Remember: that email that went out to selected Bilt customers clawing back points. They may have reversed the clawback but they were thinking about it.
I’ve only had majorly great Bilt customer service but that’s just me. An example is when I was first approved, usps had shipping issues and Bilt restarted the 5x promotion for me after it had ended.
I may have missed it but I think you left out linking your Hyatt and AA accounts for shared spending at each business. You need certain statuses in each program but if you’re going for it then there is no downside and maybe some easy points
One thing that I've found AI/Chat GPT/Gemini useful for is putting together trip itineraries and finding things to do. I used it when we went to Bali last year and it had a lot of great suggestions when you prompt it for things to do in a specific location.
I wonder if switching the Venture/Venture One to mastercard means that product changes between the Venture X and Venture lines are dead. I remember there being a lot of data points about needing a mastercard Quicksilver in order to upgrade to a Savor/SavorOne (MasterCard)
I'm interested in applying for the Barclays AA Red World Elite card. Would having a high yield savings account at Barclays help my chances for approval?
Another very informative video!Have not had any bad experiences with BILT. Applied and denied AA card by Citi and Barclays due to high credit limits from all the cards I have. Should I ask banks to reduce my credit limits? Any tips/tricks to get approved for AA cards?
I wouldn't do that, no. The reason given on a denial letter is never the whole story -- and in fact, it often isn't accurate at all. We heard from a reader once whose denial letter said "too many new accounts" -- and she had opened ZERO new accounts in the previous 24 months. That letter just gives you a reason because they know people will accept that and not call to ask if they just print something on the letter. I wouldn't take action -- especially like lowering my CLs at other banks -- based on what a rejection letter says. Did you call reconsideration? A lot of times, simply calling and speaking to a human gets everything squared away. I recently had to call recon about an application -- 10 minutes later I was approved for the card with a $20K limit, easy peasy. -Nick
@@frequent-miler Nick, thank you so much for detailed reply. I have called for recon both times and was not approved. Unfortunately, I will always have high CLs and will continue to open more cards and may never be approved for Barclays and Citi cards. But I can use BA, JAL, Qatar and other One World partners for reward tickets.
We got BILT in February and hitting Gold status this month. They better get with a badass promo soon, or I'll be testing the 3rd rate customer service 😂
I also had lots of xfer problems with Bilt. I also felt Bilt was a waste of my time (though I don't blame Greg for all of it). It did not relate to test transfers but just to setting up the partners. Huge pain.
The Bask account only awards redeemable miles, not Loyalty points -- so while that can be a way to rack up some miles, it is not a shortcut to AA elite status. -Nick

This is great timing! I am trying to figure out if and/or how to get AA status. Thanks!
I like the CITI AA Exec myself. Thanks for the info + video!
Great customer service: Costco, Amex, Chick-fil-A
P2 used an AA companion cert 9/2023. We had to call in to use it, which was odd. I hope they have improved that.

Good point! We did inadvertently leave that one out!

Since Citi is way too inquiry sensitive to let me get more cards, one of the WF autograph cards might cover the gap there a bit
That loophole will be closed soon enough with Citi Executive card giving boosts for people spending on Aviator Silver.
Wait I missed this, what’s an example of that?
It's a prediction. Nothing official has been said.

Can you use Hyatt glory match to AA status?

$20k for 5k loyalty points seems like a pretty steep opportunity cost for such a low earning card
Amex has great customer service
No thanks on a Barclays card.
Amex and delta both have great customer service.
I don’t use it but Bask Bank Savings Account if you want AA miles instead of interest on your money. No Loyalty Points.
