      Figuring out the solution is exactly how one learns! People who say it can't be done are quitters, Just because they couldn't or didn't want to figure it out doesn't mean it is impossible. It worked in the truck it came from, everything needed is there, Just need to connect everything. Once you understand what is going on the solution becomes much easier. Wiring/electronics sucks when you don't understand how it works, But it is truly easy once you understand the basic principles and common components. It is all about completing a (voltage) circuit.

  • @johnsnow1355
    @johnsnow1355 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Canbus stuff is always difficult. Plus you have to deal with how the ecu need to all communication. The seats don't turn on unless the motor is running and it's going to be a nightmare. You could try to supply power and ground to the seat module but I think it needs to see the rpm signal from the pcm to allow the seats to run.

    • @commonsenseisdeadandgone
      @commonsenseisdeadandgone ปีที่แล้ว

      "rpm"? Seats typically have constant power, function like heating and cooling are with "key on" as the module will kill the battery if not shut down. It's all positive voltages, negative voltages,sensors and/or switches. The inner workings of the electronics inside really aren't needed. Not trying to create something out of nothing here, Just taking something that previously worked and connecting them together. The seats, hvac and radio should have nothing to do with his ECU/TCM/PCM, The gauge cluster on the other hand though... but sounds like all the correct outputs are there, just need to link them. He has all the correct wiring for all of it to connect together, Just need to figure out the wiring going in. It seems more complicated than it is because the dash houses the fuse box for so many "other" things that it's certainly daunting when it's not understood.

    • @johnsnow1355
      @johnsnow1355 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@commonsenseisdeadandgone i have seen many OEM only allow the seats to function heating and cooling if the vehicle is running. Many disable the seat module if the vehicle is sitting just key on engine off. They all talk on the canbus in a loop of information.

    • @commonsenseisdeadandgone
      @commonsenseisdeadandgone ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnsnow1355 you mean in a network? 😂
      but they do not all talk to one another, and when there's a common link it's simply just a green light to come on. Your basic seat adjustments (up down forward back and most the time the recline) is typically just a simple switch. Heating and cooling is part of the HVAC, massage is (I believe) part of the boujee module and things like memory and "easy exit" are usually part of the driver door module which will obviously need signal for ignition (like key in you know when cars had keys!) and door switch so talks to the BCM. I know something's need speed data like GPS, Bluetooth (so infotament or APIM in this case here) even evidently pedal adjustment in Cadillac come to find out... but I don't know everything, I'll be the first to admit but I understand electronics decently. And to add and correct earlier it's; positive voltages, negative voltages, switches, resistances and frequencies. (Sensors was kind of vague) and I also forgot about amperes as well as grounds (which is kind of a given but it is different than negative voltages as many may suspect and it's not the same thing but I suppose that's also unneeded information really... yeah maybe stick with voltages, sensors, switches and signals 😂

    • @commonsenseisdeadandgone
      @commonsenseisdeadandgone ปีที่แล้ว

      And I'm wrong about seat switches in newer cars, I am wrong about "simple" switch... I don't deal with seats on new cars because they are not old enough to have issues commonly yet! So I'm going to leave it but retract that as well. I apologize there. I think "heating" should be (and it very well might be on many vehicles now) RPM or voltage based as well as heated steering wheel and rear defrost(wiper defrost, windshield washer heating elements..... whatever else has "heat" in it's name!) , hell and lights (however most being LED now it doesn't really apply) as they are essentially electrical shorts that have a higher amp draws that will certainly have ill effect on starting and killing the battery without it running. (The battery is for starting and sudden draws before the alternator takes over. Your alternator is your source of power and the battery only comes into play to help around 13.3v give or take and really doesn't put in work until 12.0v... the alternator does not charge the battery like so many believe, does it? Of course but it's job is to apply current to the entire car and only charge the battery so it can start the car, keep modules ready and keep memory... but you know this, I'm just ADHD as fuck so sorry as well for that 😂

    • @commonsenseisdeadandgone
      @commonsenseisdeadandgone ปีที่แล้ว

      Last thing I'll say... after reading my gibberish, you know one would think that with the network that cars would be more idiot proof when shit gets left on... I know Ford has had some safety measures for many years (time delay relay) but with our Mercedes sprinters the fucking things will kill themselves if you leave the key in the ignition at all! It leaves the gauge cluster illuminated and the screen inside partially on as well as parking/perimeter lights until it dies or you remove the key. I understand it to some degree but for us the law is when a car is parked inside it needs to have the key in it. I'm not sure if it specifies in the ignition per se and many of our vehicles don't have a keyed ignition now a days anyway but yeah...

  • @HiddenRamza

    should of took the complete harness of the 22 and program the 6 speed. But really the easiest route, change dash and seats and leave factory wires , cut the seat and AC wires and run your own power at the end of the day each button is a something turn on and something turn off. As for the subwoofer it's just a factory amp with a audio cable one of those jumper cable that piggybacks from your rear speaker could of fix that for like $6 bucks of amazon or any audio shop if you didnt want to chase wires to the front. Good luck bro I believe in you don't go back and put in the things you want and make it happen how ever you can.

    The break pedal depress is for the push button start. Can't start it without pushing the brake. Honestly though I think in my opinion you are trying to jump too many trim levels. There's no reason a base model truck will have so many extras that aren't needed. And that includes the outside, not just the inside.

  • @2exiw
    @2exiw ปีที่แล้ว

    This is what I would do. 22 dash only. Keep all the rest of the 18. And add the wires you need. 22 seats only wire it up for heating only. The ac part is not worth the time it’s going to take to make it work. It runs from the ac unit with fans and ducts from the rear unit with blend doors. Find a pin out for the sub and speaker box. If not found just keep the box and buy a aftermarket amp and run wire like you install a system. At the end of the day your going to need the pin key for the radio. Most of the time it’s the last 6 numbers on the body control module. So I would hot wire the radio only using a pin out. If need be hook your acc wire to your positive. And ground it . Wire in 1 speaker and see if it will power up and work. Don’t waste all your time if you can’t even unlock the radio. Hope it helps.
