Thanks so much for this recommendation. I was personally blown away by this set. The extras were amazing and the restorations are immaculate. This subgenre is everything we cult mongers love. To my eyes it's like Universal Horror & Hammer Horror had Italian babies. F'n amazing....
I just started watching this set the other night. I love Italian Gothic horror so looking forward to watching the rest. I love when boutique labels deliver films that I’ve never seen or are unfamiliar with allowing me to discover them.
Ordered mine last month and just got a notification from Arrow that I should have it sometime between this Tuesday and Thursday. My most anticipated set since Severin's Eurocrypt of Christopher Lee. Feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning!
Always felt that the only Europeans who feel as intensely as us, latinamericans, are italians, these movies are so baroque, I recognize so much of latin sensibility, in particular the witch, which was based on a mexican writers story, and its my favorite, and looks incredible. This box set is a must have for any cinephile
I just bought this box set in the Barnes and Noble sale and can't wait to jump into it. I really want to take my time and enjoy everything. I bought two more box sets of Italian crime films during the Arrow Shocktober sale as well. I now understand the love for Arrow box sets (limited edition and reissue): Just beautiful in every sense of the word. Vengeance Trails could be a future purchase for me too. Im glad you covered this release!!
Embarrassed to admit that I have only recently started to really dig Italian horror; cutting my teeth this year on Bava and Fulci. This is going to be very bad for my budget.
Malvito it killed my budget. But it's essential. And Bava and Fulci are the best place to start. Keep searching for more films---plenty right here on TH-cam. Happy hunting, and enjoy the ride!
I have been anticipating this one since it was announced and can't wait to dive into it. Thanks for the advanced preview Heath while I wait patiently to receive my copy. And I totally agree on the value of printer material. The digital world offers convenience and some other benefits but it's no substitute for printed materials. Took me forever to get myself a Kobo and I really have embraced it under certain circumstances (mainly for travel purposes). But I'd never trade in my physical book library and be solely digital. Never ever ever.
