If I'm not wrong, honda poached the guy who designed the husqvarna svartpilen and vitpilen to design all the new neo-retro CB line of bikes. I remember reading it somewhere on an online article.

Rarely see this bike in sg. The headlight LED is definitely eye catching to me

actually they drop the "Hornet" tagline since they introduce CB1000R in 2008. I'm riding the 2014 version of it, I can say you will love it day in day out.

i seriously doubt the 1000cc inline 4 cylinder engine runs cooler than the KTM 390cc single cylinder engine. 4 cylinders vs single cylinder, from thermodynamics standpoint, more power produced = to more heat produced, for the honda, it has 4 times the cylinder, 4 pistons, 4 spark plugs, 4 sources of heat more moving parts, more friction produced between friction of the moving parts also means more heat is produced not to mention the displacement difference, 1000cc Vs 390, 1000cc/4 = approx 250cc per cylinder. even the 400cc inline4 S4 Revo runs hotter than the KTM im sure

As a matter of fact, the CB1000R runs much cooler than my previous bike (KTM Duke 390 17+)

      Euro bikes usually hotter

Maybe there's better heat dissipation and heat flowing out around the bike frame and engine so you don't get to feel much of the hot temps.

I mean u have to try the 390 Duke yourself. My left leg is always on bbq at long traffic lights
