Hey man! Thanks for the slow, thorough tutorial. I was able to create my first mission and view it virtually in Google Earth and already saw where I can make it better. This is a terrific tool and I know I'm going to have a lot of fun with this.
Great video Steve. In Gimbal Pitch you're given 3 choices - Disable, POI, Interpolate. As you noted in the video, POI will stay focused on your designated POI even with altitude changes. If you don't have a POI selected then you would want to select Interpolate for smooth gimbal transitions. If you choose Disable then the gimbal will just snap into place for the new setting. Interpolate just gives you a smooth transition from one pitch to another. I hope this helps and keep up the great work.
I use Litchi a lot and have owned it since my Phantom 3 Pro days .... I paid for the original program and later switched to an iPhone and my log on info and everything else was perfect. Downloaded from DJI and love it ,now that the Mini 2 is supported. Nice review .....
Steve Wilson thanks for your clear explanation. Tonight I flew my first mission at a Windmill in the Netherlands. Tomorrow I will put that video online and of course I thanked you in the comments :)
Thanks for the tutorial. I fly a lot of videos for metro parks and this will help my preflight planning and the flights when the leaves or trees block my line of sight for second or two during the flights. This a great way to add a layer of safety.
Great video! Great explanation. Thanks a lot. The video got 9 out of 10 Stars. ⭐️ If you had shown the mission in reality at the end - how to set up and execute on location to make the flight …you would’ve got 10 out of 10. 😉
Awesome video! Super helpful! I appreciate you taking the time and effort to put this together, I know others will get a lot from your video! Looking forward to seeing more!
Great video!! First time Litchi user, new Mavic Mini 2 & Air 2s owner. Used Waypoints with my Phantom 2 Vision+. Have been looking forward to trying this program, and your video gave me a lot of confidence. Thank you!
Thanks a lot for the succinct run through, I just got a mini 2 as a birthday gift and I've flown a few waypoint missions on a Phantom before for work so this is gonna be cool. Now there's waypoints available I can do photogrammetry projects. Here's hoping I don't crash it in the first week! Litchi are doing what DJI should have done 👍🏻
I'm pretty sure you've figured this out by now but just in case, here's what the official Litchi documentation says about Interpolate mode. "You can specify the gimbal pitch angle at this waypoint. For "Interpolate" to work, the previous or next waypoint need to be set to "Interpolate" as well. Litchi will then automatically adjust the gimbal pitch angle to start and end at the specified angles, and smoothly transition while travelling between the two waypoints." So it's about gimbal pitch angle.
Excellent Video and information. THANKS! I am having issues getting GEP to render 3D buildings... other than that everything works great as demonstrated. Love your mission! Inspiring!
Great info and superb presentation! I got a mission loaded and executed with my MA2 and iOS app. But where is the video stored?!?! Can’t see it even when I pull the sd card to upload vid. ( little help here!)
Absolutely faultless, clear, consise and coherrant throughout, only wish I was in Hawahi when I fly my first mission, seems that Cardiff Bay will have to do (when we get a sunny day) lol
As I said 3 weeks ago, good video and easy to follow. However, you always skip over the "Above Ground" checkbox and, as I am lead to believe, means your "Altitude" distance refers to ABOVE HOME POINT AND NOT WAYPOINT unless you check the "Above Ground" box. Am I right?
My understanding is that neither the Air 2s or Mini 2 support autonomous waypoints, ie, the waypoints get uploaded to the aircraft for entirely autonomous execution. Instead, the Litchi program sends stick commands vis the remote controller. I have heard this referred to as “virtual sticks”, the downside being signal loss terminates the mission.
Thanks for a Great tutorial, i have just started using Litchi, one question i have is ado you need to set tasks for every way point or does it copy the tasks from way point 1
Very nice explanation on how to generate a mission and especially using the VLM and opening in Google Earth. I have used Litchi probably 5 or 6 years ago with my Mavic Pro and the Litchi app has changed. I remember I think opening a mission in Google Earth to set altitude setting for each waypoint if say you were flying in a hilly area. But I think now if you set I believe earth to ground and you get two numbers left is the height you set over ground and the right number is the actual elevation of that waypoint in reference to waypoint 1. Anyway still somewhat confused with this.
I am a newbie with my Air 2S and this was my first introduction to Litchi. Thanks so much. Since it is working with Android, can I "assume" it will work with my RC Pro?
Does Litchi in combination with an Air 2 do AUTOMMOUS waypoints? Or is it still using 'joystick" input? So in other words, if you have signal loss, it will head for home and basically screw up your carefully planned misson? Thanks!
Hi, thank you for the video, I will be using my drone to do large roof surveys in the Uk and so will find this very uses, thank you for taking the time to talk about the addin for Google earth pro, do you use the website or the full app on your computer, I went onto the site to find the Chrome extension and whist I was there decided to join my local drone club so thanks for that, you are a gem.
Hi Steve, Great video very clear and concise, thanks. Not sure how I retrieve the saved mission from the Mission Hub to my IOS app please? I've saved a test mission in the Mission Hub on my desk top but now want to go into the field and open and run it from my controller and iPhone? Thanks.
And when I run the vlm it doesn’t always give me the option to fly it virtually, and the google earth pro looks like a 90s version from dialup days?💁🤦🏼♂️ it’s the current version update too
Great video sir, I just learned about all of this stuff today, bad news is I just checked and apparently Litchi did away with the export to VLM option, anybody know when this happened and why?🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
The “new” DJI Drones like Mini 2, Air 2S, Mavic 3 are controlled with the DJI Fly App (instead of the Go 4 App) and that has a waypoints functionally for “hyperlapse” only. That means you can not use it for regular videos. “Hyperlapse” shoots single photos to combine them to a timelapse (in motion during the flight). So the fly app unfortunately has no function to set waypoints for filming. It isn’t sure if such a function will be added in the future and I am really mad about that.
So I use a touchscreen laptop for this, but there is no mouse💁 I can do everything but set point of interest because I can’t right click lol. (I’m an 80s kid so this techno crap is confusing 🤣🤦🏼♂️) brand new laptop I have no idea how to use fully
Because the mission is not transferred to the drone. It’s just “virtual sticks” - in other words the app “uses” the controller to fly the planned mission.
Very helpful for someone putting themselves through "litchi school" having never used the app or hub before. Super freaking helpful. Many blessings
Glad it helped!

Awesome, nicely explained the planning of mission, specially how it syncs to Google Earth and the way to preview it.
Great and understandable presentation.👍👍👍 Regards.👋
Hey man thank you your videos are great !
Best video for me on YT
Thank you for this! waiting for the iOS beta, looks like end of March. Now I can play around with missions until then!
Crystal clear. You saved my previous time. Thanks a lot.
23:53 this is so cool, I have the Air 2s, I'm just waiting for IOS SDK free and I'll begin to use this. Thanks!
I need to see that clip ☺️
Great video that I can understand Well done
Good job my teacher !!!

Great video. Very informative. I am new to litchi using a mini 2. I have also uploaded a few vids to help other. Subscribed 😀👍

Question, the POI that you set up first, is that the launch location or will the drone fly there from wherever you launch from?

you should just sign into litchi on your phone and it automatically syncs the missions.
Outstanding !
Interesting as not seeing Export as VLM as an option on my pc in any browser! All others are there
Great video, thanks for sharing. Is there a way to mark waypoints on 2S using remote control button? Thank you.
Where/ how far from 1st waypoint would be a good place to launch from?
hello i was wondering how you set the speed?do you have to set it for every way point?
Please can you inform / explain what is for the "Auto (TNW)", Initial (ID), Manual (UC), Custom (WD)? Thanks.
What happened to Export as VLM? It is not an export option anymore so I can't preview the flight in Google Earth.
One more question. I have downloaded the Chrome extention but I cannot see the virutal tour. any tips?
And when I run the vlm it doesn’t always give me the option to fly it virtually, and the google earth pro looks like a 90s version from dialup days?💁🤦🏼♂️ it’s the current version update too

Why I don't see the option to continue a mission when signal is lost ?
Because the mission is not transferred to the drone. It’s just “virtual sticks” - in other words the app “uses” the controller to fly the planned mission.
@@a2k-media It was available on Phantom 3 Standard 😰
With laws as In the uk the drone will still have to be in line of sight so really this software is a bit pointless regarding the law
