Re watching this video for some motivation. Lost 15lb before my wedding and had great energy and focus. I'm now on another cut before my vacation in April. Wish me luck lol.
Very inspiring and cool! It’s awesome to hear how a diet change is linked to mental and lifestyle changes as well. Congratulations on your success with this!
Awesome to hear Keto worked for you Mike! I’ve been overweight all my life, so tried it and it didn’t do work. Back in February I decided to give Keto another shot but modified it to be mostly protein, some fat and low carb. I started running 5 days a week and the lbs have just melted off with my modified Keto and exercise. Currently down just over 40lbs and still more to go!
From what I've seen the biggest reason Keto fails for most people is because of the lack of consistency, people so often take crash diets for several months, lose the weight and then fall into their bad habits again and wonder why all the weight came back. I think when it comes to stuff like this people really need to make sure the diets are something they can realistically see themselves doing for most of the foreseeable future. Good video!
I have always been addicted to sugar and an emotional eater. I really needed chocolate ice cream to feel better. But I was starting to feel like I was becoming insulin resistant and really wanted to change my habits and lose 50lbs. I tried intermittent fasting a couple years ago, eating 2 meals a day but not really changing the foods. Didn't lose a single pound. A month and a half ago I decided to go keto and OMAD(one meal a day, no snacks). I have zero cravings and am already down 15lbs! I also have more energy, no brain fog, and the confidence that I'm not going towards diabetes, which insulin resistance is the precursor of! It really is incredible. I DID get mild keto flu after a few days, but I could tell my body was just detoxing and adjusting. Congratulations to you!!
Yep there is a massive correlation between how much energy you have and the level of depression. Proper sleep schedules and setting up a gameplan for what you're going to do for you days off really help get the ball rolling and once it is with the good sleep energy levels will definitely increase and lessen the depressive state
I might try this out. I have a problem of always feeling hungry, but as a father of a little 5yo, the biggest problem is the lack of energy to keep up with her, playing and engage in being an active parent as much as she deserves.
Thanks for sharing your story, Mike. I actually saw dramatic results when I went full carnivore 2 months ago. Inflamation gone, digestion issues resolved, and the last stubborn pounds are melting away. I feel twenty years younger (I'm 52) and have a ton of energy. And... no fiber, no problem!
Mike, thank you for sharing this. I feel like it takes a lot of courage to talk openly about your lifestyle, depression and all. I look up to you in a lot of ways. Much love.
A bit late perhaps, a year after you've posted this: I'm absolutely convinced! Been looking for a reliable, sustainable method for changing my life style (eating, drinking, sleeping). This seems to be it! Thanks a ton! (I'm really just a book-nerd, following your channel religiously.)
Started keto on January 1st so far im 10 pounds down. Its slower than i would like but it is consistent. Im not finding it difficult really either. I can see myself once im at my goal weight eating carbs maybe at the weekend and the rest of the time keto. Thanks for all the videos, it was you who inspired me to start keto.
I wanted to do Keto, but it wasn't feasible for me financial, culturally, nor physically. Instead I did intermittent fasting and lost fifteen kilos. I've managed to keep most of the weight off, gaining back a couple of kilos during quarantine. Your success is a great inspiration to others hoping to lose weight. The key really is to find a sustainable method for oneself.
I started keto a few weeks ago and lost 6 kg in a month, then i was invited to a party, had some enormous stress and gained 3 kg. But now getting back on track!
I have made the exact same experience as you have, just started one year later 😊. Best decision I ever made! Only downside: It is hard to restrain from telling everyone around you to do the same. Thank you so much for sharing!
I certainly never get preachy, but I see friends suffering chronic depression and I really encourage them to try. In the end, it has to be their choice.
Lost 50 pounds the first time i did keto for a few months. And i was feeling excellent. However a few years later i had they found some gallstones (its in the family) and i had to remove my gallbladder and now i'm reluctant to start it again. But as a doctor, i can say, its the best way to lose weight. Mike is spot on
My friend and his wife went Keto and they lost a ton of weight and I want to lose weight badly and honestly I wasn't sure if I want to go Keto but now this convinced me maybe to give it a shot.
Any large/extreme diet change will typically have similar effects. One by product ppl don’t realize is when you have so many limitation you have to cook your own food which means it’s healthier and isn’t highly processed. So typically we aren’t keto advocates because it’s a bit too intense than is necessary (for most). You also absolutely need to measure ketone levels and measure food to properly do it. If you eat like crap just cooking your own food and cutting sugar, increasing good fat is all you need. Definitely happy to see you have improved your health for the better and have been adapting and learning more about it. Lots of great nuggets and advice for anybody, not just keto. I can obviously go on way too long about nutrition ha. I read nutrition books as a hobbit and we read studies on the reg for work.
I did keto and intermittent fasting last year for three months and lost 35 pounds. I go on and off keto all the time and have been able to maintain the loss for over a year.
Great video! I gained weight when I decided to go back to school and still working full time. Started the 16 :8 fasting. I use to grab a snack. Now I grab my book/e-reader and read 5-10 pages 😊
Thanks for sharing Mike! I've been doing more research on this lifestyle lately and came across a book called End Your Carb Confusion. It's full of great info. Again thank you so much for sharing and congrats to both you and your wife in your lifestyle journey.
I tried it, but had to stop, I have so much allergies that it meant eating a too narrow food choice. I have been trying instead to reduce on carbs in general, but I'm glad that others are able to.
Leaving this and your other video in my “to watch later” list. Need the reminder and motivation. Next week school starts and I am committed to starting Keto again. My blood tests on Keto were great and my doctor was so impressed. Just went to the doctor last week after being off Keto for probably a year and everything got worse again. And like you said, I just don’t feel good…I am NOT a fan of veggies so that part of it is a struggle for me. I kind of kept to salads. Challenges - kids bringing birthday treats to me, all the junk left on the snack table in the teacher’s lounge, and the way too common luncheon. But when I was serious about Keto I ate what I could at those luncheons and brought supplemental foods. I told the kids with the birthday treats “thanks for thinking of me but I’m going to pass” Last year was bad, I couldn’t be bothered to do anything good for myself last year except walk which I needed for the stress…30 minute escape from the house with an audio book to take my mind off stuff. BUT I started to feel worse and worse as the year went on and my poor eating continued. Last year was super super super stressful teaching in person, and honestly this year doesn’t look too much better, but it will be so much easier to get through if I feel better. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Not expecting a diet/health video from your channel and the surprise made it so the content of this video got passed my mental defense mechanisms and now I'm trying this. Thanks man.
Yup that routine of, well I usually have a snack at this time but I'm not hungry today but I'll still have a snack just because it's so ingrained in my head that that's the routine. You're right it's a lot of mental game too.
I found that until people actually sit down and track every calorie they eat over a few days, they never realize their "1600 calorie diet" is actually closer to 2500. that or they are severely over-estimating their maintenance calories. I span my wheels trying to lose healthy weight for years, until i got honest that i really only needed 1800/day (short italian.) Once i worked out an excel sheet with a few meals and macros logged into it to piece together a diet plan that fit 1800 calories but filled me up, i lost about 2 lbs a week for 2 months. Congrats Mike! also, WoT episode reviews when the show drops?
I've been having high blood sugar and getting hungry after eating if I eat too many carbs, so I've HAD to start keto but I really didn't want to. This video has made me feel more positive about it and eager to see results, esp since I also suffer from depression. Thank you so much for it!
I’m happy you said this was a life style because after just watching this and your other video. I’m gonna give this a good shot Saw what foods I can make with the allowed. There is so many so I’m excited for this. Thanks for posting this
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing, Mike. I hope that will inspire more people to make healthier choices. Even though I don't eat meat, I can still benefit from keto principles, so if someone's in a similar situation, don't let that turn you away. I've been gradually eliminating bad things from my diet (quitting sugar was a big thing, and easier than I thought) and it feels great.
I started keto in early 2020 and stuck with it for 3 months solid, and the following 3 months I cheated a lot 😬 I lost 25 lbs total which still wasn't at my goal but a good start. Because of how 2020 was going I ended up stopping keto completely and gained all my weight back 😣 I've been wanting to give it another shot because I felt so good with the weight I lost and I did have more energy. I'll tell you what, once you lose some weight and put it back on quickly you are much more aware of it than you were before. I've been feeling down on myself for a while and I'm just ready to get on track again. Thanks for the video Mike! It's really great to hear your personal experience with keto.
I've had some success with Keto, and back on it again for a while now. I agree with everything you said, especially the mental fog you mentioned. I was never more productive, with more energy, than when I was on Keto. Diet Pepsi was my thing, for sure. No other cravings. Super weird. For the Keto Flu (in case it helps anyone): Drink lots of water, and make sure you're having enough sodium and electrolytes. Because you're depleting the body of water and glycogen, you're depleted of sodium as well. Don't shy away from salt. You should even salt your water a bit if you can. Then the Keto Flu is a non issue.
Thanks for the video, Mike. I've always eaten healthy but never had good results. I've been doing keto the past three weeks without being too militant about it. It's worked wonders and I'm drinking a low carb beer while watching this video 😁
I have had success with reducing carbs and stopping eating after a certain point. The carbs was easier but snacking after hours was the hardest thing to get used to. I never realized how much snacking i did. I found spinach salads are actually really satisfying for meals.
Carbs are cheap is the reason I haven't been able to jump in on Keto yet. I have just about convinced my wife to support my choice to try Keto (she prefers WFPB) to give by body and mind a fighting chance. I am 100lvs overweight and miserable all the time. Got to give it a try.
I tried it with success, but it flared my GERD up, even with my medicine so unfortunately I had to quit. You’re 100% right about being full from so little food though.
For Carb-free pancakes you can take 2 eggs and one banana plus a little cinnamon. You can add blue berries or fruit too. I sometimes add almond flour to make the batter a little thicker. I recently have switched to Gluten free and I've had more energy just from cutting that out. I'm trying Dairy free too, so keto wouldn't work for me, but I think even cutting out some processed foods can set people on the right track.
I do intermittent fasting but not on purpose - I did it most of my life - as a kid I only ate lunch and dinner. Needless to say, weight isn't an issue for me.
I didn't get the keto flu, either. I lost 20 lbs in 2 months and my metabolism stayed high for 3 years after (even eating whatever I wanted after quitting keto). I completely agree that you no longer crave sugar. I am 5 years later and still can't tolerate sugar.
Apparently I'm on the "challenge accepted" diet when it comes to portions. XD Husband and I gave up sugar and honestly, I hadn't realized how closely to Keto we were eating last year, and we felt so much better. Then the stress just got too much and things were derailed. I'm wondering if full keto and intermittent fasting would help my depression. I also like that you're not vilifying certain types of food. All food is good food, so if you fall off the wagon it's not the end of the world, or if you have a coke zero you're not doing it right. You've ultimately got to find what's right for you that doesn't feel like a punishment, but a lifestyle change.
You and your wife look fantastic! Never had issues with my weight but I'm a massive sweet tooth and I know it causes me a lot of issues with energy levels. I've considered going Keto so many times - maybe it's time to make the switch! I've done 18:6 IF and it's so darn good for your general health and longevity. I think even if you can't put up with Keto, IF is a great option.
I’ve been easing into it. I cut out my snacking, stopped beer, only eat 3 times a day. No sugar in my coffee only milk. I do still consume carbs and the occasional peice of candy. I do feel better though.
I think a reason I didn't have Keto Flu was because I slowly eased into it. I cut my carb intake by half, and then to a quarter before we began. Even if you're just reducing those processed foods & sugar it's going to be a net positive.
Im just getting into (learning about) Keto, though haven't started it yet. And I'm thinking the #1 hardest food for ME to give up is potatoes! I love potato anything! But Mike read my mind lol and he said the same thing. So I guess I can do it.
My advice would be if you are having a mild cold or illness do not pick that time period to start Keto. The Keto Flu can exaggerate those yucky feelings. Also, staying hydrated is key to feeling your best on Keto in general.
If people are worried about starting keto, and losing so much of their diet start small. doing things like cutting soda completely, see how you won't crave it, or something like fast food. Start bringing lunch or meal prepping. This can be a big help. Starting with smaller hurdles and working up.
I feel like such a sneak, watching this while eating my brownie 😅 It will always be the chubby life for me. I have some really good friends who have also had great success with Keto and I’ve been lucky enough to sit on some really informative Grand Rounds presentations that highlight evidence for how diet is linked to neurodegenerative disease. It’s a fascinating area of research! I’m glad that Keto has had such a positive impact on your life ☺️
Key point you brought up is keto elitist, I'm a huge coffee drinker and when I started keto ~5 years ago I just couldn't do it due to lack of sweet coffee in the morning which I lived off. I switched to intermittent fasting and keto (using splenda to sweeten my coffee in the morning) and I lost 30lbs in like a month and a half. I think it's funny when people say that's not keto blah blah, but at the end of the day it's about what works for you. It doesn't matter what it is because I haven't regained any of the lost weight in the 5 years I've been doing this diet. So don't let other people force you to stop something that's working for you because of their opinions on what is and isn't keto.
My in-laws are on Keto and they keep telling my wife and I we should do it. My biggest thing is food is my emotional crutch. I'm worried about the internal fight with my feelings. I know it makes me a coward, but I'm an honest one.
Keto was super difficult for me. All of the fat was hurting my stomach week 1, I couldn’t do it! So glad it worked for you both! Nonetheless, good video 👍
You posted four days ago, I am on day 4 of keto. Coincidence? I think so. Seeing you and especially your wife (another gorgeous redhead) before and after I was like "That can be me!" The sugar was the hard part. If you were Cookie Monster, then I was the Kit-Kat Monster. Today is actually ok, I have only thought about the firbidden Kit-Kats once.
I really want to try this for the energy and depression aspects but I’m pretty thin as it is and can’t really afford to lose much weight. Do you know how to start out keto at a weight-maintenance level?
Nice video Mike! I've tried keto out of curiosity in the past (I don't need to lose weight but I wanted to experiment). As a background to me, I'm 25, 5"11, around 175lbs. I consider myself very fit, I've a decent amount of muscle for my weight and am decently lean. Here were my findings: The keto flue wasn't a thing. I hardly ever had sugar anyway, all my carbs were from clean sources (rice & potatoes, pasta if I was feeling a little dirty). I lost a lot of weight quite rapidly, but I think it was all water weight (with virtually no carbs you store very little glycogen in your muscles; glycogen holds onto water). For me, I didn't like this. Vain as it sounds, I like the look of my physique when the muscles are more full. My athletic performance suffered, especially in the weight room. This was particularly evident early on before I learned about how I needed to supplement with electrolytes in my water to keep hydrated. Even so, when I equated for calories I just couldn't make the same strength gains as when I was on higher carbs (bear in mind, high carbs for me is maybe 200g-250g a day, still quite below the "official" dietary recommendations). I actually did manage to get a dose of the shits at first :P After around 8 weeks I called a halt to the experiment. I'm fairly sure that the amount of protein I need to eat frequently bumped me out of ketosis (in certain circumstances protein can be converted to carbs in your body to be used as fuel). Now, intermittent fasting is another beast altogether. Its a game changer for me. The benefits of autophagy are amazing; it radically cleared up my skin and kept my energy more sustained throughout the day.
Thanks a lot for this video Mike! That sounds a lot like what I would need at least for the energy/mental health part… I would love for you to show us what you eat in an average day someday! Or do you have a trustworthy online source for keto meals maybe? Cause as you say I feel like it’s quite hard to trust those influencers who clearly have an agenda… 🤪
Yeah mate I did keto for 6 months and lost 13kg and was wearing clothes I hadn’t worn for years, fell off the wagon though after going out with the mates and the wife, need to get back into it the issue I had with Keto was after months of doing this I snacked on cashews and nuts, I got sick and had scans and I have found out I can’t eat Nuts, seeds or grain 😢, looking good mate hopefully I can get back to it
Probably pure spirits. Alchohol in general is bad for you if you are trying to cut calories though. There seem to be some benefits to have a glass of red wine, now and then. But if we are mainly thinking of calories, alchohol is really bad.
Thanks for doing this video Mike! 🙌🏼 Can I ask any ladies who do Keto…how do you handle that time of the month? The cravings are unreal! Do they go away? What happens? 😂
Growing up, I basically lived on Little Debbie, Reese's Cups, Mountain Dew, Burgers, Pizza, and good home southern cooking like biscuits and gravy, fried tenderloin / pork chops, home made sausage, hoecakes, etc., and I never gained a pound. My metabolism was so crazy high that I was a skinny twig all throughout high school. I think I weighed around 145 at most when I graduated. Then I was 22 in graduate school and I suddenly realized I weighed over 200 pounds, and I was like "Holy shit, I'm fat." It really snuck up on me, and I've been struggling with my weight ever since. First, I cut out the can of soda and the bag of Doritos I was having with my sandwich at work, and replaced them with water (I hate drinking water with a meal, but I basically just didn't drink until after I ate) and a bag of Jack Links Tender Bites from the break room vending area. At home, I cut out soda and replaced it with green tea I brewed sweetened with stevia (this was a gradual process, where I at first mixed mostly sugar and a little stevia, then gradually reduced the amount of sugar and increased the amount of stevia, until it was all stevia and I couldn't tell a difference), and I tried to cut back some on my portions at supper. I also started doing intermittent fasting when I started working from home, and cut out eating at night. Doing this, I lost 35 pounds, and got back down to 200. I've been yo-yoing up and down ever since. I don't crave sweets, and I don't buy sweets, but if you put them in front of me I HAVE to eat them, and I live with people who don't give a fuck and bring in or bake sweets every now and then, which gets me back into the habit of eating at night, and then I have to do the mental discipline of getting back out of the habit of eating at night by going hungry at night for two weeks, etc. I know keto would be the silver bullet to finally fix it, but the problems are: 1. I basically am allergic to green vegetables. I've tried to eat them, but before the fork even reaches my mouth I throw up a little, and when I do eat them they just taste like plant. 2. Potatoes and bread are pretty much the staples of my whole family's diet. 3. My family is not going to change to make change possible for me. A lot of the changes wouldn't really be a big deal to me. I've never been much of a drinker, and I have never liked beer. When I hang out with my friend on occasion I will drink whiskey, but that's about it. I have never drank coffee and I haven't really had caffeine in the morning in years now. I will say at this point if I eat sweets or drink real sweet tea, I feel like my teeth are rotting and I have to go brush them immediately.
Hmm, that's a conundrum. Hopefully you can find a mix that works for your lifestyle. In the end, even if you're just greatly reducing the amount of processed foods you put in your body is a positive.
Thanks for sharing Mike, been toying with this. A lot of false starts, but I know I have to do something. So.... a 100 days aren't too long! xD Thaks again, and all the best ^_^
10:17 I’ve heard that keto is something you should do to lose weight but not do it long term cause there are other problems that come with eating all that fat like heart issues. It should be fine cutting out carbs and sugar but all that mct oil and fat can’t be good for the body long term
Not in our initial loss. We consider staying active with the kids and going up and down the steps in our house 20+ times per day adequate since we weren't looking to get shredded.
I did Keto for a while, and felt amazing, but I kinda went off the deepened again during 2020 lol. The only think I really "missed" or wanted was like super sweet coffee from Dunkin Donuts haha
I’m both vegan and have a history with bad eating disorders (which still makes all things involving counting, measuring etc very risky), so this is not in my cards. Still interesting video though!:)
I still eat a handful of berries 2 or 3 times a week in the summertime. But I couldn’t the first month while my body was learning how to do the whole ketone thing. I’m sure everyone is different tho. I definitely can’t eat pears or melons or super sweet fruits like those. A fruit salad drops me out of ketosis big time! And then I start getting sugar cravings again :-(
@@QueenieTT yes that’s my experience. They are the fruits that are fairly low in sugar and high in fiber. I don’t go nuts with them tho :-). Just occasional summertime treats. They do still have carbs.
I always feel like a diet is something you do temporarily. This is a permanent change. At least to me. Because I'll never go back to the way I used to eat.
I need to get back on it - The lbs melt away when I do keto right, and I generally feel better. So happy you’ve done this video Mike.

Feel you man, I have a two year old and he’s a ball of energy.
If you make sure that your diet consists of high protein and lots of fiber you should be more satiated and have less cravings.
Dude, give Keto a shot! The energy and productivity was the most interesting benefit I experienced.
Yeah, kids were running us ragged and now it feels nice not to always tell them I'm too tired to do anything with them.

Hey, thanks for watching! My goal here is to pay it forward on the mental health benefits of Keto & Paleo.

Thank you for sharing this, probably the best casual account of this diet I've heard so far.

Last year was bad, I couldn’t be bothered to do anything good for myself last year except walk which I needed for the stress…30 minute escape from the house with an audio book to take my mind off stuff.
Thanks for the video, Mike!!
I’m gonna give this a good shot
Saw what foods I can make with the allowed.
You did it once you can always do it again.I was Using food to cope through this crazy year and I’m back on it now and feeling results results
Water intake is absolutely vital. I drink about a gallon per day ha ha
Thank you. This video made me to think about this diet more seriously.
My pleasure! Good luck!
Trying anything is better than nothing. Best of luck!
Thank you Mike. I appreciate you sharing this video.
I might try this for a few weeks to test it out. I lost 66 pounds this year by skipping dinner 5 out of 7 days, but I still need to lose some more.
Fasting is an incredible life hack.
@@mikesbookreviews I have gone through slight withdrawal but it’s been tolerable!!!
Been waiting for this one!!!
looking good and you're gonna live longer. Good for you guys
Well, I certainly hope so! We certainly feel younger.
Congrats Mike!!!! That some motivation
Aspartame is okay on keto?
Im just getting into (learning about) Keto, though haven't started it yet. And I'm thinking the #1 hardest food for ME to give up is potatoes! I love potato anything! But Mike read my mind lol and he said the same thing. So I guess I can do it.
I was considering it and then I got to the beer part.
Ha ha yeah that's a hurdle for most
My advice would be if you are having a mild cold or illness do not pick that time period to start Keto.
Indeed. I cut my carb and sugar intake by half in the weeks leading up to starting. Made the system shock easier to stand.
Thank you
I feel like such a sneak, watching this while eating my brownie 😅 It will always be the chubby life for me.
I have some really good friends who have also had great success with Keto and I’ve been lucky enough to sit on some really informative Grand Rounds presentations that highlight evidence for how diet is linked to neurodegenerative disease. It’s a fascinating area of research!
I’m glad that Keto has had such a positive impact on your life ☺️
As with all things, do what works for you!
@@mikesbookreviews It would never, I would be a pile of misery. But I am glad that it’s such a good solution for so many (you guys included)!
It really does become a mental game once you realize that you are full. I had a hard time not munching while watching a movie or something.
Keto is literally a super diet lol its amazing and really improves your body I feel 10 years younger from being on keto
Keto was super difficult for me. All of the fat was hurting my stomach week 1, I couldn’t do it! So glad it worked for you both! Nonetheless, good video 👍
You posted four days ago, I am on day 4 of keto. Coincidence? I think so. Seeing you and especially your wife (another gorgeous redhead) before and after I was like "That can be me!"
The sugar was the hard part.
Here were my findings:
The keto flue wasn't a thing.
I actually did manage to get a dose of the shits at first :P
After around 8 weeks I called a halt to the experiment.
@Mike's Book Reviews Are you still doing intermittent fasting?
Thanks a lot for this video Mike! That sounds a lot like what I would need at least for the energy/mental health part… I would love for you to show us what you eat in an average day someday! Or do you have a trustworthy online source for keto meals maybe? Cause as you say I feel like it’s quite hard to trust those influencers who clearly have an agenda… 🤪
Health is a topic that needs to be talked about a lot more in nerd circles
Where is the link to the video that shows how you counted your macros?
I’ve been antsy for this one!!
Yesss....thank you!
You bet!
Awesome! I didnt knew you did keto
Only way to stay positive while under a public spotlight ha ha
The limited carb count reminds me of Atkins (which I have had some success with). I am sure there are some differences between Keto and Atkins though.
Yeah mate I did keto for 6 months and lost 13kg and was wearing clothes I hadn’t worn for years, fell off the wagon though after going out with the mates and the wife, need to get back into it the issue I had with Keto was after months of doing this I snacked on cashews and nuts, I got sick and had scans and I have found out I can’t eat Nuts, seeds or grain 😢, looking good mate hopefully I can get back to it
What do you put in your coffee ☕? Do you use sweetener or just drink black?
I use the things called Stevia Sweet Drops. A couple of drops in each cup and it's better than the Splenda I had been using for a decade plus.
Do you use Stavia for your coffee?
Sugar was the mind-killer the whole time
What kind of alcoholic drinks would be best to go for if you were to have one?
Probably pure spirits. Alchohol in general is bad for you if you are trying to cut calories though.
There seem to be some benefits to have a glass of red wine, now and then.
But if we are mainly thinking of calories, alchohol is really bad.
Thanks for doing this video Mike! 🙌🏼 Can I ask any ladies who do Keto…how do you handle that time of the month? The cravings are unreal! Do they go away? What happens? 😂
You can eat some high cocoa chocolate, or Redi whip, or sugar free chocolates
I know keto would be the silver bullet to finally fix it, but the problems are:
Find one veggie to cling to, but as your body adjust you taste bud changessee if you can add others
You should have read Berserk earlier, the tears alone would have shed all your weight away 😂
Good for you guys! I wanted to try this but I love my veg!! Can you eat veg?
Sorry I asked this at the start....
You've inspired me
please share that recipie for those cupcakes :)

Thanks for sharing Mike, been toying with this. A lot of false starts, but I know I have to do something. So....
a 100 days aren't too long! xD
Thaks again, and all the best ^_^
Best of luck!
I like mike, often no need to focus on book, rely one stuff whole month, talk other stuff.
10:17 I’ve heard that keto is something you should do to lose weight but not do it long term cause there are other problems that come with eating all that fat like heart issues. It should be fine cutting out carbs and sugar but all that mct oil and fat can’t be good for the body long term
Not to be nosey or anything. But do you and your wife also do physical excercise, or is the weightloss just pure diet, combined with daily life
Not in our initial loss.
30 minutes wasn't enough. I feel there is way more info you could share, but thanks for doing so.
Watch the video I did a couple years ago (link in description). I go way into the math and method.
Can you eat fruits on keto?
I still eat a handful of berries 2 or 3 times a week in the summertime. But I couldn’t the first month while my body was learning how to do the whole ketone thing. I’m sure everyone is different tho. I definitely can’t eat pears or melons or super sweet fruits like those. A fruit salad drops me out of ketosis big time! And then I start getting sugar cravings again :-(
@@AnnamariaSedai Would you say only fruits that end in berry work for Keto? Like blueberries, strawberries, raspberries etc?
@@QueenieTT yes that’s my experience. They are the fruits that are fairly low in sugar and high in fiber. I don’t go nuts with them tho :-). Just occasional summertime treats. They do still have carbs.
After wake up until 1 p.m, still not hungry.
You talk about having coke zero. Can you have that daily. I think that will be the hardest thing for me to give up
I have 1 per day. It's my "candy."
If it says no sugar is it alright to drink
Tried all the diets. The best diet for me has been vegan.
Lets gooooo
Highly recommend "Headbangers Kitchen" here on yt for great keto recipes.
*FOOT STOMP* changing eating habits is not a diet, it’s a life style *foot stomp*
I always feel like a diet is something you do temporarily. This is a permanent change. At least to me. Because I'll never go back to the way I used to eat.
@@mikesbookreviews exactly. Diets have an end point and insinuate temporary.
