  • In this king salmon fishing video we jump right on the early fall salmon run 2021. As they say go big or go home so we drove up to northern Michigan to enjoy king salmon fishing Michigan rivers. In northern Michigan king salmon fishing Michigan rivers can be like bluegill fishing at times and although we were early in the 2021 king salmon run once we got in a good spot and daylight hit we were on the fish left and right. It turned out that our honey hole was super hot. After a while we drew a crowd of salmon fisherman and we invited them to share the hot honey hole with us and ended up having a great time river fishing for salmon with strangers we met on the river. Salmon run fishing draws a lot of people and it was a treat to share the river with a bunch of decent folk! It is no surprise king salmon fishing brings all the boys to the yard because king salmon fight like hell!
    If you are tracking the fall salmon run in 2021 make sure to stay tuned as I will be salmon fishing until 2022 hits. If you want to know how to catch salmon in the river check out my salmon fishing videos playlist for salmon fishing tips and tricks that will give you a better how to catch river salmon while fishing Michigan rivers for king salmon and coho salmon! Also your comments increase my engagement score so more people will see my fishing videos ;)
    If you are fishing in Michigan and are looking for Michigan fishing videos look no further as I have content for most species Michigan has to offer. Whether you are into fishing small creeks for brown trout or Flathead catfish fishing I am into it all. This year I will try hard to get my first Musky and my first sturgeon and with any luck a few other species.
    Reel Michigan Anglers is a collection of Michigan Outdoors Videos made by real Michigan Fisherman. Not professional anglers but average guys on their quest to catch as many epic fish as possible. Michigan fishing flows through my veins like water flows through Michigan rivers and I enjoy sharing my Michigan fishing adventures with you all in the form of educational and entertaining fishing videos. I love fishing for all species in all bodies of water but have a particular passion for Michigan river fishing. Fishing Michigan rivers has brought me so much joy and excitement and my zen place is me standing in a river with a fishing rod in my hands. I am not in this for the fame or the attention my goal is to help other fisherman grow and learn with me and to get paid to fish which I do now thanks to all of you lovely viewers. Try using a trailer hook under your spawn bag. About 3 or 4in under. They short bite it and you barely hook them and lose a lot of fish. With a trailer you'll get better hook ups. If your busting them off trash your flourocarbon and try mono its much stronger.

    What size rod and reels do you use there for these Salmon?

    • @ReelMichiganAnglers
      @ReelMichiganAnglers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this video I was using a 9‘6“ lamiglass X11 And my buddy was using the 9 foot version of the same pole. Next time I go I am bringing the same set up as well as a 12 foot and 13 foot rod to see if it makes a difference to have the extra length or not for fighting fish. As far as real anything good size they can hold a lot of wine and has a good drag. If you’re looking for an affordable real I would go with a pfluger president or president XT size 3000 or 4000. In this video I’m using a Shimano nasty 2500 which has an extra large spool capacity for a 2500 size reel. I would most likely switch to a larger spool on a bigger river where I need more casting distance and where a fish is more likely to be able to run down river more.

    • @jacobwhite281
      @jacobwhite281 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was gonna say bro you need to go 3500 or 4000 in the reel. You were slaying. Main thing I saw was you were reeling against the drag. Let it run and fight the rod/drag and when it stops it’s run lift the rod, reel down, repeat. Then again, I’ve lost the last 4 kings I’ve hooked in the harbor jigging so what the hell do I know. 😂

    • @ReelMichiganAnglers
      @ReelMichiganAnglers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a very large swath of possible definitions to the word snagging. we are fishing a legal method and practicing catch and release. I report snaggers and have personally submitted evidence to close cases of poaching and snagger pieceof shit fisherman on the river. The DNR know who I am and often reach out to me to help with cases Where I might have some information on a fisherman in question. You’re barking up the wrong tree if you’re calling me a snagger lol I would encourage you to check out more of my content. You will find that I am not only a catch and release fisherman but a conservational advocate who spends his own free time cleaning up the banks of local rivers and helping to educate the younger generations of fisherman. also it will please your elitist attitude to know that I am bringing all my float fishing gear for salmon camp this year. Tight lines ;)

    • @ReelMichiganAnglers
      @ReelMichiganAnglers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another reference I have the diawa revros 2500 which is a little bit smaller in size and quite a bit smaller in-line capacity. That diawa is a nice little real but the line capacity is garbage I can see bare spool after a long distance cast after freshly respooling. After just a few weeks worth of break off‘s and re-tying I can cast it all the way until it stops at the knot. :(
