A note about Sushang and harmony characters: Buffs usually depend on the character's turns, and Sushang's ult will immediately make it her next turn. Meaning, in her best rotation, Sushang will deplete her buffs so fast, her harmony teammates can't keep up. The same goes for perservation unit's shields. As for Seele, her talent gives her an "extra turn" (compared to Sushang's ult that "advances forward her turn"). Buffs don't get reduced during extra turns, so Seele works better with harmony characters. I use them both, and I didn't figure out until much latter why her shields disappear so fast. But Sushang's still amazing overall, so def give her a try.
Nope sushang ulti make her take action not take another turn (action can be consecutive turn end only when enemy make other action) already tested with bronya she still have buff after use skill ulti and skill.

If it's before, then maybe it's still counted as her first turn (because the "advanced forward" part of her ult doesn't apply here). But if it's after, then i'm wrong and i'll need to do some extra testing :')

Li Sushang's ultimate is one of the most badass moves I've ever seen in a gacha game, I hope at some point in Star Rail she gets an evolved version that lets her use Edge of Taixuan again. With how Sushang is framed as a rookie not even used to her sword's weight yet, I think the odds are really good this will happen. Also as far as lore goes don't forget she's an unfrozen cavewoman who immediately became addicted to arcade games. And gay, because she's a Honkai Impact lady. Speaking of which, I'd love to see Susannah get brought into Star Rail, too.
After Qingque, I fell for Sushang too. They became my top 2 mains and glad I got E2 Sushang (even though I failed to get Jing). But all good, it means more resources to build up my Sushang. 🥰
@@kapuminyozora7845 Xingqiu is not a discount Yelan and anyone who says so is not worth listening to for Genshin game knowledge. Xingqiu has more hydro application, defensive utility with rain sword healing, and interruption resistance. Yelan brings more personal damage and gives a team damage buff but has lower hydro application and no defensive utility. Both are good hydro units and neither is an obvious upgrade over the other.
I was really excited when I unlocked her because she's the only character that really does more damage while the enemy is broken. She doesn't have to focus so much on breaking toughness since her best damage is when during that down time, so she fits in any team comp I want to make. Also, her color scheme is my favorite in the game, hehe
I remember getting Sushang and thought she was just too gimmicky (with the giant chicken) but after building her... Jeez she can pack a punch - the chicken too 😂 now she and Jing Yuan are my main damage dealers
Great guide! I got Sushang on the standard banner quite early on, she's been an amazing dps to use for all content, and her ultimate never gets boring. I managed to get her at e4 this banner so far, which is even better
I really like the balance they have done with the game Abudance: pseudo supp while trading off offensive power. In the case of luocha they made him a soft spammer with more offensive swints Preservation: Limited exclusively to core unit such as M7+clara or Gepard X hypercarry. Nihility: can do pretty much anything at the cost of being either sp hubgry or low scaling + Hard Rng rolling, unlike actual buffing Harmony: Amazing utility with core flaws. These can be instrumental (as in Asta w her buff conditions), or integrity (such as brunnya mom w her Huge sub roll dependency), even our tingyun is specifically made for hypercarry. Hunt: Extremely sp hungry and squishy. Erudition: same as the hunt but depend on their core comp rather than SP consumption. As in Jing yuan needing the actions, The gacha gacha unit neededing the gacha, or serval needing the effect snipe.😊
I find it really funny and ironic that Eng va is Dori. I despise Dori but I love Sushang the moment I saw her. She sounds a lot cooler voicing Sushang too, it took me by surprised that she also voices Dori

It’s not a viable team but I made a “Xianzhou Luofu Gals” team with Bailu, Qingque, Sushang, and Tingyun. I run around XL and have a blast! Fun over function lol but this guide is super helpful because I think I might main her for simulated universe!
I got sushang almost instantly when I started pulling LOL was very happy. She's one of my favorites, though I have been neglecting her recently because I have so many hunt characters to upgrade now 😅
By the way, it's an actual phoenix, it just hasn't grown up (yet). Also, you can see such "phoenixes" in another miHoYo's game, Honkai Impact 3rd. There, let's say... woman by the name Fu Hua takes care of said phoenixes.
If you didn't get Seele, Sushang is your girl. Her damage rivals Seele pretty easy (in the right conditions, namely weakness broken enemies). I run Seele and Sushang in my most common team and nothing stands a chance. I love my chicken girl! Honestly, don't sleep on her. She is very, very strong and an awesome F2P carry.

I love her everything. I just started playing HSR 5 days ago. Thanks to gift codes and me being a Genshin Veteran since Genshin came out I’m pretty good when it comes to managing resources and picking characters worth their sauce. I wanted Kafka cus I’ve heard great things, but in truth I wanted Sushang and I wanted to dedicate a lot of my early game resources on her. So the other day I used all my event passes on her banner, in the end I got a Welt which I heard is a good unit as well but I did wind up getting a Sushang and a bunch of Eikonods or whatever you call them (constellations) for Natasha an I’ve just been in love with Sushang in every aspect. The only other unit I will kill for at this point is some ice DPS someone mentioned called Jingliu I think, her design and fighting style is right up my alley. I just like women with big swords. Also I don’t know if the pity system works like Genshin’s, like if I’m guaranteed to get the featured 5* if I lost the 50/50 on the banner before. Does pity carry over I guess is the question to you HSR lovers (I’m loving it too btw even though before I played it as a Genshin Stan I shit on it because it was turn based, how wrong I was).

It doesn't, but it's just as strong nonetheless, the viability doesn't get reduced. In fact, her combo immediately gets the 5 stacks, and as long as you focus fire, that won't go away. Skill - 2 Ult - 1 Skill - 2 = 5 Swordplay stacks already.

From what I've understood in the game, Break Effect stat affects the damage dealt by the debuff placed right at the moment the Weakness Break occurred. But debuffs' success rate relies on Effect Hit Rate. With these in mind, I think Pela (with A4 trace unlocked) can also be a good choice in her team.
I pulled three Sushangs and one Jing Yuan. At the time, Jing Yuan was what I want and I didn't care about my E3 Sushang. In a turn based game, Jing Yuan's Lightning Lord is a game changer. That's why I thought It'd be cool to have him. But after playing him for a while, I realized that its hard to maintain a consistent 10 hits Lightning Lord. My friend have Bronya, and our Jing Yuan's difference is night and day. Then I realized, that many enemies especially mobs have physical weakness. So I looked at my Sushang, tried building her, and she work a lot better than Jing Yuan in most battle.
I paired her with Bronya. Of course, using her skill well, like you said, her ultimate. After her turn, I will use my ult and she will move forward and then attack, and if Bronya is next, I will use her buff to move Sushang forward. That's why in my alter account, Sushang is my main with Bronya. HAHAHA! Gepard is the only one missing for my shielder.
if you happen to have bronie and tingyun, she can become an absolute monster since you can have her atk 6 (with enough speed and e1 tingyun, 7) times in 1 turn. BA > ULT > SKILL > TINGYUN ULT > BRONIE SKILL > SKILL > ULT > SKILL

I am TL 51 and my Sushang Carried me on SU World 3 and 5 Difficulty 2. She is a beast! She can easily take down Gepard and Kafka's shields.
