New Fendt 942 Vario | 57m spraying | Tulip harvest explained | Franzen Landbouw | Part 2

- It is summer 2020 and we return to Dutch farming enterprise Franzen Landbouw for our second video of the year. A brand new 6th generation Fendt 942 Vario has just been delivered on the farm and we follow its first moves drilling a field of hemp. The farms impressive 57m (171ft) wide Delvano Euro-Trac 6000 self-propelled sprayer is out spraying winter wheat.
On June 15th harvest 2020 starts with the first field of tulip bulbs being lifted out of a ground. A contractor is using specialist machinery to carry out this task. Two of the 4 new Fendt 724 Vario S4 tractors are seen in action helping out during the lifting.

Interesting fact: Netherlands is the 2nd largest exporter of agricultural goods behind the USA, with exports earning $79 billion in 2013. They export two-thirds of the world’s fresh-cut plants, flowers, and flower bulbs.

I think alot of people forget where thier food and other goods come from. I have a tiny garden and that's a pain to deal with, I couldn't imagine dealing with hundreds of acres.

I use 2 Sony video camera's, my DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone and some GoPro's.

yeah that must be a mistake, 15l of skyway is also too much by about factor 10. Maybe that was the total amount for a 10-15ha field.

Most interesting and the explanations help a lot. I admire the Fendt tractors but it would be interesting to know what they cost to buy or lease.
Lease I don't know but I think a fully specced 942 will set you back about €250.000?

How come the sprayer is going so slow?
Because it is rather wide and we don't want the boom to snap off! If you go slower the application is also better with less drift.

oof, has the rear window and roof hatch open during the tulip harvest and its very dusty, cant imagine how the tractor will look like after just one day. the driver makes his workplace bad in the way hes sitting in the dust unecessarily, breathing it in etc. otherwise this whole operation looked great

I believe its illegal in the UK but not here.

Mist be serious money in tulips
It is a very valuable crop indeed but also expensive to grow. This year however due to COVID-19 it is also difficult for tulip growers as there is less demand. Especially for the fresh flowers. In Holland millions were thrown away.
Sure can tell they don't have Mexico as a neighbor.

All well and good showing all this fancy machines and tractor, however the sight of a none guarded PTO shaft is the wrong way of promoting agriculture, safety is the most important thing on any farm. Lets hope is not seen again and has been repaired.
