The good Bosch nozzles are hard to come by. Doing what Dave did here is usually better than the new stuff they sell. Sometimes those pintles are stuck real good.
Appreciate the video. I have a 65 that for whatever reason, will only blue smoke once I get passed 40 MPH. If I stay around 35 to 40, no blue smoke. When it fires up in morning, no blue, white or black smoke. I am hoping its injectors or timing and not valve sleeves/stems and related valve body issues.
Thanks buddy. Just did them today. Had a genuine bosch set that came out when I got the truck, would be hard starting. When the bosch in the truck get bad just going to swap them out. I knew their wasn't much to them but I didn't want to attempt without a good video lol.
@@JRRODZZ yes, fixed my issue because I had 2 nozzles that was gummed up and sticking. . Ended up buying a bunch of other goodies and a new bosch set from quadstar.
When i try to reassemble injector it doesnt thread securely against orange gasket. Is there a right side up or down on those shims you assemble it a million miles an hour i cant see the way the shims are going in ive tried a bunch of combinations but cant get it to tighten down
Ive got the same Bosch injectors its quite possible the truck did run like the guy said i had to change my injector pump so my truck sat for 2 months during that 2 months my nozzles got stuck on all the lines i completely removed.
good viedo but they are 2 shims there witch one gose where one is more soild and other is more think and have some groves wish video was more clear thanks again
The thin one goes in first then the thick one then the spring... The spring can rotate and damage a thin shim if you do it wrong. Also, make sure, you have fresh clean diesel fuel to lubricate for reassembly.
Ultrasonic cleaner, you get solutions that you dilute into water, and for the thinner, it's to dislocate any water left in the parts, as water is not good for any engine
I change a set in mine and now mine has 1 injector that has gas coming out were the top part screws to the big bottom and my truck is smoking worse idk what to do any help ud be a life saver ?! God bless
OK I have a question I have a six to Detroit non-turboThat rough idle loads up on fuel and white smoke smells like raw fuelCould this be stuck injector or most likely injection pump
Pull the glow plugs to prime fuel up. Not as hard on the starter and injection pump. You will see a mist start to for up the air, you will think it is smoke but it’s mist. At that point put glow plugs in and fire it up

Did it fix the hard start just by cleaning them?

This is an awesome video. This helped a lot. Thank you
Really appreciate the video sir. Thanks for the info
Great video. Helps alot.
nice video! are you able to check pop pressure when you’re done?

Good video buddy
thanks..
grest video! any tips on where to buy pintles snd shims??
How tight do you re-tighten them ?
Little late but 50 foot pounds 😂
I'll bet Hoppe's gun cleaner would work well. I use it on Aircraft engine nozzles.
I need a video to show how the hell to get the injectors as well as the glow plugs

I head you say you soak them in lacquer thinner, but what solution do you use in the ultrasonic cleaner?
thanks for this video I have question wath type fluid you use fro clean

ZOOM IN !!! Good video.
Great video!
what you use for cleaning solution? and why you soak in thinner after cleaning??

Very good video! Thanks

Do these have injector cups?
OK I have a question I have a six to Detroit non-turboThat rough idle loads up on fuel and white smoke smells like raw fuelCould this be stuck injector or most likely injection pump
I would have to say injection pump. You need to make sure it is adjusted correctly
Injectors stuck open or leaking will cause white smoke. Running it that way can melt the pistons...
did you have to crank it for a while to get it to start after the work

Got one of those 6.5's from 20 years ago, I ain't getting rid of it, even with inflation
@Camden Elijah Ford and Dodge folks don't care
What tool did you use to remove the injectors? Need to do the same for my humvee.
Is there a torque for putting the two parts of the injector back together before putting it back onto the engine?
guess as long as it dont lrak , we see them outside
