The banjo solo is epic
That’s Greg Liszt. He is an incredible person. Look him up!
Aoife's voice is hauntingly beautiful, one of the most amazing I've ever heard. All these guys are incredible musicians.
Everyone is awesome
The Last Of Us Part 2 brought me here 😎
Same
Crooked Still brought me here
@@eltonbloye582 i got your point there
Killer banjo break.....double time...genius!.
This rendition of ain't no grave is the best I have heard since The Mckameys sang it. I am so thrilled I found you guys. I'll be listening to more of yall's songs!
I’m learning bass and am blown away by the ability of their bass player to keep up this steady rhythm and play such clear notes. My hand would be in a cast!
Their dynamics are amazing. Love the bass riffs. In lieu of a drummer, the bass is the timekeeper, and this guy is fantastic. They all are!
Wow her voice has the same quality as the recorded version. Insane. Also that banjo solo omg
The song was written by "Brother" Claude Ely, a Pentacostal preacher, and recorded by him for King in the 1950s.
This was when Aoife did some of the best music I had ever heard. I love that she's getting recognition, but they should search her back catalog.
can't say enough good things about this band. Only that before I heard them I was totally ignorant about this music genre. That is a profound statement considering I was raised in a house that rang out bluegrass every Sunday.
Don't need to be a believer in myth-making to love this song. Well done!
i love your voice giiiirl
this is by far my favourite version by them. I love her voice and how she puts emphasis on some words. its beautiful
This is the kind of talent that needs to be famous. They sound wonderful live as opposed Uggy Uggs and a few choice pop artists
Epic banjo throughout.
Wonderful performance all round.
Love this band and this is the best thing they ever did...
I agree with Jeff Buntin. "All these guys are incredible musicians."
Was listening to the Wailin' Jennys channel on Pandora while working at my desk on day.
"Wading Deep Waters" was a stop-me-in-my-work track that brought tears to my eyes. "Who ARE these guys? Must Follow!"
Aoifes voice is angelic
LOVE THE MUSIC FROM THIS GROUP
This is WONDERFUL!!! Love, love, love it!!!
i saw these live folks in Nome, AK - and became a fan... totally love their sound and that cello = wow ---- and the banjo - and ---- top musicians/top tunes....
Oh, those double stops are like crack for the ears.
This is great quality for a live performance video. It's just what I was looking for. Thanks for posting it.
Best version of this classic out there I’ve ever found.
One of the best bands ever! I've seen them many times and will go whenever they play. I'm hoping they have "reunion" concerts for another 40 years!!
Wonderful song and great musician, all of them.
these guys are amazing!!!!

they were one hell of a band.all awsome players
Best band of any band that I ever saw of any style of music

Brilliant Band !
This is on Spotify's "Run Wild" playlist, which is use for my long runs.
Tristan is awesome on the cello!!
Bett Bollhoefer
He is quite the cello player for sure he's also an amazing fiddle player.
Amazing!!!
Oh fuck yeah!
Even when you hear the intro you are hooked into the originality of this performance. Every bit as much raw energy as rock & roll!
I love this totally my Jam❤😄
I am in love with the entire band- Out standing work. Who wrote this song? is this a Crooked Still song? So glad I found these guys. Real refreshing music in a world that has so much stuff that sounds the same.
The song was written by Claude Ely, a Pentecostal preacher, in 1934.
Simplesmente lindo! Esses caras são bons demais!!!
Love it
Excellent.
the banjo man is rockin out haha thats awesome
is this the guy from Springsteens Seeger Sessions band?
Bill Catozzi yep
brefmint I thought so...amazing talent
Killer performance by all of then - but dude, that banjo player ripped it!
It would be nice if they did a reunion in Los Angele Ca I would definitely go see them.
Great cover
This is so friggin amazing... everyone is brilliant here.. this is perfect
One of my most favorite songs and favorite Blue Grass bands. The banjo player cracks me up.
Inspiring.
Wow, way cool!
Sehr außergewöhnlich und gut!!!!
WoW ,,,YA I LOVE IT,,WELL this is what bluegrass and acoustic music is today, WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY ,,,,,,,I think its the BEST its ever been,,,,Bands like this are what they are taday thanks not just to the likes of Monroe, Flatt, Scruggs BUT i think more thanks to Tony Rice, Sam Bush, Just to name a couple from the world of acoustic music that did not have walls put up around it. This is acoustic music at itS BEST, Thank you so much for posting it
They were and still are amazing. I wish they would re-unite and play a show in so. cal so I could see them and save the ticket to remind me of another great show i saw.
Awesome

These kids a e going far!
They're pure FIRE!
good rendition
This is such a cool and innovative sound!! These guys are brilliant!
Trueblood brought me here....
Saw Michael Hedges play in this theater way back in the day
I knew they did a great job with this song, but the syncopation in this live version is amazing!!!
*D+E*
*JJ*
what real music is all about to me
Well done.
God bless you all.
I don't really understand what the 5-string banjo player is doing (sounds difficult to play anyway) but the dude on the cello is astounding.
+burrencrawler It's just a simple alternating roll.
Newgrass. Nowadays, distinctions between different genres no longer exist, exciting times.
first, these guys are great! secondly, they represent something new emerging from bluegrass tradition in the same way as bluegrass emerged from old time. it's not really 'bluegrass' any more. ever notice how changes in banjo technique reflect changes in genre name? well, it just blows my mind what is happening on banjo these days. and... there's always room for 'cello.
Avant-garde killer cello
reminds me of one of my favorite bands of all time,SWEETWATER,circa. 1969
The banjo solo.wow!
Check out The Bee Eaters.....Three piece with his sister.
Cello insideout
This is Allison Krause with a twist - great stuff!
Country music
Old Mole! Do the Zombie Twist...
i will never die! never ever..... ever....i have a helmet... never... but a band of angels are after me .... never
Hit like if the last of us 2 brought you here.
Yeeep
On a 1 to 10. scale they get a10 plus
That banjo player ain’t no jokin
Wow...!!! five sticks of dynamite with a two mile fuse....!!!
Nothing like it. Just like lines of coke - twitchin, bangin, stompin, snappin. Alternatively, like seeing the clouds part and the Lord of Lords come. Aoife has NEVER been so animated.
they're all great players, but the 'cello player is the shit.
sleethmitchel1
You should have heard they're former Cello player Rushad back when he was with them if you think Tristan is good Rushad will blow you away times ten.
Takes some nerve to slaughter Bozie Sturdivants timless classic.
I think that banjo player should have played for the talking heads!
The banjo player is tweaking.
What a bullshit O.o
Dont flame me ;D it is my personal opinion
Very good band! Drop the singer. She is completely clueless on how to sing this song.
Totally disagree. I think she's a perfect piece of this group. A truly unique sound, and she's honestly got a stunning voice.
How dare you. The singer is GOLD.
