Wow! What a truly devastating event right in our own backyards. This documentary was "spot on" from what I witnessed & heard over the next 2 years, as I have visited multiple homes damaged by Hurricane Ian & getting out estimates for new replacement impact windows, sliding glass doors & entry doors. The way Boca Grande & its community of people / neighbors & 1st responders came together as Champions helping one another unselfishly, I witnessed from Punta Gorda up to Sarasota during this period. Thank you Island TV & to everybody else involved in the rebuilding of Boca Grande and the surrounding towns that were compromised by this "Beast" of a Hurricane!
Hurricane Ian was 113 billion dollars in damages, which makes it 3rd worst in us history And the worst storm to ever hit Florida. Also 161 fatalities made even hurricane Andrew look tame...they had their facts wrong before it hit landfall, because it was knocking a bunch of instruments offline, so they couldn't even measure the windspeed properly. It was 161mph at landfall (Category 5) they couldn't even record it through flight properly because it was the worst flight ever. Once in a lifetime storm for sure. Pray for this year before it starts and I wish nobody experiences a hurricane like this one ever.
