find Alex outlandish. But as with all poets and comics, we have to take notice of the outliers to recognise if we are on or off track. It’s still weird realising the outlandish claims he made a few years ago, turned out to have solid underlying truths.
Tucker Carlson is becoming more popular in Australia. His style resonates with the Aussies.
Wrt Trump. I feel he is the bulldozer we need to change course. Other politicians have piled onto Trump’s MAGA and based philosophy. He is far from perfect and idolatry will distract us from a true path forward. Given the attacks, I feel Trump deserves our support over others

The psychosis in cities is simply down to numbers, more people, more madness. Country people are the same, they may appear slower etc, but they are also degenerate , paedophile, domestic abusers, violent, and thieves, and some are even decent. I find you often jump to naive analysis, example when the creep said to you your daughter was beautiful, and you should think of getting her in media, you did not identify this as an inappropriate remark, and that he could have been a paedophile just sussing you out.

I see. You know, one of the most challenging things for me around all of this is the "packaging" of various aspects of what's going on into what amount to various cults almost. These various groups present their positions as the accurate and righteous account of reality, whilst another on the seeming opposite side of the spectrum makes wildly varying assertions and they too are trying to convince every one that they are the accurate and righteous ones. And everyone seems to be rushing to choose one of these sides or groups as theirs that they'll get behind and fight and die to defend! But any assertion that one or the other of these groups has it ALL right is a false choice. Things are both significantly more complicated and in some ways far simpler than that I feel. It's all very discouraging on a global and collective human scale, so I try to keep my wits about me, stay awake and listen and trust with my heart and soul.
It's pretty obvious that our government (here in the US at least) is corrupt and barely functioning anymore. Pretty clear that one cannot trust the "news" (propaganda from the right OR the left) or all the fear mongering and pressure to put oneself on a steady diet of vaccines, etc. But it's also obvious to me that Alex Jones and most of his ilk are extremely unreliable and dangerous as well. Alex specifically stokes fear, paranoia, hysteria and violence for his own agenda, not for the sake of real/actual truth, as do most of the other people and groups.
From where I stand, there doesn't seem to be anyone or any thing that's 100% "TRUE" in terms of any one group or organization at this point. There's only your own eyes and ears and heart, and your connection with Spirit. Most everything else has at least a vein or more of inaccurate propaganda running through it, even if those spreading it believe it with all their heart.
In any event, thanks for being honest. I will continue learning what I can from you about homesteading and farming, and sharing anything I think might serve others in some way. I of course wish for you and your young family the resilience and sovereignty you're striving for. @@offgridcurtisstone
