My first vehicle was a manual antique pickup. The parking brake was operated with a pedal and lever under the dash while the truck obviously generates lots of torque being that its a pickup. All of this is to say that plenty of times I’ve started driving with the parking brake still engaged without even realizing cause it hardly puts any more pressure on the truck.

just put the clutch down again start the engine give it a bit more gas and let the clutch off slower. and when the time is right switch a gear by putting the clutch down again switching gears and letting of the clutch. and when stopping remember to also (while in gear) put the clutch down. tip: it is suggested to have the car in neutral while stopped tip: it is suggested to leave the car in first gear when leaving the car parked (dont forget the handbrake!) and if you are parked on a hill with the car pointing downwards leave the car in reverese. it takes like an hour of practice to get the handle of a manual gearbox. and a lot longer to get it perfected. or atleast close to it because none of us are perfect good luck out there lads.
It seems that auto manufacturers in the USA are dead set on phasing them out completely. Only sports cars and a select few other examples can still come with a manual transmission in the new car market. The Toyota Tacoma is the only pickup left with a manual transmission option despite pickups being huge in the USA to just name one example.

Nah autos are stupid easy to drive you just get in and turn your brain off. You don’t even need need to hit the gas to get moving, they all will start slowly rolling forward just by letting off the brake.
