    Gday Jim, the cost adds up and if you were to buy the materials here in Australia then I believe you’ll be digging a lot deeper in your pocket, to me that’s a very reasonable price, cheers

      Matty - The cost is relative what kind of math your working with . I'm not greedy , I'm looking for a reasonable return on my money . When your greedy , you put other people into the same business . - Jim

      @@TangentJim "when you're greedy,you put other people into the same business" That is a great philosophy and one I fully agree with.
      I've seen it happen many times over where someone created a really good product but got far too ambitious with their pricing....the outcome of which is usually someone else quickly sets up in business with the same or similar product for a much lower price.
      Then the original makers market share becomes compromised.

      Howard - We are both on the same page . "My motto is 'Never feed a Pig Strawberries" Why ? Because the Pig will gouge himself . Henry Ford did O.K.
      with his low priced Model "T" Obviously Henry Ford ate regular . -- Jim

    I like it. Could the ball be retained in the bushing so it won’t fall out? Could it be staked with a
    Punch on the outer edge to hold it in place?
    Thanks Bob

      Bob - Staking is a good idea. But how do you remove it ?
      If you remove the bearing , you can't push it out in that direction. There is a shoulder stopping it. -- Jim

    Wow !! I should have waited ! for 50 bucks, I would have been money ahead to let you do it
    Best regards Steve

      Steve - you know what they say . That 's the way the Mop flops . Hopefully my $50
      quote materializes . I don't want to look like a fool. -- Jim

    $50 would be a real bargain in my opinion... Just plain tool holders are more than that in 3/4" shank! Chineseium is pretty cheap but usually only in metric sizes, and some of them are really poor quality! It'll be interesting to see if the $50 will be doable! As usual good stuff! Thanks Jim!

      Jim - Like I said - I think it's doable . Let's see what the math tells me. -- Jim

    Very nice. I would take 2 if you start selling them, one for work and one for home.

    Use a circlip to hold the ball in. It does not have to hold the ball hard against the bearing.

    • @TangentJim
      @TangentJim  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tates11 - There is very little room . I looked for a single wire clip - No Luck . - Jim

    • @tates11

      Could you set the bearing further back and have less of the ball sticking out?

    • @TangentJim
      @TangentJim  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tates11 - Yes I could . But the ball refuses to fall out . If it ain't broke don't fix it .
      I'm going into a holding pattern. Thanks for your help . -- Jim

    I'd take one for $50 bucks.
    It would be nice if the carbide ball could be retained somehow. So when I leave it in a tool holder the ball don't go flying across the shop every time I forget it's loose.
    Maybe a slightly thicker bronze bushing and back bore most of it to size. Then press it in after the ball?

    • @TangentJim
      @TangentJim  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Eitri -- You have the same concerns as I have. Based on my limited use,the Carbide Ball stays in place .I know that is not an answer. But it's all I got at this moment. Like they say in the high rent district . I'll pencil you in . -- Jim

      Maybe cut an ID groove in bushing and add a cheap O ring.

    • @TangentJim
      @TangentJim  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Jim - Great Idea . I can't argue with that . I'm going to go into a holding pattern and see what shakes loose . I hope I don't have to use it. -- Jim
